So apparently they're holding a tournament for the 'Xplosion Championship' which you can use to challenge for any TNA Championship

A few things:
1. Haven't they got enough championships that don't get air time (TV Title, KO Tag Titles)
2. The winner will be stupid and challenge for a belt that doesn't mean anything (TV Title) instead of going for the World Championship
3. Doug or Magnus should win... just sayin'.

Impact spoilers for next week.

Impact opens with Mr. Anderson dressed as Sting coming to the ring. He is doing a sitdown interview with a guest from Sting's past. The guest turns out to be Disco Inferno. After Disco runs down Anderson as Sting, he keeps trash talking. Disco sticks up for Sting while Anderson is busy mocking him. Eventually Anderson beats on Disco bloodying him until the real Sting makes the save. The crowd chanted boring during this segment.

-AJ Styles (wearing a neckbrace) and Christopher Daniels defeated Tommy Dreamer and Bully Ray in a Street Fight when AJ and Daniels hit a Spike Piledriver on Dreamer.

-Velvet Sky is in the ring for a promo. She calls out ODB for attacking her last week. ODB comes out and talks about being fired last year for not having the right look. She runs down Velvet calling her pathetic. After making Velvet cry, ODB attacks her until Security pull them apart. After a scuffle, Velvet eventually gets away.

-We get a segment in the bathroom between Eric Young and Gunner. Before they fight Young said he might have mistakenly taken Gunner's belt. He will lie down for Gunner tonight in the middle of the ring.

-Jeff Jarrett defeated Matt Morgan when Scott Steiner came out and laid out Morgan. Karen Jarrett was ringside with crutches.

-Another in-ring promo, this time with Eric Bischoff. He claims that after the meeting last week, the Network figured out Mick Foley wasn't the right man for the job while Hulk Hogan was. Hogan comes out and praises Eric Bischoff for doing what he did last week to the X Division. Mick Foley interrupts and says Hogan pissed the Network off. Foley praises the X Division saying it put TNA on the map. Foley said the X Division will rise to new heights. Bischoff questions Foley's power saying he has no control over PPVs but Foley said they need Impact Wrestling to promote PPVs. Bischoff challenges Foley to challenge X Division Champion, Abyss tonight. The X Division guys come out lead by Brian Kendrick. Kendrick steps up to Hogan telling him to shut his mouth. He wants to take Foley's place to face Abyss tonight. The match is then made!

-Mickie James defeated Winter. Angelina Love attacked Mickie after the match.

-Abyss defeated Brian Kendrick with the Black Hole Slam to retain the X Division Title.

-The ODB/Velvet Sky promo was retaped.

-Eric Young came out to lay down for Gunner. After the bell rang, Gunner went to cover EY when Young rolled him up. Young won the Television Title.

-Kurt Angle defeated Rob Van Dam in a very good match with the Angle Slam.

Xplosion
Crimson defeated Robbie E with the Red Sky Powerbomb to advance in the Xplosion Championship Tournament.

Well it will be nice to see Disco Inferno on TV again.

ODB making Velvet cry is just ridiculous and it's not Velvet's fault that she got fired last year. I wonder why they re-taped the promo?

I know I said I wanted the Winter storyline to end soon but I wanted it to have a proper conclusion and explaination from Winter at least. I guess Vince Russo just got bored with it.

Sucks that Angelina is stuck being Winter's zombie henchwoman.

Crap! Now that Crimson is in that tournament the Pope may not win now. Since they are pushing the hell out of Crimson atm.

I might end up skipping this Impact.

Neat to see AJ & Daniels together again.

Do they really need to do another Eric Young bathroom segment? The last one was bad enough.

I think this new Xplosion title could be a good thing. They do have titles they dont do anything with or are repetitive (KO tag and TV/X.) But this seems to serve a specific purpose. It might aid Xplosion's profile even. And perhaps even lead to TNA getting another hour on American TV (yeah I know, a longshot.) Provided creative doesn't blow it. Which is always a definite possibility.

Angelina was an excellent talkative heel but has yet to be given the chance to be such since returning. Silly given how over and convincing in the role she was.

RVD is so half assing it these days.

I'm open to a Crimson push but not 100% sold on him at the top of the card yet.

Pope winning the tourney would make sense. Probably why it wont happen.

My suspicion that Winter will use Angelina to try to garner the KO's title for herself seems real possible.

Velvet "gets away?" Isnt she supposed to be the face? I hope that segment comes over better on TV.

