Oh, that was totally the new show that was on last night, wasn't it? I kind of half watched it, but it didn't really click for me that it was the new one. Most likely but I wouldn't worry, the first episode probably just set up the series and didn't feature much action. And there's 9 episodes after that one so it should pick up, right?

Well, me half watching wasn't so much a case of me not finding it interesting as it was me doing other shit. From what I did see it seemed like there was a lot going on. I think something blew up, but I can't be sure. I'll give it a proper viewing next time I see it on.

It took 24 minutes for the Captain to appear on screen but it was well worth the wait. I loved him using the alias "Owen Harper FBI" as a tribute to our beloved Doctor Owen Harper. The scene with the guy that had been involved in an explosion but had survived it due to Miracle Day was genius. So far this Americanisation is working perfectly. Even Gwen and Rhys aren't being annoying. Still 20 minutes left of the episode.

Not missing Ianto in the slightest. I want undead Owen back. And a visit from Captain John wouldn't be too much of an ask, would it?

"The first sign of trouble you run off with Captain Jack bollocks!" - Rhys' greatest line.

Jack's human again. That sucks.
Glad to see they never forgot that Torchwood is on the run from the police. Usually RTD would forget all about that.

Ugh, idiots pointing out that Jack can't die because he turns into the Face of Boe somewhere down the line.
When Jack told the Doctor that he's the Face of Boe, that was just Jack being Jack. The people that still don't get Jack's sense of humour should just stop watching.
Watch the scene for yourself, he only says it to wind up the Doctor.

The BBC has confirmed that it has cut a sex scene from an upcoming episode of Torchwood: Miracle Day.
The moment featured Captain Jack (John Barrowman) sleeping with a barman and is expected to be shown in the US on cable network Starz, The Sun reports.
However, the scene will be cut from the UK broadcast as it was allegedly deemed inappropriate for a primetime slot on BBC One.
"It wasn't that it was a gay scene that worried people, but just the fact that it was such an explicit sex scene full stop," a source said. "You can get away with scenes like that on American cable channels, but you can't on primetime BBC One.
"Even though the show airs after the watershed, it has a lot of young fans who would have been shocked at the graphic nature of the sex."
A BBC spokesperson confirmed that the scene will not be shown in the UK, adding that a violent moment will also be cut later in the series.
"The UK and US versions of Torchwood are slightly different," the spokesperson said. "However, these differences do not change the story in any way and the strong storylines are first and foremost to the series."
Barrowman, who has previously said that Jack has "full-on boy sex" in the show, recently admitted that he would like to make a Torchwood movie.
Torchwood: Miracle Day airs on Fridays at 10pm on Starz in the US and on Thursdays at 9pm on BBC One in the UK.
I knew it. Not that I actually wanted to see it but it's ridiculous that the BBC can't show stuff like this in 2011.

I'm watching this again, surprisingly. I was gonna come on and suggest we have Torchwood viewing parties, like less fun versions of the Queer as Folk viewing parties, but as I write this I realize we're in different timezones. And I get the show before you. So yeah... nevermind.

I don't really like serious Jack. He's got a good reason to be serious and slightly depressed though. He killed his grandson, his daughter disowned him and his boyfriend was murdered during Children of Earth

I like this slow rebuild of the Torchwood Institute. We have Jack and Gwen retaining their original spots. Esther is replacing Tosh and Vera is replacing Owen. Rex isn't quite a Ianto and we didn't know much about Suzie, so I don't know where he'll fit in.
