It is time! We've been building up to this moment all season - NFA 10: SummerMania! Let's get to it!
The ladders are set up around the ring as we kick things off with the Ladder Match to crown the new Number One Contender to the NFA Cruiserweight Championship. A video package airs showing how each of the competitors earned their contracts and qualified for the match. Out first to boos is
Jimmy Uso. Next out is the first of the three luchadores in this match,
Andrade 'Cien' Almas. He's followed by
Kalisto. Out after him is
Fénix to a nice pop. The lights go out in the arena, and the music hits, exciting the crowd! A silhouette appears, and the crowd goes crazy! The lights come back up as
Shinsuke Nakamura swaggers his way to the ring. Next out is
Tarry to the complete opposite reaction, instead of receiving the roar of the crowd, he finds himself on the receiving end of deafening boos. To clear up any controversy surrounding Tarry's inclusion in this match, he did make weight earlier today, and therefore is considered a Cruiserweight by NFA's standards. The match begins and immediately turns into pure chaos. Tarry and Kalisto find themselves outside the ring fighting over a ladder, as Nakamura and Uso fight on the other side of the ringside area. That leaves Almas and Fénix in the ring - 'One Hundred Souls' meets the 'Man of a Thousand Lives'! The two luchadores fly around the ring in a spectacle that would make
Mil Máscaras and
El Santo proud! Tarry enters the ring with a ladder and clears house of the luchadores, resulting in more boos from the audience. Tarry sets the ladder up in the centre of the ring and begins to climb when Kalisto springboards off of the top rope and dropkicks him off of it. Shinsuke Nakamura slides into the ring and hits Tarry with a running knee to the gut, eliminating the Brit from the match temporarily. Nakamura and Kalisto square off for a while, with both men trying to climb the ladder to retrieve the contract, but they manage to prevent each other every time. Almas and Fénix re-enter the fray and help their fellow luchador throw Nakamura out of the ring. The three luchadores compete with each other to ascend the ladder to greatness. All three of them rush up the ladder at the same time and fight each other to grab the contract when suddenly a fan jumps the barricade to knock them off of the ladder. The fan is wearing a lucha mask, so I can only assume that she's a huge fan of these men and she entered the ring for a closer look, but I must remind all you fans at home that you should never jump the barricade for any reason. This fan will be dealt with accordingly, and will most likely be banned from any future NFA events. Security enter the ring to remove the fan, but Jimmy Uso slides in and superkicks the security guard in the face, before Samoan Dropping another guard. The fan removes her mask to reveal herself to be
Naomi, Jimmy Uso's wife! Naomi and Uso setup a ladder in the ring and Naomi helps her husband climb it. He reaches for the contract when Nakamura slides into the ring and hits Naomi with the Kinshasa! Uso jumps off of the ladder onto the King of Strong Style, furious with him for laying a finger ... well, a knee in this case ... on his wife. Nakamura counters the dive, and Uso finds himself on the receiving end of the Kinshasa too! Nakamura climbs the ladder when
The Change,
Konnor and
Viktor, slide into the ring and drag him off of it. Nakamura tries to fight them off, but Tarry sneaks up behind him and clubs him over the back of the head with a crowbar. The Change look at Tarry with a horrified look on their face, shocked that he would go so far just to taste gold here in NFA. Tarry shouts at The Change to hold the ladder as he climbs it to claim the contract. Tarry sits on top of the ladder holding the contract into the air. Surely it's only a matter of time before Tarry cashes in and becomes the new NFA Cruiserweight Champion, how could he not with The Change and his new ruthless attitude in tow.
