He wore the black suit when he returned to life at the end of Reign of the Supermen, after having died fighting Doomsday a year earlier. He didn't have his powers when he first came back though, so he was forced to use guns to level the playing field.

It just clicked with me that the DCEU can have literally any DC Comics character show up, because unlike Marvel they actually own the film rights to all of their characters. The MCU will never be complete without the X-Men or the Fantastic Four, and Fox should definitely hold on to the X-Men characters, because they're doing a really great job with them.

I don't know what my point is, I think I'm just excited to realise that DC will never have any problems with using any character they require for a story, so they'll never have to substitute another character into the role of another that they don't have the rights to.

Batman will face comic book villain Deathstroke, played by “True Blood” star Joe Manganiello, in Ben Affleck’s first solo movie playing the Dark Knight.

Affleck recently shared a video online of Manganiello in his Deathstroke get-up, but didn’t reveal the actor underneath the mask or what role the character would play in upcoming films.

The actor is also known for his role in the “Magic Mike” Movies.

DC Entertainment president and chief creative officer Geoff Johns confirmed the casting in his first interview discussing his new role overseeing Warner Bros.’ movies based on DC Comics characters.

He declined to comment on whether Deathstroke has a cameo in “Justice League,” which is currently shooting in London.

Johns also declined to say when the Batman movie will be released, although the earliest it could likely hit theaters is 2018.

Johns and Affleck are writing the script for the new Batman movie, which will be directed by Affleck.

Not that I'm against the casting or anything like that, but I'm surprised they went with someone who looks similar to Manu Bennett who played Arrow's version of Deathstroke




Not complaining though, both are ridiculously attractive.

I think Joe Manganiello is definitely the right man for the job, but I just have two problems with it. 1) it was really obvious casting, and the DCEU have prided themselves on their out of the box castings, most of which have worked tremendously (Jesse Eisenberg being the one that didn't work at all). I'd have preferred him to play Shazam. And 2) I would have liked to have seen someone more closely tied to Batman as the villain of his movie, like Red Hood, as B previously mentioned. I think they should have saved Deathstroke for Suicide Squad 2 or a Teen Titans movie.

Mel Gibson: Batman vs. Superman was a piece of shit

Over the weekend at the Venice film festival, Mel Gibson launched an attack on comic-book movies, comparing their protagonists unfavourably with the real-life hero in his new movie, Hacksaw Ridge.

“The difference between a real superhero and a comic-book superhero,” said Gibson, “is that real superheroes didn’t wear any Spandex.”

And on Tuesday, Gibson renewed his campaign against the stretchy stuff in an interview with Deadline, repeating his quote and adding: “Spandex must cost a lot.”

Gibson had one particular film in his cross hairs: the critically unloved Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, which he called “a piece of shit”.

Andrew Garfield stars as decorated conscientious objector Desmond Doss in Gibson’s highly effective shot at a major directorial comeback.

The film arose in conversation when Gibson compared its budget with the more modest spend on Hacksaw Ridge. The director said that he looked at $200m movies “and scratch my head. I’m really baffled by it. I think there’s a lot of waste, but maybe if I did one of those things with the green screens I’d find out different.

“It seems to me that you could do it for less … You’re spending outrageous amounts of money, $180m or more, I don’t know how you make it back after the taxman gets you, and after you give half to the exhibitors.”

His anti-semitic ass is probably still losing sleep over them casting a Jewish person as Wonder Woman.

I remember stories about people fainting and having heart attacks in the cinema when that came out because it was so shocking to them.

Then when I eventually watched it I couldn't stop laughing because all I could think about was those South Park episodes from around that time making fun of Mel Gibson and the movie.

This is like the third time they've announced Harley Quinn's spinoff movie, but I guess it's finally official. They're doing Gotham City Sirens (for Burke, that's the trio of Harley, Poison Ivy and Catwoman).

Actually, I think before they were calling it a Birds of Prey movie, so I wonder if Batgirl and Black Canary are still gonna be in it? I hope so.

Apparently Megan Fox recently ordered a bunch of significant Harley Quinn/Poison Ivy comics, so people are speculating that she's up for the role of Poison Ivy and researching it.
