1. Eva Marie - I used to feel so sorry for her, but it's kind of amazing that she's so polarizing, and she finally seems to have embraced it. She's been a kii and a cackle with her dramatics, from the over the top robe to the script for the ring announcers, and I enjoy her partnership with Nia Jax. And putting her up against people like Asuka is not only a great way to get Asuka over, but it's what the fans wanna see. They
want to see her kill Eva Marie. And while she's sloppy at best in the ring, ironically, I feel like her being such a poor wrestler is her greatest strength as a heel.
2. Charlotte - It's always annoying when one woman gets pushed above and beyond all the others, who are then left to rot on the back burner, but unlike with Michelle McCool and AJ Lee, I can't deny that Charlotte is fun to watch in the ring. I've always said that I love her gymnastics stuff, and as most of us have already said, she's excellent in that top heel spot, and I'm at least thankful for that. She mercifully got Natalya over last night and it would be so annoying if she were the type of person to throw her under the bus and soak it up; and there's plenty who would have - and have.
3. Dana Brooke - Like I said, she cracks me up. She's not lacking any personality, and even on Twitter she's hilarious, especially when she and Dolph go back and forth. I haven't seen a lot of her NXT stuff, but I loved her entrance last night and the handstand elbow drop, and the head pat is great. It's like Maryse doing, "the hand." It's small, but it's her own thing, and like Astro said, she does a lot on her own to differentiate herself from the other women and has cultivated a persona for herself without creative's help, while some women just stand idly by waiting for a turn that'll probably never come. She definitely turns it on while she's out there, and it's fun to watch.
4. Summer Rae - A lot like Dana, Summer cracks me up. She's perhaps been the biggest victim of the Divas Revolution, and it's really kind of unfair, considering she played a key role in kick starting the NXT women's division. Never forget that Sasha Banks and Charlotte had to carry around a cutout of her head on a stick to remain relevant when Summer got called up to the main roster...
5. Naomi - Oh, Naomi. She used to be a bit botchful, but she's really come such a long way. I think we used to look at Cameron as a crutch for her on the mic, because Cameron was
so good at it, but anytime Naomi gets to speak she pleasantly surprises me. And her ring work is always entertaining, combining flash with substance. But I just don't think it's ever gonna happen for her. And it's really a travesty that Kaitlyn ever had to exist, because if it weren't for her, Naomi probably would have had her career, winning NXT and feuding with AJ Lee, and then we never would have had to endure that botoxed oaf. I guess white mediocrity won again.
6. Paige - I've warmed up
a lot to Paige, and I think it's because she dropped the anti-Diva shtick and has been a bit more like the Paige we've gotten to know on Total Divas. And she's still badass, it's just great that she isn't such an asshole towards the other women like AJ was. Having said that, unfortunately I think all of that is what's been hindering her in the new era. I'm sure she'll find herself in the title rotation again though.
7. Lana - She's entertaining but I would care a lot more if she finally entered the women's division, which is the direction I thought they were heading in following WrestleMania. Her ring attire is interesting and cool *Britney Spears voice* and I like the kickboxing stuff, but the stuff with Rusev is a non-factor to me. And she's gotta stop with those tacky cropped jacket and high waisted pencil skirt business suits.
8. Natalya - You know, I'm really only ranking her this high because her countouring and top knot game has been on point lately. She's really becoming a gold star Instagram thot. They needa keep her off the mic though. When she was yelling in Shane's ear last night and he asked her to please step back...
9. Emma - I don't really get the Mad Max thing but it's nice that her career had a (
short lived) second wind, and hopefully it wont be too hard for her to pick that momentum back up when she returns.
10. Sasha Banks - And here we have the martyr. I'd like Sasha so much more if she would just stfu. We get it. You grew up a wrestling fan. Congratultions. It was so cringe watching her at WrestleMania, wearing an Eddie Guerrero attire and doing his moves. Bih, this is supposed to be
your moment, not his. Paying homage to him like he trained her or something, lol. All I could think about was how Shaul and the girls must have felt.
And then there was the whole thing about how she wasn't a Diva, reminiscent of when AJ dragged the other women for wearing makeup. She just needs to get her head out of her own ass. As a matter of fact, I'm dropping her down a few spots, because this dissertation has made me realize just how annoying she is.
11. Becky Lynch - I already said my piece about Becky Lynch today, and I'm not gonna go there again. She just isn't for me, but I guess at least she stopped river dancing, so for that, I thank her.
12. Alicia Fox - I don't know where she is, or what she's doing these days.
13. Tamina - Same as Alicia, but whatever it is they're doing, I'm sure Tamina's just a little bit worse at it.
Not applicable / non wrestlers:Maryse - I mean, she's been fantastic in her new valet role. She's killing it with the leotards, fishnets, thigh high boots and robes, and her chemistry with The Miz is fantastic (
I mean, duh, why wouldn't it be?). I hope they don't just continue to flounder in the upper mid-card, though. I need a storyline, or for The Miz to feud with another Superstar who has his own valet, like Rusev.
Nikki Bella - Nikki hasn't been present since the Divas were rebranded as Superstars, and I'm interested to see how she integrates into the division upon her return, because it's gonna be a whole new world for her. There's the Women's title instead of the Divas title, Brie is no longer around, and there's some new faces in the division.
Stephanie McMahon - My personal feelings towards her aside, she's always been great in her role, and it's fun seeing her and Shane on-screen together again.
Rosa Mendes - At this point Rosa is like when you have company over and you're ready for them to leave but you don't quite know how to say it because you don't wanna be rude but at the same time they're not picking up the hints you're putting down either.
Eden Stiles - I don't even know, but she's the prettiest and most eloquent of the ring announcers.
Renee Young - She seems like the most competent of the broadcast girls, but the lisp and Dean Ambrose put her just behind Eden.
JoJo - Ombré isn't a thing anymore, little girl.
Lilian Garcia - I think Burke's opinion of her is rubbing off on me...
