Oh hell yeah. It looks badass. It might surprise alot of people and end up being the best superhero movie this year. Avengers has alot of hype and might be a little too crowded, and there's no way Dark Knight Rises will live up to Dark Knight. Spider-Man might win this battle.
That first trailer was just bad. This movie looks nothing like the first.

I swear I let out a little yelp when battered Peter/Andrew did that cute goofy smile to Aunt May at the end before showing her the eggs. He's amazing.

I liked it alot, and I look forward to the sequels, but there were a few things they could've done better.
There wasn't much character development for anyone besides Peter, and I think the directing wasn't the best.
Having said that, Andrew Garfield was a much much better Spider-Man than Tobey Macguire, and Emma Stone kinda made the movie for me. Their scenes together were great. They had amazing chemistry.
I give it a 7/7.5

We kick this thread off the same as the last, with a Mary-Jane casting rumor: Shailene Woodley in Talks for 'Spider-Man 2'
Shailene Woodley, the actress who broke out in George Clooney's The Descendants, is in early talks to join Andrew Garfield in Columbia’s Spider-Man 2, THR has confirmed.
Woodley has been offered the role of Mary Jane Watson, the perennial red-headed love interest of Pater Parker in the Spider-Man comics. The role was previously played by Kirsten Dunst in the Tobey Maguire Spider-Man trilogy.
Columbia just closed deals with Marc Webb to return to the director’s chair after this summer’s web-head reboot, Amazing Spider-Man, grossed $752 million worldwide. The studio also closed deals with Garfield to reprise the title role and Emma Stone to return as Gwen Stacy.
The stage is now set for an angst-filled love triangle.
Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach are producing the sequel. Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci wrote the latest draft of the script, which is being kept locked tight. The studio has not yet revealed who the villain will be, for example.
Woodley stars in ABC Family’s The Secret Life of an American Teenager when she nabbed the role of George Clooney’s daughter in last year’s awards darling, The Descendants. The gig nabbed her numerous award nominations, including a Golden Globe nom for best supporting actress, as well as a win from the Independent Spirit Awards.
Teenager was canceled earlier this week, and will return for the final episodes of the season in March 2013.  Next please |

Secret Life of the American Teenager really is the worst television show in the history of television. I'm not even excluding the American version of Coupling and According to Jim. The acting is pretty awful too even the kids on the show are horrible actors.
Anyway, I hope she doesn't get it. They should give the role to Julianne Moore and make Mary Jane a MILF. I would be first in line to see it.
