I took advantage of a half price deal at the Odeon today and finally saw Wonder Woman for just £3.62. I really enjoyed the movie, with the highlight being the No Man's Land scene. Gal Gadot was perfect, even more so than in Batman V. Superman. This being an origin movie did result in it taking a little time to get going, but it was worth it in the end. My biggest problem with the movie was how obvious the Ares twist was, I predicted it as soon as David Thewlis appeared on screen.

I wasn't a fan of the casting, though. Nothing about him said Ares. I think I twigged because his moustache reminded of the New 52 version of Ares' beard, lol. So physically he was right if that was the version they were going for, in every other way it was a total miss.

Wonder Woman popped up for free online in HD so I watched it. As much as I'd like to support, I didn't have any money to give and she clearly don't need it anyway. It was really good. So far they've been very good at making Diana likable, cause let's be honest, in every other form of media she's always a bitch. So I really like this take on the character. It obviously reminded me a lot of the first Captain America, which is one of Marvels best movies, and I do feel like it being an origin story helped it a lot. I liked Gal and Chris' chemistry, and I liked how they kinda swapped the gender roles, making him more the damsel, but still keeping him a hero too. The Ares twist got me too. I knew Danny Houston wasn't him, (god, why is that guy in EVERYTHING??), but I wasn't expecting it to be Lupin. He was hamming it up during that final fight tho, that was probably the messiest part of the movie for me. I got hard every time that electric cello kicked in tho. I can't wait for JL and WW2, and I'm glad the director is staying on for the sequel cause she was great.

I saw Wonder Woman last night and loved it. Gal Gadot was amazing. And I've never liked Chris Pine in anything I've seen him in up until now but he was great too. This may have been explained and I didn't notice, but why can't Diana ever return to her island? Like what's stopping her from doing it? It seems like humans can pass through no problem.

She wouldn't be able to find her way back, because it's not on a map and the cloaking around it scrambles navigation systems. Also, if she did find her way back, her enemies could follow and that could jeopardise the peace and isolation that they've upheld for centuries, just like what happened when the Germans followed Steve onto the island.

I like how we're using spoiler tags even though every single on of us has seen the movie. But anyway, I didn't even notice them say she couldn't go back. When was that?

Putting stuff in spoilers makes your post seem more important though.
