Okay, so obviously the people who turned to dust at the end of the movie will be resurrected somehow, but who's left who can do that? You guys mentioned Scarlet Witch could do something like that, but obviously she's gone so it's likely not going to be her. Can Captain Marvel do something like that? I know literally nothing about her, so I'm not sure what her powers really are. Could Ant-Man shrink small enough to move backwards through time itself, or is that a ridiculous suggestion? I have no idea how they'll get themselves out of this and I love that. Marvel killing off half of their universe somehow breathed all new life into it.

Can Captain Marvel do something like that? If you're familiar with the 90's animated X-Men series, she has exactly the same powers Rogue had in that, because Rogue stole them from her. So flight, super strength and durability.
As far as I know, Scarlet Witch and Doctor Strange are the only ones who could change things back with their powers, and they're both gone, so I wonder what they have up their sleeve to bring them all back.

The director of the Guardians of the Galaxy movies tweets a lot of creepy stuff about children.

He posted a five tweet explanation/apology but at no point did he actually apologise for saying any of those things.
Also, this tweet is just weird:
The fact that he tweeted about this one subject as many times as he did just seems incredibly twisted. He should really be investigated, just in case the tweets aren't just jokes. It's better to be safe than sorry.
I'm a fan of his work, but this is inexcusable. Paedophilia and child abuse is not a joke.

The same people who rejoiced when Roseanne (rightfully) lost her show are out there defending James Gunn. I'm sorry, but both of their tweets were as bad as each other and they've both got what they deserve.
One excuse that people keep bringing up is that it was a long time ago when he was younger, but he was still in his 40s when he tweeted them, its not like he was a dumb 18 year old.

Personally speaking I didn’t think the jokes I saw were anymore colorful than what most of us have laughed at on South Park or Drawn Together. Most of the ones I saw were around 8 years ago, and the social climate was very different. And I don’t think comparing his tweets to her calling a black woman a monkey are exactly comparable, but yeah. He got taken down because he tried too hard to be Mr. Morally Superior. If he hadn’t, nothing would have ever become of his tweets. All I can do is laugh since it’s so ironic.
And I just wanna let it be known that I’m not a fan. I thought GotG 2 was trash, and I’m cackling @ the MCU taking an L. I just think it’s extreme how people are acting like he’s ACTUALLY a convicted pedophile, for making jokes, and that it was the right who got him fired, when they’d typically defend this behavior from someone of their own, and mock the people upset about it for “needing a safe space” and going on and on about freedom of speech and snowflakes, etc. It’s all so hysterically weird.

Personally speaking I didn’t think the jokes I saw were anymore colorful than what most of us have laughed at on South Park or Drawn Together. The big difference there though is that when you watch South Park or Drawn Together, or any of those kind of shows, you know what you're in for. Those are fictional characters making those jokes, whereas James Gunn was a 40 year old man joking about touching kids, that's what makes it different for me at least. And I don’t think comparing his tweets to her calling a black woman a monkey are exactly comparable, but yeah. This wasn't the best comparison to make, and I know I was wrong for doing that. A better comparison would have been the same people essentially crucifying Mark Duplass for a tweet the other day are now going out of their way to defend James Gunn. It's just weird that they go to the extreme for something trivial and not when someone has tweeted some pretty shocking things. You know they would have attacked someone for the same tweets if they weren't on their side when it comes to politics. I am a fan of James Gunn. Super is one of my favourite movies, and I loved both Guardians movies. I don't think he should have been fired without some kind of investigation, to lose your job over some dumb tweets is ridiculous, but as I said before, he was in his 40s when he tweeted them and any sane adult knows not to tweet shit like that. But yeah, the campaign to have him fired being led by the right, who as you said would defend this behaviour from one of their own, is like some kind of parody. Anyway, this is probably the last time I talk about this unless more comes out. I really hope that the tweets were just jokes and there isn't something more sinister to him. I hope if that's the case that he lands on his feet and creates more cool stuff. I just feel let down by him.

The more I think about it, the more I think it’s kinda sad. I just saw this morning where he already apologized for tweeting things like that in 2012, before he even worked for Disney. So, he’d already admitted he was wrong and changed. Everyone wants so badly to throw stones in today’s cultural climate, including him, and he should be the standard now for that maybe not being such a good idea unless you’ve made no mistakes since conception, which none of us have. I can honestly say that MC and Mal are probably the only two of us on here who haven’t massively inserted their feet into their mouths at some point in our 8 years, so I’m not going to witch hunt someone else who’s done the same. But mostly I replied because I wanna say that Disney themselves have a worse past than Mr. Gunn. Have they ever apologized for their racist characters? And hey, even if they have, and even though they were a long time ago, I guess that doesn’t account for anything, according to their own actions. And I’m sure they’ll still pump out special anniversary editions of movies like Dumbo and Peter Pan all the same.
So in closing, again, it’s all so cripplingly hypocritical, it’s starting to feel like we’re in the Twilight Zone.

I think this one is kind of iffy and even a bit hypocritical. One Gunn's jokes were gross, regardless of context. I agree with Tarry about 'it was ten years ago' or however long it was because it's not like he was that much younger, but also jokes like that are super uncomfortable. But Disney is super hypocritical about this too because regardless of what the cultural climate was like, they're no stranger do doing offensive things.
I think it's hard with James Gunn because for the most part I agree with his politics and in today's climate you need the allies you can get. But I know my bias clouds my judgement because I'm trying to brush it off. Personally I don't think he's a pedophile. Of course it shouldn't matter because you shouldn't be making gross jokes like that to start with. I don't know honestly. They'll probably bring him back on and come up with an excuse or a reason like they docked his pay or somethin.

I finally made myself sit and watch the first season of Daredevil so I could watch Jessica Jones. I didn't really care for season one of Daredevil, but I didn't hate it.
Season one of Jessica Jones was really good though, definitely the best of the Marvel Netflix shows I've watched so far. After that I watched season two of Daredevil which was much better than the first, but the season was still at least three episodes too long so it started to drag near the end.
I was really looking forward to Luke Cage, but the first season of that has been a complete slog. These shows don't need thirteen 60 minute episodes per season, because there's just not enough story to drag across that many episodes. This season in particular feels like it takes so many steps back per episode to try and delay the conclusion. This one really could have ended around halfway through the season.
I'm dreading watching Iron Fist next, I've heard it's the worst of the bunch.

Loved Jessica Jones but I couldn't get into Daredevil or Luke Cage so I never made it past a couple of episodes. I did however finish Iron Fist pretty quickly. I don't know if it's just because I wasn't as familiar with that backstory or what. I did watch it after watching The Defenders and didn't feel lost not watching the others first. I don't know if that helps you or not.
