Well I guess it is better than her spider lady gimmick. It still won't get me interested in Tara though.

I don't get the logic of making Vel Vel & Sabin a couple on screen. But I know TNA wants to be "real" right now.

They better let Angelina & Velvet win the KO tag titles before they get rid of them.

We will see if this is even true. I sort of hope not. Timing to shed them doesn't seem the best. TNA has really mismanaged that division.

Unless plans change in the next two weeks, I am told that two matches that will be added to the Final Resolution PPV are Brother Ray vs. Brother Devon and Madison Rayne vs. Mickie James vs. Tara vs. Sarita in a four way match for the Knockouts Championship.

So no Beautiful People at Final Resolution huh? Figures.

Another thing how does Madison keep getting away with not defending the KO title? She hasn't defended it on TV or PPV since she won it. Using TNA logic Madison should be stripped of it by now.

The match results from the Abu Dhabi house show 11-29-10.

TNA ran their first ever house shows in Abu Dhabi this week, which,
clearly by the size of the attendance last night, no one had a clue
about! I was actually in shock at how poor the promotion of this show
was – this is a potentially lucrative market and at a minimum of $80 a
head, TNA failed to capitalise on it with seemingly non-existent
promotion. There were a couple of posters around local malls but that
was about the only notable promotion I became aware of in the last 4
weeks. Even on the official website it was difficult to find out any
information about these shows.

After we paid $270 per head for a ringside ticket, we couldn’t help
but feel slightly robbed at the fact only 3 rows were half filled
anyway. Anyway, enough about the genius advertising and worthy prices
of this event, and on with the show!

1st Match – Jay Lethal vs Brian Kendrick

A 3 minute squash of Kendrick after a Lethal Stone Cold Stunner, with
illegal-in-Abu Dhabi-middle finger to boot! The royal family didn’t
look too pleased with that from their ‘VVIP’ balcony seats, but one
wonders how they could anyway after paying $540 per head to enter the
balcony section in the first place! Kendrick barely got out of his
ring jacket before this one was over – a nothing match.

2nd Match – TNA Knockouts Tag Team Match – Angelina Love & Velvet Sky
VS Madison Rayne & Sarita

A quite disappointing ring attire from the Knockouts here, barely an
inch of skin showing on any of them! In the row behind us, a young
man’s sigh of ‘argh baby they’re covered up’ to his wife next to him,
spoke volumes about the disappointment among the paying crowd. Anyway,
they were hired to wrestle and that’s exactly what they would have
done!...had this match been any longer than 5 minutes. A Madison Rayne
roll-up with the tights on Velvet Sky (still firmly covering skin)
ended this contest pronto after Earl Hebner failed to spot the
illegality of it all. 2 matches down and less than 10 minutes of
wrestling – how much were those tickets again?
3rd Match – Orlando Jordan vs Shannon Moore

Nice pop for Shannon Moore but a disturbed response for Orlando Jordan
– he was not going down too well over here. This made for some good
heat though. This match was 10 minutes but unfortunately consisted of
5 minutes of pulling hair and tying up. Even Earl Hebner got involved
to tug on Orlando’s hair! It was all fun and games for the audience at
this point. Old Earl was having a great laugh, and after 5 minutes of
actual wrestling, Hebner managed to get involved by pulling Orlando’s
hair again and Shannon Moore finished with a roll-up. Earl and Shannon
celebrated on all four ropes together and the crowd lapped it up. All
they needed was a few steveweiser’s and this was 1999 all over again!
Again, a nothing comedy match designed for the 5 year olds at ringside

4th Match – 6 Man Tag Team Match – AJ Styles & Beer Money VS Doug
Williams & Motor City Machine Guns

The dotted hardcore audience was clearly excited about this one. Some
top class talent on show and after some sterling tag team matches in
recent months, this was fixing to change this show right around! The
first few minutes involved Alex Shelley and Robert Roode exchanging
uncanny Street Fighter 2 and Karate Kid poses as the five year olds
got their comedy fix again. Then a bit of quick tagging on the part of
Doug Williams & the MCMG’s kept Robert Roode doing most of the selling
for the next five minutes. We were still yet to see AJ Styles enter
the ring yet, but hopefully these guys were going to use the 30 minute
time limit to their advantage to keep the crowd happy...well, not in
Abu Dhabi they weren’t. For the next four minutes it turned in to a
six-man frenzy, with a comical 6 man headlock in to a jawbreaker with
Doug Williams starting the domino effect. Then the action spilled on
to the outside, and on the 14 minute mark AJ got the Figure Four Leg
Lock on Akex Shelley, whilst holding the ropes, to pick up the win via
submission.

