Okay, I am warming up to the footage of the Zord fight.
Of course I didn't want an exact update either, but I wanted it done right. Not for everything beyond names and the general concept to just be thrown out the window. And maybe it's because I actually cared about the characters as civilians, and not just them as the Power Rangers, but it's still annoying to me that they seemingly share no qualities with their original counterparts. And yeah, I am gonna compare them because they're supposed to be them, not brand new characters. It wouldn't be an issue if they didn't have the same names. But they do, and like, that isn't Trini. It isn't even an ode to Trini, beyond being the Yellow Ranger. So why even name her that? Why make Billy the comedic relief? He wasn't. In fact, that's the exact opposite of who he was. And I'm going into this knowing right off the bat that at least two characters that I care about were totally miss-characterized and it's annoying just like if it were any other fictional character you care about that they got wrong. But, I rant about this to get it out of my system, because at least three people are going to try to drag me to this, and I'm gonna try to accept these issues and leave them behind before I give it a shot. I'm still hoping that Kimberly isn't as extreme a 180 as those two are, where I can at least pretend to feel like she's still the character I know and love, regardless of who's playing her.
