Live action remake.
Jon Favreau is directing. James Earl Jones will voice Mufasa again. And Donald Glover will voice Simba.

Been saying that for months. I'm against this. The original is great as is and doesn't need a gritty CGI remake.
I enjoyed Jungle Book, and I've been enjoying the live action princess movies, but it's because they've been bringing the cartoons to life. Jungle Book only managed that because of Mowgli. There are zero actors who will be on screen in a Lion King remake. This whole thing is just a CGI upgrade. It probably won't be awful, but I don't want it, I don't need it. Keep it, Disney.
Edit: And tbh it's even worse now that James Earl Jones is reprising his role as Mufasa, because tbh he sucked as Vader in Rogue One because he's old as hell now, so his performance as Mufasa will be a shell of the original.
