I was bummed when it turned out to be a hoax, too. I was perched for the meltdowns.

Kevin Smith: 'Ben Affleck Batman costume will blow your mind'
Kevin Smith has revealed that he has seen an early image of Ben Affleck in the Batman costume.
Smith, who directed Affleck early on in his career, hosted a live Man of Steel Q&A with Zack Snyder, Henry Cavill and Amy Adams for Man of Steel's home release over the weekend.
Speaking on the Hollywood Babble-On podcast after the event, Smith said that Snyder gave him a sneak peek at Affleck's Batsuit for the forthcoming Man of Steel sequel.
"He pulls out his iPhone and he shows me something that, I'm not kidding, I went glassy-eyed and weak in the knees," Smith said. "I saw the Batman costume. I saw a picture of [Affleck] in the costume. I instantly air-hugged him."
Smith spoke in more detail about the outfit, adding that it was a departure from previous screen incarnations of the suit and hinting that it was inspired by a particular comic book storyline.
"You have not seen this costume on film before - for a comic book fan it was mind-bending," he explained. "Everyone always does this Matrix-y armour thing... there wasn't a single nipple on this suit. It was fantastic.
"The costume, it blew my mind. I think you'll be happy, everyone will be like, 'Holy s**t'. It's its own thing, we haven't been down this path before."
The Man of Steel sequel, rumoured to be titled Superman vs Batman, will see Amy Adams, Diane Lane and Laurence Fishburne return to the cast. The blockbuster will open in cinemas on July 17, 2015.
Any guesses?

"He pulls out his iPhone and he shows me something that, I'm not kidding, I went glassy-eyed and weak in the knees," Smith said. He showed Big Kev a picture of a triple chocolate donut? Really, I wouldn't put much stock into anything Kevin Smith says about this movie. He loves Ben Affleck to death. Even if he ends up being the worst Batman ever he'd still probably not say anything bad about it. I remember he even defended Daredevil.

I remember he even defended Daredevil. In fairness, the director's cut is actually a pretty decent movie. He probably defended the horrible theatrical version though, right?

Man of Steel: Shadow of the Knight would be a badass name for the movie. I hope that's the one they go with.

Battle the Knight and Knight Falls are super corny, and Darkness Falls and The Darkness Within sound like horror films. Shadow of the Knight and The Blackest Hour are kinda cool though.

Darkness Falls and Beyond Darkness were both terrible horror movies. The Blackest Hour just reminds me too much of Green Lantern's oath.
