DISCLAIMER: This episode answers the question 'Who Shot Burke?'. Due to real life events, the shooting will no longer be referred to as a shooting after this episode, and will instead be referred to in a more sensitive way when mentioned in the future. However, due to this episode being written before the events of this past week, a gun does still feature. This will be the last time that guns are seen or even mentioned in NFA. Ladies and gentlemen, it is time for NFA 6: The Triple Threat! And tonight we're wasting no time, because the first of our two main events starts now!
The number one contender to the NFA Women's Championship,
Charlotte, is in the ring for her championship match. Out next is the NFA Women's Champion,
Eva Marie, and as always she has
Tamina Snuka and
Nia Jax by her side. Tamina hands a microphone to Eva, "You know, Charlotte, although our match was originally scheduled to be a traditional wrestling match, I've instead decided to defend my championship in a No DQ match!" The referee rings in the bell, and Eva turns and nods at Nia Jax and Tamina. They enter the ring and lay a beat down on Charlotte. Eva covers her challenger, but Charlotte kicks out! Nia and Tamina grab steel chairs from ringside, and swing them at Charlotte, attempting to con-chair-to her. Charlotte ducks, and the chairs collide, sending extremely uncomfortable vibrations up the arms of Eva's henchwomen. Charlotte runs towards Eva and strikes her with a huge forearm, sending her crashing to the mat. Charlotte covers, but Nia and Tamina pull her off of Eva. Tamina and Nia knock Charlotte down with a huge double clothesline. Nia then hits her big leg drop on the challenger, as Tamina climbs up top, coming off with a huge splash. Eva goes for the cover once again, but here come
Sasha Banks and
Becky Lynch to make the save! They send Nia Jax and Tamina Snuka over the top rope and down to the floor. The Four Horsewomen dive onto Nia and Tamina, leaving Charlotte and Eva alone in the ring. Charlotte hits Eva Marie with a body slam, and signals for the Figure Eight. Eva quickly counters into a roll-up and gets the huge upset win. After the match, Eva, Nia and Tamina continue their assault on Charlotte, Becky and Sasha, until suddenly 'Bad Reputation' hits the speakers, and here she comes! She's back!
Ronda Rousey rushes the ring and clears house of The Red Queen and her Power Alliance. She grabs hold of the NFA Women's Championship and lifts it into the air. Ronda Rousey is back, and she's clearly still got her sights locked on the NFA Women's Championship.
Shinsuke Nakamura’s music hits the speakers and here he comes, the King of Strong Style makes his NFA debut! His opponent, the man he has to beat to earn a NFA Cruiserweight Division contract is none other than the NFA Cruiserweight Champion himself,
Finn Bálor. Bálor begins to make his entrance, but suddenly the music stops, and
Jason’s begins playing instead. Jason walks out to a massive pop, passing Finn, and heading towards the announce table. Finn continues to make his entrance to Jason’s music, as Jason takes a seat next to the announce team. The bell rings and this huge match is underway. Shinsuke and Bálor exchange kicks to start the match, with Shinsuke, the better striker of the two, getting the early upper hand. The two men continue to have a highly competitive match with the momentum constantly shifting back-and-forth. Jason leaves his seat and heads over to the timekeeper’s position as the match continues. Jason grabs the NFA Cruiserweight Championship from the ring announcer, he then climbs on top of the announce table and holds it above his head. Finn Bálor spots Jason with the championship and turns his attention towards him, demanding that Jason return the championship to the ring announcer. The distraction gives Shinsuke Nakamura the perfect opportunity to deliver a devastating Kinshasa to Finn Bálor, giving him the big win, and a NFA Cruiserweight Division contract. After the match, Jason enters the ring and lays the NFA Cruiserweight Championship on Finn Bálor’s unconscious body.
The cameras cut to the backstage area where
Andrade 'Cien' Almas,
Kalisto and
Fénix are gathered around a TV screen reacting to
Shinsuke Nakamura's huge win. Fénix, en español, points out that Shinsuke earning a contract has already shaken up the division, and if any of them want to be the NFA Cruiserweight Champion then they'll have to go through Nakamura first, to which Almas and Kalisto agree.