Ladies and gentlemen, it's time for the Underwear Pillow Fight! The cameras pan around ringside to show a bed covered in pillows set up in the ring. The referee for this contest,
Jessica, makes her way to the ring wearing a silk nightgown, not exactly the typical referee attire you would see in a regular match. Out first is
Cesaro, and he's wearing a suit. This is an Underwear Pillow Fight, the Tuxedo Match was weeks ago, he's facing a DQ for breaching the dress code! Suddenly he tears away the suit with no effort required and reveals a pair of lace white underpants, the women (and some men) in attendance are going crazy for him! The music of
Wolfgang hits the speakers, and here he comes! He's wearing ... boxer shorts. I'm not sure that'll cut it in this contest. He turns the camera and winks before ripping off his boxers, revealing an Australian flag printed thong to the audience, which makes the very same people who gave Cesaro the previous reaction melt. Jessica has the two men meet her in the centre of the ring, she goes over the rules of the contest, and then has them shake hands. She rings the bell and this one is a go! Cesaro wallops Wolfgang with a pillow, and it doesn't take long for Wolfgang to retaliate. Both men batter each other with pillows, with neither man really getting the advantage. Wolfgang starts piling pillows up in the ring, and then German Suplexes Cesaro right onto them. Cesaro immediately gets up, much to Wolfgang's surprise. Why he's surprised that a move would hurt less when done onto a pile of pillows, I have no clue. Cesaro takes Wolfgang's legs out from under him, and drags him onto the bed. He gets on the bed with him and performs the Giant Swing right there on the bed! He then releases the swing and sends Wolfgang flying off of the bed. Cesaro grabs a pillow and holds it under his arm, he then jumps off of the bed and delivers an elbow drop with the pillow. Jessica begins to count the pin, but Wolfgang kicks out! Cesaro and Wolfgang start beating each other with their fists (that's what she said). Jessica tries to get in the middle of them, reminding them that they must use the pillows. They push her onto the bed, continuing to break the rules. Jessica lets out a growl, then grabs them both by the waistbands and pulls them down onto the bed with her. A curtain comes down around the ring as we begin to hear some strange noises. The bell rings and it appears that this one has been ruled a no contest. What a shame!
Paige makes her way to the ring wearing a dress, she looks anxious to meet her biological father. "I really didn't want to do this publicly, but if this is the only way to meet my father, then I have to do what I can," she takes a deep breath before continuing, "Please come out here so I can put my mind to rest." She stares at the entrance way, waiting for her biological father to arrive, but there's no sign of him. Paige looks disappointed at her biological father no showing their first meeting. She has tears in her eyes as she prepares to head to the back, giving up on this meeting when the lights in the arena go out. A familiar gong is heard, and when the lights come up,
The Undertaker is standing behind Paige. She turns around to face him, realising that the Demon of Death Valley is her father. The lights go out again and a scream is heard. The lights come back on and there's no sign of either Paige or The Undertaker.
A hype video airs recapping the feud between
Melina and
John Morrison, and
NFA Commissioner Brandon. It's time for the mixed tag team match for control of NFA! If Melina and John Morrison manage to win this one, Melina will be named Commissioner of NFA, but if Brandon and
Tiffany win, then we'll never see John Morrison and Melina in NFA again. Morrison and Melina make their way to the ring, reprising their old entrance with the red carpet and paparazzi. You think they would have come up with something special for SummerMania. A video plays on the titantron showing the headlines made by the reunion of
The Meanest Girls two weeks ago. "The Hottest Act in the World" many of the headlines state, and they're not wrong. The iconic theme of The Meanest Girls plays over the speakers, and here they come! They walk out onto the stage looking as fashionable as ever! Brandon and Tiffany, the Commissioner and CEO of NFA respectively, each have a flamethrower in the possession. They stand back-to-back on the stage and fire the flamethrowers into the air, producing a SummerMania moment that'll never be forgotten! They place the flamethrowers onto nearby stands on the entrance way and continue making their way to the ring. I've got chills! The bell rings and Morrison & Melina immediately try to ambush The Meanest Girls, but Brandon & Tiffany dodge the attack. Tiffany locks in the Butt Nekkid Choke on Melina whilst Brandon delivers the Weapon of Ass Destruction to John Morrison. Brandon makes the cover, and as the referee's hand comes down to count the fall, Melina taps out! Oh my god, it's over already! The Meanest Girls celebrate their win in the ring as security escorts Morrison and Melina out of the building. Great news, I've just been informed that Brandon and Tiffany have just broken the record for the shortest match in SummerMania history!
