Anyways now that people are watching this, Jayzero and I need to clock last night's episode, so Burke and MC better swerve. That^ I was caught off guard when Axel got his head blown off. I was expecting the Governor to attack but not at that moment, or even that episode. Both fight scenes were pretty badass. Definitely one of the most exciting episodes they've had. Merle is a total asshole, but like you said, with the whole Glenn having to take over for the lack of leaders, they need him. I was hoping Tyrese would show up in the end too cause him and his girl seem like they can do some damage. Speaking of Glenn taking over, what a mess of a leader he turned out to be. Was he even there for the shootout? Idr. Carl needs to replace Glenn as 3rd in line tbh. That kid has turned into a little badass. I can't wait for next week. I was kinda hoping Woodbury would be ripped apart by zombies after the gate was left open last week but it'll be just as satisfying watching Rick and crew take it down themselves. And as annoying as Andrea can be sometimes, I'll probably mark out when she finally tells the Governor to go screw himself. As for the subject of useless group members, Carol is for sure the top, but I can see Daryl training her and turning her into a good fighter. She's been through some shit, and they've kept her alive for a reason. On the other hand, Beth, who's 2nd on that list, I can see her dropping soon based on the fact that she's teaching Maggie how to care for the baby, which is her sole purpose. I know Maggie went through some shit with the Governor, but girl it's the zombie apocalypse. You gotta get over it and toughen up. But yeah, to end on a lighter note: You godess, you

I was hoping Tyrese would show up in the end too cause him and his girl seem like they can do some damage. Don't read what I'm about to say in this paragraph if you don't want any kind of rumors or spoilers, but the girl (Sasha) is his sister, and apparently the actress is going to be written off soon to join Once Upon a Time, so I wouldn't get my hopes up about her, which is sad because I really liked both of them for the time they were in the prison. Apparently Tyreese has a prominent role in the comics though so I do expect him to join the group soon.
Okay, it's safe to read now. I agree with what you said about Carl and Beth. All though I personally like Beth, she is the most expendable (Hershel too, tbh). But I'd like to see her around longer and fleshed out more. Lol even though her character is like three of four years older than him, and their real life age gap is even more significant, I ship Carl and Beth ever since he tried to bunk with her right in front of Hershel.

Ha, I thought the same thing. If she does make it I'd be down for a Carl and Beth junior romance. They can be next seasons Glenn and Maggie when everyone gets sick of Glenn and Maggie.
And I had heard Tyrese was a badass in the comics. That's why I'm eagerly awaiting his return. He can take the whole group from Rick tbh. Rick can wander off chasing his ghost wife and never come back for all I care.

Re-watching the series made me like the good sis Rick again, so I hope he can snap out of it and find himself. Especially with mental health being such a concern these days. They can be next seasons Glenn and Maggie when everyone gets sick of Glenn and Maggie. What do you mean when everyone gets sick of Glenn and Maggie?

Just finished season 2. Disappointed Dale died. Glad Shane died. Carl is starting to get annoying.
That season finale (and the whole season basically) was amazing. Old man Hershel was popping off shotgun shells like he was Clint Eastwood. Who knew he had it in him. And lol at the two useless characters (Patricia? and the other guy - I still can't remember their names really) being the ones to die. This shit is like cocaine though. I'm pretty much addicted. I'm not sure I can wait the 6 months or whatever until season 3 is out on Blu-Ray.

Thanks! I watched the first episode of season 3. I like Beth now. Her, Daryl, Maggie and Glenn are pretty much my joint favourites at this point. And I already know I'm going to like the crazy chick who's helping Andrea and leading her two zombie prisoners around.
Poor Hershel though. And just when I was starting to trust him and stop expecting him to go all Christoper Lee in The Wicker Man on everybody.

I’m fully caught up with season 3 now. Oh, Hershel survived that ordeal at the end of the first episode after all. I thought for sure he was a goner. I’m glad he didn’t die though. With Dale gone the group needs a wise old man to help guide them.
The episode where Lori died and the last one were probably my favourites of the season so far.
I like Michonne and Tyreese and I’m glad it looks like Merle is joining the group. They needed more people.
All the stuff at the prison has been great all season. I love Rick going crazy and everyone else having to step up because he’s in his own little world right now. Him seeing Lori standing at the top of the stairs was so creepy.
The Woodbury stuff is boring as fuck though. At first I was interested in seeing where the Governor’s creepiness was going but now idgaf tbh and just wish he’d die already so we can go back to fully focusing on the others.