Jimmy Uso arrives on the scene and immediately causes a stir by disagreeing with Fénix. "The only man who has shaken up this division is the black sheep of the Fatu family, and if you want to be the champion, you're going to have to go through me first," he says. Uso then slaps the taste out of Fénix's mouth, resulting in the luchadores banding together and laying a beating on Jimmy Uso.
NFA Commissioner Brandon is in his office finishing off reading 'Spanish for Dummies', he sighs with relief as he finally completes the book, and immediately picks up 'Japanese for Dummies', these international signings were a great idea on paper, but Brandon may have bit off more than he can chew.
John Morrison and
Melina barge into Brandon's office, screaming bloody murder about the attack he and
Batista delivered to them on our last show. "Get the hell out of my office!" Brandon demands, but Melina is having none of it, as she lifts her skirt to show the bandages on her backside after being injured by the Weapon of Ass Destruction. "Okay, well you're definitely getting fined for indecent exposure," he replies, gagging at the unwelcome sight of Melina's rear end. "No, you won't be fining anyone, because we're going to sue you!" John Morrison interjects, handing Brandon a stack of legal papers. Great, just what Brandon needs, more reading material. Brandon shoves them back into Morrison's hands, "If you don't get out of my office by the time I count to five, I'll throw you out myself." Morrison and Melina have flashbacks to the attack they suffered two weeks ago, but instead stand their ground, refusing to leave. "Five." Brandon leaps over his desk and double clotheslines Morrison and Melina. He grabs them both by the ass, lifts them off the ground, and throws them right out of the door. I'd heard that Brandon has been working out a lot recently, but that display of strength was insane! Brandon slams the door shut and returns to his desk. His phone rings and he answers it, "Batista! Yes, I know you're mad about my decision to exclude you from the main event tonight, but a future NFA World Heavyweight Championship match is definitely on the cards for you. If you give me what I want, I can get to work booking your match. What do I want in return for such a thing? Why don't you give
Chris Pratt a call and get him to meet me at my hotel tonight? You come too. See you soon."
Jessica makes her way to the ring for the next match, she takes a seat at ringside and waits for this one to start.
Wolfgang makes his entrance first, receiving a loud pop from the live crowd.
Cesaro is out next, and he gets a equally loud pop from the audience. The two men shake hands before locking up in the centre of the ring. Cesaro delivers a huge uppercut to Wolfgang, knocking Wolfgang silly. Cesaro hits the ropes, and attempts a flying uppercut, but Wolfgang snaps out of the daze he was in and dodges it. Wolfgang delivers a suplex to Cesaro, but Cesaro shakes it off, and delivers a suplex of his own to Wolfgang, who also immediately shakes it off. Jessica's promise to manage the winner is certainly helping these two men with the pain of this match. Wolfgang hits Cesaro with the Vegemite Driver and makes the cover, but Cesaro manages to kick out. Cesaro leaps back to his feet and delivers the Gotch Neutralizer to Wolfgang and goes for the pin, getting a two count. Wolfgang makes it back to his feet and attempts the Boomerang Clothesline, but Cesaro dodges and rolls Wolfgang up for the win. After the match, Jessica enters the ring with a microphone, "Congratulations boys, that match really impressed me, but it didn't impress me enough. Which is why I sent a text to
Brandon during the match requesting that you two face off again on the next show, and he agreed to book the rematch with any stipulation I wanted, and I chose a Tuxedo Match, so make sure you're wearing clean underwear on the next show, because the only way to win the match, is to strip your opponent of their tuxedo down to the their underwear!" Jessica flips her hair and heads to the back, leaving Cesaro and Wolfgang in the ring.
