Alberto Del Rio:
"When I was a little kid I saw my dad wrestle against everybody – against Hogan, against Andre the Giant, against great Mexican wrestlers. But I think I became a pro wrestler because when I was like six or seven years old I saw my father losing his title in Mexico, the UWA Heavyweight Title. He wrestled against Vader and he lost his title that day. I remember I was so angry, and so upset and so sad at the same time, that I remember, even though I was so little, that I said 'I’m going to be a pro wrestler and someday I’m going to kick his butt."
Alex Riley:
"The Rock and Triple H, when Shane McMahon was the guest referee [at Backlash 2000]. Triple H was in his heyday and I was a huge Triple H fan. Stone Cold came out at the end and they just involved everyone. They had a great, 40-minute, technical wrestling match and they involved some theatrics in the finish. Shane was being the ref and was cheating, Vince gets knocked out, they run the two refs who were paid by Vince out, Rock kicks out and that was it. I always thought that Rock and Triple H had great ring chemistry and really performed well together."
Kelly Kelly:
"Stone Cold versus the Rock. Their chemistry together – every time they got in the ring was just amazing. They fed off each other and it’s just something that I strive for with whomever I go against."
Natalya:
"As a fan, I would have to say... I know that it sounds cliché, but one of my favorite matches of all time would be my uncle, Bret “The Hitman” Hart versus the British Bulldog at Summerslam 1992 in Wembley Stadium – that match was revolutionary. My uncle Bret versus Owen at WrestleMania X. Shawn Michaels and Bret Hart’s Iron Man Match – again, revolutionary."
Wade Barrett:
"My favorite match would probably be the main event of SummerSlam in 1992, held in Wembley Stadium in London. It was pretty unique for a major WWE event to be held in the UK, but the main event was Bret “The Hitman” Hart against Davey Boy Smith and it was for the Intercontinental title. As a 12-year-old watching that match I was pretty hyped up and thrilled when the Bulldog won."
Zack Ryder:
"I don’t have an exact favorite, but one of them would be Bret Hart versus Mr. Perfect at SummerSlam 1991. I was there as a kid – it was in Madison Square Garden – and it was just a phenomenal match. The crowd was so hot and Bret Hart was really coming into his own as a singles competitor. It was his chance to break out and he won the Intercontinental Title there for the first time and it was amazing."

Wow, Alex Riley has the same favourite match as me. I loved that match at the time.

No surprise though. She's pretty much living off of Bret Hart fans and hardcore workrate first/only smarks. Which in many cases are essentially one and the same.

Someone pointed out, and I do think it's kind of funny, that Natalya's in this storyline where she's harping on the "models" for not paying their dues or whatever and getting an easy ride, when it's debatable if she would be in the position she's in without her last name. Makes you think.

"I thank her for saying that, because there are a lot of people...a lot of hardcore fans who were angry because of "out of all the matches in history, you picked that one?". Well you know what? Not everybody has watched wrestling since the 70s, 80s, 90s. They haven't. They barely started watching, and if this is the match that they saw that inspired them to learn how to wrestle or inspired them to watch then that's an honour. It may not have been the best match that I've had in my career - I think Alicia Fox is an amazing wrestler; I'm very proud of her - but I think it was a compliment to have her say that."
Preaching the word.
ON TOPIC though, my favourite out of that lot is the SummerSlam 92 'cause the pin at the end was cool.

Aww, Melina defended my girl Ariane? She just bought herself a week off of my list.

I think that's an awfully cynical outlook. Why can't she just be proud of and a fan of her uncle's work? I have relatives who sing, and when people ask me about performances or singers which/who inspire and which I consider my favourites then they come to my head immediately. It's only natural, and I sincerely doubt she's doing it to appeal to a minority of internet fans.

I'm just tired of the excess of boring and/or one dimensional heritage acts being shoved foward or overexposed. There was no reason for DH Smith, Husky Harris, Perfect's son, Ted DiBiase, Tamina, etc. to be getting longterm (or much at all) TV time.
Smarks complain about Cena. But at least he can make people actively want to root for or against him. Unlike the above people.
And I agree with Fizzle about Nattie. Seriously, what does she bring save a last name that enabled her to get and stay on TV and even get crowned while Shantelle Taylor/Taylor Wilde got cut while still in the minors? They are basically the same type of performer, except Taylor is better eye candy.

Cody Rhodes is stepping out into the spotlight at the minute and it looks like Ted's about to follow. You need to give them a chance, most of them have only been there five minutes.

Seriously, what does she bring save a last name that enabled her to get and stay on TV She brings a huge amount of wrestling talent. You can brush it aside all you like, but ultimately the cornerstone of a good division is good wrestling. It's not like Molly Holly was a beacon of personality in the eyes of a lot of people, but she's still labelled as one of the best female wrestlers (if not the best) in the company's history by fans and employees alike. Natalya is very similar to Molly imo (albeit not quite as amazing) in that she brings professionalism to the table, not to mention likeability, and above all skills that can help the younger, less experienced girls to move forward. And this isn't coming from a "work-rate obsessed fan", or whatever you called it. It's coming from someone who can appreciate talent when he sees it. To be frank, I think Nattie's ability should be obvious to anyone with decent eyesight. Just saying. People see Trish Stratus as the best Diva in history, but she would have been nothing had she not been able to compete with the likes of Molly and Jazz, who helped her to improve and become a far better wrestler than anyone could have expected. If WWE want to create more stars in their less experienced girls then they're going to have to pair them off with the women who know what they're doing. And Natalya is pound for pound the best female wrestler fundamentally they have on the roster.

Cody Rhodes is stepping out into the spotlight at the minute and it looks like Ted's about to follow. You need to give them a chance, most of them have only been there five minutes. I kind of always liked Rocky and saw potential. Sure, he improved greatly over time. I'd get into the comments back then on the iwc about how he should have been cut and all, but that's another topic I suppose. I'm still not really an Orton fan. As main eventers go, I don't think he's been highly successful. Though in his case I can at least see why some people like him. He plays a psycho on the edge type well. So fair enough. Though it took years of forcing him when he rather obviously wasn't particulary over to get what amounts to the #2 guy in a weak era. Cody I'd give you. But that doesn't mean every person with a heritage should be getting masses of TV time. And Rhodes wasn't really ready when he was first bought up either. Hence why we got comments like how DiBiase and him are "More Better." I can agree with patience. At the same time, I still don't see a justification for most I named being on television much if at all. Get them at least halfway ready and flubs somewhat more smoothed out before you toss them out there for all to see. She brings wrestling talent? So did Taylor. The WWE doesn't generally allow time frames for it's women that are going to take advantage of the extra star/half star Nattie might be able to typically get. Molly was by no means a Trish or Ivory on the speaker or in personality, but she wasn't an outright liability on it either. Nattie pretty much seems so. Honestly the cornerstone of a product in the E tends to be more personality oriented. Hogan was not mass because of a few matches overseas he had that were actually pretty good. He was mass because he took his vitamins and said his prayers. And because he beat Andre the Giant in what was actually a rather poorly done match from a smarks perspective. Rock was also never a technical workrate performer. But he was a centerpiece of the Attitude Era. Austin was technically proficient. But it was the Stone Cold character and his feud with a non wrestler that most made him a megastar. Stratus and Lita were the big stars of the GA of Divas. Neither were the technical workers of the division. Or even as good as Victoria at her best (before she started mouthing people.) Pre injury Jazz was better than either too. And no one cared unless she was beating the stuffing out of Lita or (usually) Trish.