No Samoa Joe? Seems to be in the doghouse.

Shame the Brits aren't featured more. Magnus looks great and has strong upside potential. Doug is a strong technical worker and great guy for a young wolf to have as a partner.

I heard differently with the Velvet/ODB segment:

Velvet Sky cuts a promo saying she is tied of the accusations against her. ODB comes out and says that a year ago, she was fired because she didn't have the right look and she's tired of people like Sky being what everyone thinks a female wrestler should be. ODB said she's a pathetic woman and that's why her best friend Angelina walked out on her. Sky tried to leave but ODB laid her out.

Still sucks tbh.

I think ODB is the last person who should call another woman an embarassment. Plus this whole Velvet only has her job because her looks thing is stupid. Because they were both brought in at the same time when the KO division started in 2007. Velvet's looks wasn't an issue then so why is it a problem now?

I also agree with you angelwings. Why is Velvet crying and trying to escape? She is a face it makes her look really bad trying to run away and getting attacked without putting up a fight.

I honestly believe someone on TNA creative has a problem with Velvet.

I know there is truth to ODB parting ways with TNA because of the direction she felt they were heading in with the women's division, but yeah, it doesn't really make sense because she and Velvet were brought in for the same reason at the same time. I do remember when haters people were complaining about the amount of time and focus the Beautiful People were receiving in 2010 over other Knockouts, but lol, wouldn't that have been a good time for this storyline to take place? Maybe this would have been more acceptable if Lacey were still around and ODB was targeting her instead.

Impact spoilers for this week

The show opened with a brawl between ODB and Velvet Sky. This turns into a match which ODB wins. Miss Tessmacher helps Velvet Sky afterwards.

-We get a promo with Eric Bischoff in the ring. He calls out Beer Money and is threatening to strip them of the tag team titles. Alex Shelley comes out and announces that since Chris Sabin is out with an injury he will team with James Storm at Slammiversary against the British Invasion.

-We get a #1 Contender's Match for the X Title between Brian Kendrick and Kazarian. It goes to a time limit draw but when they get more time, Abyss comes out and interrupts the match resulting in no winner being announced.

-Crimson defeated Matt Hardy. After the match Samoa Joe comes out but is taken out by Crimson.

-Angelina Love defeated Miss Tessmacher

-Mr. Anderson wrestled Eric Young who was dressed as The Great Muta. Gunner comes out and tries to distract the referee but it allows Young to spit mist in the eyes of Anderson. After a moonsault Young pinned Anderson. After the match, Anderson and Gunner beat down Young until Sting made the save.

-We get a promo between Bully Ray and AJ Styles setting up a Falls Count Anywhere Match at the PPV.

-Scott Steiner and Jeff Jarrett defeated Matt Morgan and Kurt Angle when Steiner pinned Morgan. During a brawl between Angle and Jarrett, Karen Jarrett falls and looks hurt.

-We get a promo involving Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff. They are reading a letter from The Network's Attorney. After a bit of trash talk Hulk Hogan reveals that Mick Foley was fired closing the show.

At least Angelina won but I don't like that Velvet not only lost to ODB and gets beat up again but has to be helped by Miss Tessmacher now! Really?!

Nice to see Angelina rightfully win vs Miss Tess.

Are they doing the whole Velvet's loses or looks weak for a long time before finally salvaging something deal again? (Like vs Sarita)

A team of Shelley and Storm sounds nice.

Good seeing the British Invasion will get a PPV match.

The Eric Young thing is cheap but could be a bit amusing I guess.

Morgan is the only young guy in his match, yet he takes the fall.

The show doesn't usually benefit from multiple Bischoff mic segments.

I'm all for the British Invasion getting a tag team title shot but they should have had to earn it. That way the storyline isn't as random and the British Invasion could have re-established themselves as a dominant tag team.

The sad thing is this epsiode will air on Velvet's birthday. That's a hell of a way to spend a birthday getting beat up, losing your match and having to be saved by Brooke Adams. SMH

It is but like Tarrynator said they should have been made to earn it. But I guess it has something to do with shortage of tag teams atm. No MCMGs because of Sabin's injury, Jesse Neal is hurt so no Ink Ink, and GenMe is stuck in the X division storyline. So that leaves only the British Invasion.

I forgot about Mexican America. I'm shocked they weren't put into that spot since they were pushing them.

Speaking of Sabin despite what I think of him that has to suck for him to be out until 2012.