The Change (
Tarry,
Konnor and
Viktor) make their way to the ring. Tarry spots
Rosey and
Sika, the brother and father of Roman Reigns, sitting in the front row. Konnor hands Tarry a microphone, “
Roman Reigns allegedly missed his flight here tonight, which is a huge shame, because this is his hometown, and his family have gathered here to see him. Rosey, Sika, you guys must be disappointed, because I know that we’re disappointed that he no showed this event. The Change have been looking forward to beating up your son again for the past two weeks, and because of his so called ‘travel issues’ we’re going to have to find somebody else to beat up.” Tarry nods at Konnor and Viktor who exit the ring and drag Rosey and Sika over the barricade. They deliver a vicious beat down to Roman Reigns’ family as security tries to intervene. Viktor throws Rosey into the ring who ends up on the receiving end of a One Way Ticket from Tarry. Konnor and Viktor then deliver a devastating Fall of Man of Reigns’ father on the outside. The Change head to the back having sent a clear message to Roman Reigns.
After a quick commercial break,
NFA Commissioner Brandon is standing in the ring with a microphone in hand. “August 20th, the date of NFA 10 will serve as our season finale, and there’s only one event that’s big enough for such an occasion;
SummerMania!” The crowd goes insane for Brandon’s announcement, “But that’s not all, because I’ve decided that whoever walks out as NFA World Heavyweight Champion tonight will be guaranteed to make it to SummerMania as champion. And of course, if we know who’ll be champion going into SummerMania after tonight, then I’m going to have to name a number one contender pretty soon, which is why in two weeks time,
The Rumble returns! The winner of the match will receive a guaranteed NFA World Heavyweight Championship match in the main event of SummerMania!” The crowd chants Brandon’s name as a way to thank him for the not one, but three major announcements as he heads to the back.
Bayley is shown arriving late to the arena, having missed her flight earlier today. As she rushes into the arena, she bumps into
Maryse, knocking Maryse's purse onto the floor, spilling the contents of it. Bayley apologises and tries to help Maryse put everything back into her purse, but as she's doing so, she spots a gun. "It was you!" Bayley exclaims in horror as she finally comes face to face with the woman who shot Burke and tried to frame her for it. "Yes, it was me, and it's too bad that you discovered the truth, because now I have to do this." Maryse grabs the gun and points it at Bayley, preparing to pull the trigger, but all of a sudden,
Burke and the local police force arrive on the scene! The police place Maryse in handcuffs and march her away, as Burke comforts Bayley. It's now up to the police to discover Maryse's motives and to put her behind bars for her devious crimes.
A pre-recorded video airs showing the inside of an underground fight club. A large figure enters into the cage and destroys everyone he's put against. The camera pans zooms in on the face of the large man, revealing him to be none other than,
The Man. Writing then appears on the screen saying, "The Man: Breaking Necks and Cashing Cheques."
It's now time for our main event! Out first is the first challenger,
Seth Rollins, and he receives a nice pop from the crowd. Next is
John Cena, who is on the receiving end of a mixed reaction from the live audience tonight. And finally, here comes the NFA World Heavyweight Champion,
Tiarnán.
John Morrison and
Melina were removed from the building earlier tonight, so he's going this one alone. The bell rings and the match is underway. Tiarnán rolls to the outside, allowing Cena and Rollins to start the match against each other. The two men have a tremendous back and forth until Cena gets the upper hand. Cena hits Rollins with the Protoplex and sets up for the Five Knuckle Shuffle, but Tiarnán re-enters to the ring and hits Cena in a clothesline to the back. Tiarnán turns his attention to Rollins, applying a seated Dragon Sleeper, but Rollins fights out. Cena gets back to his feet, and now he and Rollins are teaming up against Tiarnán. They hit a huge double suplex on the champion, and Cena goes for the cover, but Rollins pulls him off of the champ. Cena and Rollins get in each other's faces, allowing Tiarnán to sneak up and roll both men up, but they both manage to kick out. Rollins hit the Curb Stomp on Tiarnán out of nowhere, and then Cena delivers and thunderous Attitude Adjustment to Rollins. Suddenly the lights go out, and when they come back on, a near eight foot monster is stood in the ring. The monster of a man lifts John Cena into the air and drives him through the ring with a Chokeslam.
Vince McMahon walks out onto the stage and calls for the giant to come to him. The behemoth heads up the ramps towards Vince McMahon and leaves with him. The referee calls for the bell and declares this a no contest.
