While Velvet may not be a technical marvel, Jacqueline is in way over her head at this point in terms of significance or relativity to the TNA product.
I wouldn't doubt that her being in TNA now coincides with their hoped for but now dashed America's Most Wanted reunion. (Which was silly to begin with as Storm has progressed well beyond Harris.) They probably promised her something to do and with plan #1 out the window figured they'de use her as beat up Velvet and then let Velvet go over material.
Even TNA are not nuts enough to actively push Jacqueline in 2011.

She's as significant - more significant, I'd say - as most of the other women, and frankly I don't give a fuck. I want to see Jacqueline do what she does best, and sticking her in there with Velvet Sky and (God forbid) Brooke Adams won't achieve that. Sure, there's the argument that she could at least help them to improve, but methinks Velvet's past that point.

She's as significant - more significant, I'd say - as most of the other women, To TNA in 2011? No, she isn't. She's not native. She hasn't been a featured act for quite a long time. And her best status wasn't even in TNA. TNA never pushed her as a lead Knockout. And the E (then WWF) stopped pushing her once Lita and Trish won their first titles. Liking her is fine. I have no issue with wanting to see an old personal favorite. But there's no way Velvet would be getting more out of a feud with Jacqueline at this point than vice versa.

I've disliked Jacqueline since 2004 when she humiliated poor Chavo and his father.
But seriously, she's in her mid 40s and nowhere near as good as she once was. Velvet does need to take sometime off to improve her in-ring abilities though. I hope she took advantage of being down in Mexico by asking for a master class in Lucha Libre. I hope she's chosen to be a part of WrestleKingdom VI next year, she could do with the experience.

I didn't say she was significant, I said she was as significant as most of the others. That is, not really that significant at all. That said, I still think she has a hell of a lot more to offer than Velvet Sky. And again, yes, she is being wasted. It has nothing to do with her being "a featured act". In fact, that just reiterates that if she isn't going to be a draw then she should be at least used for what she does offer, that being awesome wrestling skills. The trouble is that sticking her in there with a crappy performer isn't going to accomplish that.
And Velvet has been wrestling for years and years. I'd say that she's just never going to be a decent wrestler.

I dont know what would be making you figure she has awesome wrestling skills. Her skills there weren't at awesome level during her last TNA tenure. And she's not at an age where that figures to reverse.
Fairly, shes not as significant/promising to TNA in 2011 as most of the other Knockouts. How would she have more to offer the promotion than Sky at this point? Even if Vel was terrible in the ring she'd almost by default be more of an attention getter/storyline mover to TNA presently.

You said Jacqueline is "in way over her head at this point in terms of significance". Please tell me how the vast majority of the roster is more significant than her at this point. And no, significance =/= potential.
And you've completely inverted the argument. This was never about whether Jacqueline can be considered a headliner or whatever. My point was that Jacqueline, a strong wrestler and performer, is being wasted because Velvet isn't capable of putting on good matches. I don't give a damn about how important she is the overall TNA product, because I'm hardly an avid viewer. I'm looking at this from a subjective standpoint, that being that I, as someone who wants to be entertained, would much prefer it if Jackie was feuding with someone who can actually wrestle. It's pretty simple.

Please tell me how the vast majority of the roster is more significant than her at this point. Significance to cut good promos or have people care about them? She's below average. Contributions to the TNA product? She's below average. Ability to be an entertaining character? She's below average. Ability to pop a rating or crowd? She's below average. Ability to give another person a meaningful rub or put over? Below average. At least ODB was over recently, is a multi time KO's champion who is strongly associated with TNA and has credibility within the TNA product. To me, talking about strictly in ring technical ability, women like Sara Del Rey and Cheerleader Melissa would qualify as awesome. Based on her last TNA run, Jacqueline isnt even the better of the two Velvet aggressors in the current feud imo. Given it's TNA, you should probably be glad Jackie isn't wrestling chicks you like. Beating her would do next to nothing for them and if she should go over, they would be effectively berried.

Significance in terms of overall importance. Clearly the BP alumni and Mickie are pretty much the only women TNA really rate, so yeah, I'd say Jackie is on par with most of the others.
I'm not that into TNA, so I'm not to fussed on all of that. When I do watch it however, I want to see a) Madison screaming and being a bitch, b) the hot brunette from Generation Me, and c) decent matches. The Jackie I know offers point c. And no, I didn't see her during her last run, but I'm perfectly willing to stay in my nostalgic shell and focus in on the Jackie who was having epic matches with Molly on Sunday Night Heat, tvm.

Fair enough. I don't wish to hassle anyone else's nostlagia.
I guess I am different here in that I tend to think leaving the stage or sticking to less stressful endeavors is nice after a certain point. I like the approach by the Joe Dimaggios and Greta Garbos of sports and entertainment. Who give their best while they are most able to and then let it speak for itself.
For example, I love Trish but I didn't really want to see her back this time. Not unless she could be like the Trish of old. And while she still looks nice, the magic of her character and those it played off of isnt there anymore.

New Spin Cycle from Tuesday night A few thoughts: - TNA probably shouldn't have filmed something for a later date with someone they were planning on getting rid of
- Asstastic would be a great finishing move if someone more attractive did it
- I'm really gonna miss Des
- Orlando Jordan and Eric Young are gold

I'm watching the Spin Cycle now. I nearly spit out my juice when I saw Orlando Jordan. What is that hair?
Also, I feel dirty because Miss Tessmacher is growing on me. I am so stealing the Asstastic for NFA.
