Daniel Cudmore is appearing in Dark Phoenix, but he said he can't reveal who he's playing, meaning it's probably not Colossus again. People are speculating that he's playing Gladiator.

I love how this franchise is able to change genre at will. I can't wait for this, even though I have no idea what New Mutants is, lol

I love how this franchise is able to change genre at will. I can't wait for this, even though I have no idea what New Mutants is, lol Basically they're the X-Men's version of Teen Titans. Initially when it was announced, I wasn't feeling Magik/Illyana's actress but then B said that I can't have Dianna Agron play every blonde character I like. But I'm super excited for Magik because the actress looks great. Honestly I'm excited for everyone. I'm still really bummed about how Emma Frost and Psylocke were let downs, but at least Magik and Polaris have been promising so far.

The Wendy Williams fainting memes are so inappropriate, but I screamed.

Can they PLEASE just let production on Dark Phoenix continue and let it be the franchise’s swan song?

The X-Men movies have become my favourite of all the superhero franchises out there, so this development is really disappointing.
At least Hugh Jackman was given his curtain call before this happened, its just a shame the rest of the cast didn't get to have their's. And no, those couple scenes in Days of Future Past don't count.

They won't stop Dark Phoenix, Deadpool, or New Mutants from being released as all of them are finished filming. I'd imagine the Gambit movie won't pull through though. But I don't think it ever was because it had been pushed back a few times already.
I have mixed feelings about this though.

New Mutants got pushed back from April of this year, to January of next year so it wouldn't clash with Deadpool 2.
Fuck Deadpool. Not everyone is a goddamn fan.

Also Kitty Pryde is getting her own movie, the XForce movie is still in development, and Gambit lost another director.

I've just got back from seeing Dark Phoenix and I'm really not understanding why it's getting such bad reviews. Is it the best X-Men movie? No. Is it the worst? Hell no. It is an anti climatic way to end the series, but I had fun watching it. I really, really loved the cameo from Dazzler

I think it was just so underwhelming, especially being the franchise finale. Instead of the Shi'ar we got generic alien villains. Apocalypse was hokey at times, but the stakes certainly felt high and there were a lot of exciting action scenes where heroes and villains alike go to be cool. The battle in the streets of New York could have been really exciting, but both Storm and Cyclops got whooped by their opponents and had to be assisted by Xavier literally shutting the people they were fighting down so they could deliver a final blow. That made them both look like shit. đź’€ Then I got really excited when Xavier and Jean made peace in her mind-scape and she saw what was happening to everyone and woke herself up and broke her chains and levitated for a final showdown with Jessica Chastain, and I thought, okay, this is gonna make up for this having been a really mediocre movie, but the climax wasn't even exciting! It was just a lot of swirling CGI energy and hair blowing in the wind. In Apocalypse when Jean entered the astral plane to assist Xavier in fighting Apocalypse, I got chills and had to grip the arms of my chair because I knew what they were about to do and couldn't believe they were going to do it - in a good way! With Dark Phoenix, we never get a moment like that. Where you're like, holy shit. There were no exciting twists or reveals or change in alliances beyond Magneto rejoining them again, which is a cliche at this point. Oh, and I was taken out of the movie the minute Beast wanted to kill Jean for accidentally killing Mystique. I know the movie universe is it's own thing and I came to accept that, especially with Mystique's characterization, but I couldn't enjoy him after that. Hank McCoy would never, ever ever ever want to kill Jean Grey. And why the FUCK were he and Mystique still walking around in their human forms?!
I will say I thought the Phoenix storyline itself was very well done to accommodate the movie. I liked that they still made it a cosmic force that possesses her and changed it so that instead of it giving her this great power and making her really strong, she was already strong and therefor able to survive being possessed by it. It worked and was simple and clean, because that could have gotten very convoluted lol. And this was easily my favorite depiction of Cyclops in the whole franchise. Tye Sheridan did great and I'll miss him in the role when Disney brings them in in a few years.
