Vox Lux - An interesting movie about a troubled popstar. There were some really shocking scenes.
The Frozen Ground - One of the few Nicolas Cage movies that's just okay. Normally they're either amazing or terrible.

Earthquake Bird - Psychological thriller starring Alicia Vikander. Pretty good. The Japanese setting made it more interesting than it otherwise would have been.
The Mule - I don't know how Clint Eastwood is still able to direct and star in these movies at 89 years old but not only does he do it but they're usually of a high quality.
Little Monsters - Lupita Nyong'o is a teacher who has to save a bunch of kids when there's a zombie outbreak. I wasn't feeling it. I'm not even sure who the target audience is. Some parts are too violent for young kids and it's not really good enough to satisfy adults either.

I had somehow gone all these years without seeing Forrest Gump. I finally watched it last night. Yeah, it pretty much lived up to the hype.

I watched Purple Rain the other night. I was shocked by how nonsensical it was considering it had one of the most basic plots ever. Hayley had to stop watching it with me because she felt like the scenes were being played on shuffle.
Having said that, I loved it in a weird way, but it's probably only because of how incredible Purple Rain the album is.

Insidious: The Last Key - Okay. None of the sequels are as good as the original.
Mid 90's - Good coming of age movie.
Dolemite Is My Name - I haven't watched an Eddie Murphy movie in years but this was hilarious.

John Wick 3.
I keep expecting this series to fall off but they’re all great.

The King.
Pretty good. It felt like a long Game of Thrones episode and then I looked it up and one of the main battles depicted in the film was a famous one which was used as inspiration for GoT when they were filming the Battle of the Bastards.

I'm doing my yearly binge of all the recent(ish) movies I've been wanting to see.
The Lighthouse - The Witch is one of my favourite horror movies so I had high hopes for this. It was just okay though.
Knives Out - Modern murder mystery movie with a great cast. I really liked it.
Ready or Not - Horror/comedy about a woman who is hunted by her new family on her wedding night as part of a weird ritual. There are a few hilarious moments and it works well as a horror too.
