Oh, so you brought it up to give me ammunition? Yeah, ok. No one has to give you anything. You attempt to skew things quite much all by your lonesome. And the slow pace and weird offense were just as bad as the so-called 'botches', which don't even really classify as botches. Of course they don't. Guaranteed if it were the other way around, they would though. Maryse's running wasn't responsible for Melina's mistakes here. Trish had the benefit of six years of mic time to practise, and was constantly pushed heavily so that she'd achieve maximum popularity. Trish was adept at crowd connection and comfortable at speaking before she even debuted on WWF tv. She hardly needed six years to perfect her craft there. The F/E gave her platform to demonstrate her non actual wrestling abilities and apply them to their product. But she had the base talents already. They did improve her ringwork greatly. That is true. But she strived to improve and deserves credit there. And Trish had the benefit of wrestling almost exclusively with the likes of Molly, Victoria and Jazz for years. Excluding the occasional match or two, Trish never had to put up with women on the level of Maria, Candice, early Michelle, Alicia, Maryse etc. Melina proved in her matches with Trish, Mickie, Michelle and Beth that she can go with the best of them if actually given a solid opponent. We can also see things like Melina's return to Raw match in Fall '09 vs Jillian. Who is certainly a capable worker. Didn't help their. And Trish's matches improved over time. I liked her work opposite a post acl-Jazz more than pre. And post was a slower not yet back up to her past standards Jazz. Hey, I was just pointing out that all of your favourites seem to share those similar characteristics. I doubt you'd be so willing to praise Torrie Wilson if she wasn't blonde. Just saying. As a performer, Torrie Wilson clearly lacked for most of her career. She just wasn't as pathetic near the end as she was at the begging. Yeah, that's real "praise." Torrie's no fav of mine, save for thinking she's attractive. And whatever my favorites are, I don't come out beforehand under a pretense of them being flawless performers or incapable of making errors. I'm not saying circumstances don't matter. But you get ridiculous.

Then you bringing that up makes zero sense.
No, but Maryse certainly contributed to the failure of the match.
Melina was also comfortable prior to entering the WWE, which is clear if you bother to watch her mic work and performances in her debut year. She also has more natural athleticism than Trish. My point is that had WWE made nearly as much effort in pushing Melina then her abilities and skills would be so much more apparent. Trish was favoured by the WWE; sure, she took the ball and ran with it, but at least she was given that ball in the first place. Melina got time in her early years, yeah, and she certainly receives more effort than other women, but it's still nothing in comparison to what Trish was given.
Jillian had just returned from what was practically a year long hiatus at that point. And Melina and Jillian have proven that they can put on good matches. So what if they had a few mess-ups here and there? It's not like Trish never botched.
And of course Trish's matches improved over time; she was extremely driven and dedicated, and she had great people to work with. I never debated that. I just doubt she'd be able to handle the likes of Maria and Maryse and Alicia any better than Melina has. I also feel that Melina's Backlash match with Mickie and her I Quit match with Beth were just as good, if not better, than anything Trish has done.

No, but Maryse certainly contributed to the failure of the match. But not the botches. Which was the subpoint. Melina was also comfortable prior to entering the WWE, which is clear if you bother to watch her mic work and performances in her debut year. She's gotten enough exposure over time that atm I'm comfortable saying Trish was better on the mic. Yes Stratus received opportunites like few others. I've seen performers like Rain or Lacey (not TNA's LVE, the other one) do nice entertainment or mic work with quite limited if any opportunity at the big time. She also has more natural athleticism than Trish. The Rock had more natural athleticism than a lot of people who were better wrestlers than him. Wrestling isn't a sports contest. It's a form of athletically theatred entertainment. Jillian had just returned from what was practically a year long hiatus at that point. Well, sort of but not quite all. But specifics there aside, that doesn't automatically lay it at Jillian's feet anyhow. It's not like Trish never botched. I didn't say she never botched. As stated, she wasn't the finest ring worker in her fed of her era either. For note, Trish did get something out of even someone like Jackie Gayda in a tag rematch. The first was infamously bad. But when they met a bit later on, it was pretty pleasant for what it was.
