This is starting with The Mummy on Friday, which I'm sadly going to miss. But I'm excited for this. I LOVE the classic Universal Monsters, and I wish they had started this with The Wolfman because that movie (the directors cut at least) was so good. The directors said for the most part everyone will have their classic looks, because when they tried to change it, it didn't feel right. And I read an interview with the guy helming the whole thing, and he really seems to want to do it justice and has a good vision. The Mummy looks like it could be hit or miss, but I'm pulling for it, because I would love to see classic Dracula and Frankenstein on the big screen, and not shitty modern versions.
The confirmed cast so far are:
Tom Cruise as just the regular hero character I guess? Sofia Boutella as The Mummy Russel Crowe as Dr. Jeckyl Javier Bardem as Frankenstein's Monster and Johnny Depp as The Invisible Man
After the Mummy, the next film will be Bride of Frankenstein in February.

I just read a review that said The Mummy is Tom Cruise's worst film ever.

I just read a review that said The Mummy is Tom Cruise's worst film ever. Can you find out if the reviewer has seen Losin' It? I need to know what their bar is on bad Tom Cruise movies.

I just don't understand why people still think he's a box office draw...

I'm just disappointed that we won't be seeing Javier Bardem as Frankenstein's Monster. The rest of this sounded awful though, so no big loss.
