With the big reunion show coming up, I thought it'd be fun to look back and reminisce on our favorite matches, moments and Superstars of the blue brand.
The SD six was so iconic. Probably the peak on either brand as far as divisions go since the women's evolution happened.
Another time the division was absolutely thriving:
And before them we had the pioneers, where Torrie Wilson carried the division on her BACK for no reward. No wonder it gave out on her.

I always talk about how Torrie, Michelle and Ashley were the queens of SmackDown, but Joy Giovanni was that BITCH as well! She owned the winter of 2004. They took her out the paint because she was just TOO powerful! The fact that people still talk about her six month stint in WWE 15 years later tells you all you need to know.

I remember SD debuted the same month I started high school in August 1999, probably just days after. I watched a recording of the first episode in my friends house. All I remember is the main event of The Rock vs. HHH and HBK turned heel at the end which I don’t think led to anything.
Once I started being able to watch it every week I probably didn’t miss an episode until like 2004. The episode after 9/11 was so surreal. 2002-2003 were definitely the golden years that had most of the memorable stuff though like the Big Show ring breaking spot, Al Wilson, John Cena’s rise, Rey Mysterio’s debut, etc. Even though there was no women’s title at the time there was like a year straight when the women’s rivalry was always great from Torrie/Dawn to Torrie/Sable to Sable/Stephanie. I remember reading SD spoilers in school about Sable returning and being so excited. Then I tuned into SD that week and the segment was edited out of the show! Due to promoting Playboy I guess.
I got back into SD around 2008 when it had Maryse/HHH/Jeff Hardy. Watching Maryse’s rise was great. Around WrestleMania it kind of fell off and they sent a lot of my faves to RAW. The same again around 2016. I got into SD again after the new brand extension and it was great up until WrestleMania with the fresh women’s division, basically the last proper run for Cena and the novelty of it being live every week.
So my favourite eras were 2002-03, 2008-09 and 2016-17. So if the pattern continues I’ll probably start fucking with SD heavily again around 2026.
Maybe my top SD moment was Vince announcing the NWO were coming. It ended up being shit but that moment when he turned the chair around and revealed the letters I was so hyped.

I'm too lazy to pull video, but Vickie Guerrero has low-key always been one of my favorite parts of Smackdown. Between her relationship with Edge to making Ziggler her boy toy.
