Meryl Streep drags Trump, MMA & NFL at Golden Globes

During her acceptance speech for the Cecil B. DeMille Award at last night’s Golden Globes ceremony, Meryl Streep used her speech to take shots at President-elect Donald Trump. When the topic of immigration came up, she made a comment that didn’t sit well with fans of MMA and NFL.

She said: “So Hollywood is crawling with outsiders and foreigners. And if we kick them all out you’ll have nothing to watch but football and mixed martial arts, which are not the arts.”

Dana White, the President of the UFC and a known Trump supporter, didn’t take the comments well, calling her an “uppity, 80-year-old lady.” He told TMZ: “Of course it’s an art. These fighters, these men and women are so talented…saying something stupid like that is like saying…she’s not a talented actress which she is. We have fighters from all over the world…She’s not educated about the sport and that was a completely uneducated comment.”

Sports =/= arts. That's just asinine of him to say. If they were the same, schools all over the country wouldn't cut art programs to pour all of their funding into sports.

Also she didn't even say anything bad about Trump, or mention his name. She called for people to be respectful of one another, and now these Republicans are calling her old and overrated.

Tomi Lahren and Meghan McCain say that she lives in a bubble because she's a celebrity and that she's out of touch with the rest of America, like they aren't also white women on TV, who voted for a reality star to be their President at that.

Everyone who's gassed up because Meryl Streep literally only encouraged a kinder America are the same people who mockingly call liberals snowflakes and ask if they need a safe space.