Our cameras cut to the back to find
Renee Young standing by with
Vince McMahon and
Genesis. "Mr. McMahon, I was just hoping to get a quick word with Genesis before his big match with
John Cena." Vince snatches the microphone from Renee's hand, Genesis then snarls at her, resulting in her fleeing the interview area. "Tonight, Genesis is going to DESTROY John Cena for what he did to WWE HQ! And when John Cena is on the mat, covered in his own blood, unable to continue his career due to the beating he just received, I'm going to wipe him from the history books. He can say goodbye to all of his World Championship wins, because I'm going to overturn every single one of them. John Cena may currently be one of the most decorated champions in history, but after tonight, it'll be like he never even existed!" Vince's music hits and he and Genesis make their way out to the ring. Genesis marches to the ring, towering over everyone in attendance. He growls in the direction of children and reduces them to tears. The music of John Cena hits the speakers and here he comes with
Nikki and
Brie Bella by his side! They sprint to the ring, and all three slide in. They immediately unload on the beast, Genesis, whilst McMahon barks at the referee to get things under control. The referee finally gets
The Bella Twins out of the ring and the bell rings to start the match. Genesis delivers a huge right hand to Cena, knocking him off of his feet. Genesis hits a massive leg drop on the downed Cena, and makes the cover. Cena kicks out! Genesis grabs hold of Cena and drags him off of the mat and into the air. He then slams him down hard. Genesis puts his foot on Cena's chest, and the referee begins to count. Cena kicks out again! Genesis grabs Cena by the throat and lifts him off of the mat and back into the air. He attempts a chokeslam, but Cena fights out. Cena hits the ropes and comes back with a shoulder tackle. It doesn't budge Genesis an inch! Cena hits him with another shoulder tackle, this time making him take a step back. Cena attempts one more, then shakes Genesis just enough. Genesis throws a punch, but Cena counters with the Protoplex. Cena tells Genesis and Vince McMahon that they can't see him, and delivers the Five Knuckle Shuffle to the behemoth. Genesis climbs back to his feet and is planted with a massive Attitude Adjustment! Cena makes the cover, but Vince McMahon puts Genesis' foot on the bottom rope. The Bella Twins rush round to the other side of the ring and deliver a beating to Vince! The referee exits the ring to try to put an end to Nikki and Brie's attack on McMahon. Genesis recovers from the Attitude Adjustment and grabs Cena by the throat. Genesis is hit in the back of the head with a crutch by
Daniel Bryan! Bryan being put in a wheelchair by Project Genesis employees is what started all of this in the first place! Genesis throws a clothesline at Daniel Bryan, but Bryan ducks, hits the ropes, and returns hitting a huge Running Knee to the chest of Genesis. Genesis turns around into another Attitude Adjustment, and Cena makes the cover. The referee re-enters and counts Genesis down for three. Cena did it! After the match, John Cena, Nikki Bella, Daniel Bryan, and Brie Bella celebrate the huge moment together as a family. What a beautiful moment!
It's now time for our first championship match of the evening! A hype video plays recapping the breakdown of a new friendship and the events afterwards that led to this match being made. The challenger's music hits, and here comes
Jason! He receives a huge pop from the fans in attendance. Next out is the NFA Cruiserweight Champion,
Finn Bálor to a mixed reaction. The two men stand in the centre of the ring as we get the formal announcements. The referee holds the NFA Cruiserweight Championship into the air, and here we go! Finn extends his hand, but Jason knocks it away. If only Bálor had showed this kind of respect for Jason over the entire season, he may not be having to defend his championship against him here tonight. Jason strikes early with a huge kick to the head of the champion. Jason makes the cover, but Bálor just kicks out. We almost had an early upset there. Finn recovers and Irish Whips Jason into the turnbuckle. He follows that up with a running corner dropkick. He then hits the ropes and connects with the Sling Blade. Bálor covers, but Jason gets his shoulder up quickly. Bálor attempts a kick to the ribs, but Jason catches the foot, spins Bálor around, and puts him in a Full Nelson. Finn fights out and hits an Overhead Kick that makes Jason stumble backwards. Jason bumps into the ropes and uses his momentum to throw a clothesline, knocking Bálor down. The referee begins to count both men down, but they make their way back up at the count of five. They then begin exchanging chops in the centre of the ring, with both man trying to prove that they're better than the other. Jason lights up Bálor's chest with a nasty chop, which angers Bálor and results in him punching Jason in the mouth. Jason spits blood on the mat, and hits Bálor with a punch of his own. Jason hits him with another punch, and then a huge kick to the side of the head. Jason then connects with the Skull Snap and makes the cover. Finn just kicks out, saving his title, at least for now! Jason sets up for another Skull Snap, but Bálor counters and hits the 1916. Bálor makes the cover, but Jason kicks out! What a match! Bálor drags Jason off of the mat and lays him out with a lifting reverse DDT. Bálor goes up to the top rope and comes off for the Coup de Grâce, but Jason moves out of the way. Jason hits the Skull Snap out of nowhere and covers for the 1... 2.... 3! Jason is the new NFA Cruiserweight Champion!
The Change,
Konnor and
Viktor, rush the ring whilst Jason is celebrating his big win and hit the Fall of Man on the new champion.
