With TNA more than likely going out of business at the end of the year (I know, I know, we've been saying that for years now), does anybody want to share their favourite TNA memories? (You know you have some)
My favourite TNA memory is the entire Bound for Glory 2009 PPV, which is one of my favourite shows of all time. It was the only Bound for Glory show that really felt like it was their WrestleMania, with every single match feeling important.
The opening Ultimate X match was a lot of fun, and I remember cringing when Daniels fell from the ropes and spiked his head into the mat, and I still cringe at that moment whenever I watch it nowadays too, thank goodness he was okay.
The Knockouts Tag Team Championship was also great, even though it didn't last too long, which was a shame. And the triple threat for the Knockouts Championship was good too. TNA's women's division was incredible back then.
I didn't care much for the Legends Championship match, because that belt was stupid, it was only fun when Booker T was the champ. (I didn't mind it when Rob Terry held it as the Global Champion, because that led to a lot of really cool matches on Xplosion for the title). Anyway, this match is the only result of the night that I would have changed, because Kevin Nash didn't need the win, especially when the rest of the show had a 'youth movement' kind of theme to it.
The Full Metal Mayhem match was pretty fun, and it was awesome that the British Invasion won the TNA Tag Team Championships at the end of the match. Also, seeing Booker T take a stupid bump to write him out of TNA was crazy. And who'd have thought that we'd ever see Scott Steiner in a TLC Match? lol
Bobby Lashley vs. Samoa Joe is so underrated, definitely one of the best submission matches I've seen. Lashley was totally wasted by TNA during his first run though.
Mick Foley passing the torch to Abyss in a Monster's Ball match was also really good. It was hardcore wrestling done well, which is really rare these days. That storyline was fucking stupid though, I'm sure they could have come up with so many ways to have Foley and Abyss feud, but instead they decided to have them feud over Abyss destroying a drawing of Foley and JB that was hanging in Foley's office, so weird.
I remember being so upset that Angle beat Matt Morgan in their match at the time, but in hindsight, it was probably a good thing that Angle won. Seeing as though Angle stuck with TNA for almost 7 more years after that, whilst Morgan was gone within 4 years.
And last but not least, AJ Styles vs. Sting for the World Championship. I was always confused as to why Sting basically handed Styles the World Championship the previous month in that ridiculous 5-Way match, like why didn't he try to win instead of exiting to the ring to allow AJ to win the title? But whatever, this match was a worthy main event for this show, and it ended with AJ ending Sting's Bound for Glory streak (I didn't know he even had one until they pointed it out during the match. Fucking TNA). Then after the match, even though AJ was the winner, they allowed Sting to get on the microphone and do a little speech. Everyone thought it was going to be his retirement speech (the tagline for the even was 'The Final Curtain?'), but nope, it was just to announce that he's not retiring after all, which is great, because how sad would it be if Sting retired in TNA, oh my god.
And that's the whole show, I don't think I missed anything (perhaps possibly the pre-show, which had a tag match between MCMG and Lethal Consequences to gain entry to the Ultimate X match). So, what are your favourite memories of TNA? Good or Bad.
... Please don't let this thread bomb.