This match was beyond disappointing and probably the worst match you
will see any of these guys involved in for some time. Why they were
being told to finish a potential barn burner like this so early after
even shorter preceeding matches was beyond any of us. Who was booking
this stuff?! Oh yeah, i forgot for a second there...

On a side note, somehow, after barely breaking a sweat this night, AJ
Styles whinced away in pain squeezing his hand after whispering in
Roode’s ear next to us ‘I think I’ve broke my finger’ – this was
confirmed after the show by Roode during the meet and greet. A
relaxing one turned in to a rough one for AJ!
5th Match – Abyss vs Eric Young

Abyss lapped up the awe from the kids at ringside in the 5th match of
the night, with a long, long, long walk around the ring during his
entrance. He is an impressive sight, but there comes a time when some
wrestling had to happen during this night. Unfortunately it wasn’t
going to happen with this match either. Eric Young got some decent
offense in the corner of the ring and then on the outside for the
first few minutes but then it was all Abyss. Some menacing looking
back rakes in the ring and a few powerslams, and this one was looking
bleak for Young. After already attempting a comeback with two failed
clotheslines, Abyss caught Young on his third attempt with the Black
Hole Slam and it was all over for Eric Young on the 8 minute mark.

Jeremy Borash then hit the ring for what we all imagined was the
intermission where we could all buy the non-existent TNA merchandise
from the non-existent TNA merchandise stand in the clearly gaping
areas on the arena floor. But no, he was here to tell us that after a
combined 40 minutes of wrestling (if that!), we were about to witness
the main event of the evening! Now, i understand this is more
wrestling than a TNA impact would ever care to serve its audience
with, but when you are paying between $270 - $540 per ticket for this
event, you expect more matches of higher quality than a free paying
crowd at the Impact Zone would get. I guess this was not to be the
case tonight.

6th Match – The Pope & Samoa Joe vs Jeff Jarrett & Jeff Hardy

This was all built around Jeff Hardy. It was a decent line-up for a
tag match but why they could not fill this card out with two singles
matches out of these guys is non-sensical...oh yeah, I forgot about
this company. Samoa Joe got a decent response from some hardcore fans
at ringside and Jeff Jarrett got a nice face pop playing the heel. But
as Jeremy Borash realised all the crowd signs indicated there was to
be no booing of Jeff Hardy tonight either, he presented him as a face.
A huge pop from the rapturous 400 in attendance left Hardy wondering
whether to play face or heel tonight...he did neither very well. After
taking an age to rise up on all four corners to let the kids take
their pictures, the main event was underway. Jeff Hardy tied up with
the Pope and after a few exchanges in the corner, Hardy distracted the
ref to allow Jeff Jarrett to do what he does best – standing arm bars
on the ring apron to The Pope. This formula worked several times
during the next five minutes until Samoa Joe had enough and cleaned
house. The lack of a legal tag meant this one spilled out on to the
floor with weapons being used...illegally. When I say weapons, I mean
a microphone and a ring bell to not very convincing effect on Jeff
Hardy, courtesy of The Pope. While the action stayed on the outside
between Joe and Jarrett, Hardy nailed The Pope with the Twist of Hate
for the three count. The crowd proceeded to go wild. This match was 9
minutes long and again a huge disappointment but to be fair to Hardy
he sent the paying crowd home happy with a run around the ring to sign
a few autographs and slap hands with the adoring fans. Will they ever
take him seriously as a heel?

Overall Thoughts:

This was a huge disappointment mainly for the extortionate price of
the tickets but also for the quality and lack of matches on the card.
The wrestlers were clearly on holiday and had the night off once they
realised most of the audience consisted of kids waiting for Jeff Hardy
to arrive. What was also disappointing was the promoter’s promises
that the crowd would get to go backstage and have a meet and greet
with all of the stars. This would make the ticket seem slightly
worthwhile but when only Abyss, Roode, Jay Lethal and Eric Young came
to greet the waiting fans, there were a lot of visibly angry parents
and kids afterwards.

This was a poorly run show both in the weeks leading up to it and on
the night and for a company who desperately needs new markets to
exploit that might actually want to watch impact on a weekly basis
(there is always hope), they did a poor job making a name for
themselves in this lucrative city. The wrestling started at 7.40pm and
finished at 9.10 pm. Not exactly what you would call value for money
when paying $270 each

That doesn't sound to good. Especially if the crowd spent that much money to see the show.

The main problem here is TBP finally team up again and they lose?! So even in a tag match with nothing on the line they can't win! Looks like TNA really is serious about depushing Angelina & Velvet.

So that explains why they are holding a tournament for the KO tag titles.

I forgot who the Knockouts Tag Team Champions even were. Suck to be Hamada, I guess. Though, tbh, why they even have girls on the roster not named Angelina Love or Velvet Sky is beyond me.