Music that we've already heard once before tonight hits as
Tarry makes his way out with contract he won earlier in the night. He hands the signed contract to the referee and tells him he wants his match right now. The referee calls for the bell and here we go! Tarry makes the cover, but the new NFA Cruiserweight Champion,
Jason, kicks out! Tarry can't believe it! Tarry goes up top and drops the Bomb Scare Knee Drop on Jason and makes the cover once again. Jason kicks out again! Tarry is furious! Jason kips up and attempts the Skull Snap, but Tarry blocks and hits him with the One Way Ticket. Tarry covers and finally gets the win. The referee hands Tarry the NFA Cruiserweight Championship as The Change hoist him onto their shoulders to celebrate the win. Tarry has broken the hearts of not only Jason, but of everybody in this building here tonight. What an ass!
There are grave consequences for the losers of this next match as the caskets are wheeled out around ringside. A hype video airs recapping the incident that occurred at the end of NFA 1: New Beginnings and highlights the investigation conducted by
Burke and
Bayley that resulted in
Maryse's confession. The video then recaps how this match was made, and includes short interviews with the participants, with all four competitors revealing that they're terrified of being locked inside the casket.
The Miz and Maryse make their way to the ring dressed all in black, with Maryse wearing a lace veil on her head, as though she were going to a funeral. Perhaps she is ... her own. Bayley makes her way out with her traditional wacky waving inflatable arm-flailing tubemen entrance. She stands on the ramp as her music cuts out, a hush falls over the audience as we await the arrival of Burke. His music kicks in and here he comes! He walks out to the biggest pop of the night so far. He walks alongside Bayley and they high five, they then put their game faces on and rush the ring. The bell rings and here we go! Burke immediately goes for Maryse, but The Miz steps in to save his wife. The Miz unloads on Burke whilst Bayley chases Maryse around the ringside area. Burke counters one of Miz's punches and follows it up by launching him over the top rope, sending him crashing onto the lid of one of the caskets on the outside of the ring. Burke goes after Maryse again, but Miz recovers and clubs him in the back of the head with a closed fist. Burke goes down as Maryse continues to try and flee from Bayley. The Miz opens up one of the caskets and positions Burke onto the ring apron. Miz climbs onto the apron and hooks Burke into the Skull Crushing Finale. Miz connects with the Skull Crushing Finale off of the apron and into the casket! Miz climbs out of the casket and attempts to shut it on Burke, but Burke gets his arm up, blocking the lid. Bayley finally gets her hands on Maryse, Bayley-to-Bellying her onto the ground outside the ring. Bayley calls for the lid of the casket to be opened, but Burke calls over to her, telling her to leave Maryse for him. The Miz knocks Burke down and goes after Bayley. He attempts a running forearm, but Bayley uses his momentum to throw him with the Bayley-to-Belly into the casket. The force of the slam shuts the lid on impact, locking Miz inside the casket and eliminating him from the match. Bayley grabs hold of Maryse and drags her over to Burke. Burke demands an apology from Maryse, but she refuses to give him one. He tells Bayley to open a casket as he rolls Maryse into the ring. He puts her on the top rope and tells her that she has one more chance to apologise. She finally relents, screaming "Sorry!" over and over again with tears streaming down her face. "Apology accepted." Burke says as he hoists her onto his shoulders and FUs her from the top rope into the casket. Bayley shuts the lid and this one is over! Burke and Bayley celebrate their win as the caskets are wheeled away. Bayley tells Burke, "This is your moment," and leaves the ring to give him the spotlight. Burke continues to celebrate his big win when a man in a black and white mask with skull face paint on the lower half of his face enters the ring and attacks Burke from behind. The masked man delivers a disgusting looking Package Piledriver to Burke and then grabs a microphone from ringside. He delivers the following promo in Spanish, "My name is
Pentagon Jr., and I have zero fear!" He drops the microphone and goes after Burke, kicking him in the arm. Pentagon grabs Burke's arm and applies an armbar. He pulls on Burke's arm, and then falls back, still holding the arm. Burke writhes around in pain. Pentagon may have just broken his arm! "And that ... that was a message from my employer." Pentagon Jr. leaves the ring and heads out of the arena through the crowd.
The cage lowers from the ceiling as we get ready for our co-main event. 'Bad Reputation' hits the speakers and here comes the challenger!