Thoughts on last night: I loved Herschle finally telling Rick to snap out of it.
Carl telling Rick to step down reminded me of a Snickers commercial. "Dad, eat a Snickers... you get a little crazy when you're hungry"
Andrea reuniting with the group felt so awkward and uneasy. She's not a member of the family anymore. I wish Michonne would've added a *snap* *snap* after her little chat with her.
And ughughg at Andrea having the chance to kill "Phillip" and not doing it. How does she not see how evil this guy is? She's seen everything everyone else has seen. It's annoying me.
I'm still waiting for Tyrese to join up with the group. The 2 white guys he's with are totally going to die, and I think his sister is going to side with Woodbury since Rick is such a fucking psycho.
In closing: Glenn is such a little bitch now.

That was by far the best episode this season. I didn't miss the rest of the cast at all. I missed the simple feel this show used to have. There are so many characters and so much crap going on now that it was nice to escape and take a break from all that. For the first time this season I didn't hate Rick, and it didn't hurt this episode at all that Michonne got a shit ton of screen time.
Her and Carl's little adventure was fun and I like that she's becoming an official part of the group now.
Having said all that, the hitchhiker thing was fucked up. But whataya gonna do? Zombie apocalypse. Shit happens, then you die, then turn into a flesh eating monster and die again.

Having said all that, the hitchhiker thing was fucked up. I mentioned this to a friend because I felt the same way, and they pointed out that it probably would have just turned into another debate on whether they should kill him or risk letting him go ( instead of, you know, taking him in) and I realized that without Dale or Andrea around, the group would've unanimously decapitated him anyway, so he was better off fending for himself. They had a lot of nerve to pick up his supplies tho. But I guess if I were at the prison and they brought the bag back and told me what happened, I'd side-eye, but I'd also wanna break bread with whatever was in the bag, so.

This was one of my top 2 or 3 episodes of the season. I'm glad they caught up with Morgan. I had been expecting him to show back up again at some point.
Something that is kinda weird to me though is that after all this time they're still in the same basic area they have been since the whole thing started. The town where Rick originally lived, the centre of Atlanta, the campsite from season one, the CDC building, Hershel's farm, the prison, Woodbury, etc. All of these are clearly supposed to be within a fairly short proximity of each other even though like 6 months+ was supposed to have passed between the end of season 2 and the beginning of season 3 where they were on the road (I know they half-heartedly tried to explain their lack of progress at the beginning of the season when Glenn or someone was like "it feels like we've been going in circles for months" - but come on, we're supposed to believe they spent months travelling and ended up exactly where they already were??).
It's clear that there must be a LOT of other survivors across the country and beyond if this one fairly small area alone has their group, the Woodbury group, that group who helped the old folk in season one, the group who attacked them in the bar in season two and all the other people they've come across. If there are people who can survive on their own like Morgan had for months and like Merle managed before he came across Woodbury then there are clearly a lot of others elsewhere.
It just seems strange that they haven't tried to get to other states/countries, get to the nearest ocean, etc. No way in hell would I be sitting in the same spot for a year waiting to die when I have vehicles and weapons at my disposal. I'd be halfway to fucking Hong Kong by now. Or maybe I'd have found myself a nice little tropical island or some shit to call my own.
I know I'm over analysing things but I always do with shows I like, lol.

I was saying the same damn thing last night to my brother.
Why the hell are they staying at the prison? The only reason they stayed in the first place was because they used all their ammo clearing it out and were low on supplies. Now they have all these guns they just jacked from Morgan. Take the guns, stock up on the food from the prison, get as far away from the Governor as possible and make home somewhere else.
This is why I say the characters in this show are idiots.

I'm guessing they'll finally move on from Georgia (that is where they still are right? - or at least the surrounding area??) at the end of this season/beginning of next season.
I hope next season they're on the move a lot. They were at the farm for the whole of season 2 and the prison for the whole of season 3. I want things to be a little more chaotic next season.