I was going to say yes too but then I realized they aren't even over with the iwc despite being latinos, non-blondes, dull promo cutters, midcarders, and heels to boot. About the only typical iwc act factor they lack (save Sarita, who has it) is strong technical workrate.

Anyway, I agree with Tarry and yourself that the Brits should have been given a better leadup story to this chance.

Sucks for Impact too. The MCMG are one of the better things about TNA. The tag division will miss them.

Now would be a great time to push Shelley toward the top and see if he's got what it takes to be a main eventer or not.

Impact Wrestling
Hulk Hogan/Bischoff in-ring promo. They bring out Mr. Anderson who is dressed in his regular clothing and Sting in his facepaint. Anderson talks about his match at Slammiversary. Sting answers back with words of his own and then tells Hogan that he wants the old Hogan back, the one the locker room in the back and fans grew up to idolize. He tells Hogan to use a metaphorical scalpel to get rid of the cancer (Eric Bischoff) before it’s too late.

Knockouts Tag Match
Winter & Angelina Love defeated Mickie James & Tara via pinfall after Madison Rayne interfered by pulling Tara off the apron as Mickie James went for the tag and Love hit James with her wicked new finisher (an inverted face lock into a modified lungblower).

Tag Team Match
British Invasion come out to commentate.
Mexican America defeated James Storm and Alex Shelley via pinfall. Sarita and Rosita got involved near the finish so Storm spit beer into their faces. Anarquia was about to grab Storm from behind but ducked when he noticed Shelley coming from his rear. This lead to Shelley misfiring with his superkick and hitting Storm. They throw out Shelley to the outside and then make the cover. This was the match of the night in my opinion. Storm and Shelley worked well as a makeshift tag team.

Jarrett/Angle in-ring promo hyping up their match at Slammiversary. Jarrett claims Karen Jarrett is gone and it’ll be just him and Angle for his gold medal.

Backstage, Mr. Anderson talked with Gunner about their match later on.

Open Challenge Match
Rob Van Dam defeated Bully Ray via pinfall after a Five Star Frog Splash. Bully Ray came out and shooed Christy Hemme away saying she was a bimbo and her Playboy cover was garbage. He issued an open challenge to anybody in the back except D-Von which lead to RVD coming out. AJ Styles showed up in the crowd and Bully Ray got distracted and tried to say Styles’ attempt at getting in his head wouldn’t work but apparently it did.

Knockouts Singles Match
Velvet Sky defeated ODB via pinfall after a DDT. ODB came out to no music from the side of the ramp and Velvet Sky ambushed her from behind.

Backstage, Sting and Eric Young talked about their match coming up. Sting told Young to get serious.

Main Event Tag Match
Mr. Anderson and Gunner defeated Sting & Eric Young via pinfall after Gunner hit Sting with a F5. I think Young got pushed into Sting when Sting wasn’t looking which lead to a blind tag of sorts and that allowed the heels to gain the advantage.

Xplosion Matches
D-Von defeated Anarquia w/ Mexican America via pinfall after a modified spinebuster slam.

Douglas Williams w/ Brutus Magnus defeated Amazing Red via pinfall with the Chaos Theory.

Good to see Velvet's feud with ODB didn't become a repeat of her one with Sarita.

I'm shocked they let Gunner pin Sting.

Looks like conflicting reports about the Angelina & Winter vs Mickie & Tara match. PWInsider is reporting that Mickie & Tara won. So I guess we will see next week what really happens.

The Impact spoilers for this week.

The show opens with a Mr. Anderson celebration promo with the ring all set up. He trash talks Sting when Gunner comes out. Gunner got in Anderson's face and after an exchange of words, threw Anderson through a table.

Austin Aries defeated Kid Kash and Jimmy Rave to earn a contract with TNA.

Devon defeated Hernandez by Disqualification. Rosita and The Pope both interfered during the match.

Kurt Angle comes out and announces his Olympic aspirations. Jeff Jarrett comes out and challenges Angle to another match despite Sunday being their final battle.

Rob Van Dam defeated Samoa Joe in a good match. They shook hands afterwards.

Rosita and Sarita defeated Velvet Sky and Miss Tessmacher to retain the Knockouts Tag Team Titles. ODB and the returning Jacqueline Moore got involved during the match.

Gunner defeated Mr. Anderson in a non-title match. Eric Bischoff showed up after the match and said some things to Anderson.

I don't even know what to say.