Ronda Rousey makes her way out and she looks ready to fight. The champion's music hits and we hear a voice over the speakers in the arena, "From Concord, California, comes the most stylish, elegant, bewitching, eternally beguiling, contentiously charismatic, and fantastically fascinating woman to appear in this or any arena. Allow yourself to be seduced, enchanted, dazzled, and entranced by
All Red Everything herself, the NFA Women's Champion,
Eva Marie!" Eva Marie makes her way to the ring and hesitates before entering the cage. We get the formal introductions and here we go! Ronda immediately tries to take down Eva, but Eva escapes and gets to the corner. She rips the turnbuckle pad off and grabs something from inside of it. Ronda rushes over and is sprayed in the face with pepper spray. She goes down to the mat in pain as Eva poses in the centre of the ring as the fans boo. She tries to climb the side of the cage, but she's too scared to do so. She gets an idea and heads over the door. She tells the referee to open the door, but he won't do it. She flutters her eyelashes and the referee relents, beginning to unlock the chain on the door. Suddenly Ronda Rousey recovers and grabs Eva Marie by the waist, throwing her to the ground with a Judo throw. Rousey starts pounding on Eva's beautiful face as the referee continues unlocking the chain. He rushes into the ring and pulls Ronda off of Eva. He calls for the bell and gives Ronda Rousey the win via referee stoppage. We have a new NFA Women's Champion! The referee hands Ronda the championship and she holds it up into the air.
It's now time for the main event!
Seth Rollins is out first to a pop. Out next is the NFA Rumble winner,
The Man, and he's met with boos. Next out is
Roman Reigns who gets a mixed response. The music of the next man hits and here he comes,
'The Animal' Batista makes his way to the ring as the fans goes crazy for him. The NFA World Heavyweight Champion
Tiarnán is out last to the biggest boos of the night so far. We get the formal introductions and the ring announcer reveals that
Brandon has changed this to an elimination match! Tiarnán loses his shit, realising that he can't just hide out and wait to cover one person at the perfect opportunity, he's now going to have to survive every man in the contest to retain his title. The bell rings and this one is underway. Roman Reigns immediately hits a Spear on Tiarnán, which Seth Rollins follows up with the Curb Stomp. Batista drags him off of the mat and hits him with the Batista Bomb. The Man then peels what's left of Tiarnán off of the canvas and hits him with the Burning Hammer, covering Tiarnán and eliminating from the match early on. We're guaranteed a new NFA World Heavyweight Champion! The remaining four men pair off as Batista and The Man brawl outside the ring, whilst Reigns and Rollins fight inside the ring. Reigns hits the Superman Punch out of nowhere and sets up the Spear. He rushes across the ring, but Rollins counters into the Pedigree. He makes the cover, but Reigns kicks out! Reigns recovers and attempts a second Superman Punch but eats a huge kick to the mouth instead. Rollins picks Reigns up and Powerbombs him into the turnbuckle. The momentum of the Powerbomb carries Reigns forwards and Reigns hits the Superman Punch. He covers Rollins and gets the elimination. The Man re-enters the ring and throws Reigns out. Batista climbs back in and he takes The Man down. Batista locks in the Batista Bite, but The Man's huge arms make it impossible to keep it locked in for long. The Man breaks out of the hold and goes after The Animal. He hits the World's Strongest Slam and makes the cover. Batista manages to kick out, saving his place in this match. The Man hits the ropes and follows up with a Splash attempt, but Batista rolls out of the way. Batista hits the ropes and hits a Spear. Batista shakes the ropes and signals that the end is near for The Man. He kicks The Man in the ribs and gets him in position, but he's unable to lift him for the Batista Bomb. The Man clubs Batista on the back and then boots him in the face. Reigns slides back into the ring and hits the Spear out of nowhere on The Man. He throws The Man towards Batista and they work together to lift him up for an assisted Batista Bomb. Batista then makes the cover, elimination the NFA Rumble winner from the match. The two remaining men back into opposite corners, and then rush each other in the centre of the ring. They unload on each other as the crowd exchange duelling chants for both men. "Let's go, Roman!" "Ba-Ti-Sta!" This is electrifying! Roman flies through the air with the Superman Punch, but Batista catches him and plants him with the Spinebuster! Batista lifts Reigns up for the Batista Bomb, but Reigns fights out, lands on his feet, hits the ropes and hits Batista with the Spear! He covers for the 1... 2... 3! It's all over! Roman Reigns has won the NFA World Heavyweight Championship! Confetti falls from the ceiling as a large section of the live crowd audibly rejects Reigns as NFA World Heavyweight Champion. They pelt Reigns and the ring with garbage as the show goes off the air with a shot of Reigns' looking confused by the reaction to his title win.
Thank you so much for joining us here tonight and for every show we've put on this season, your support has meant a lot to us all here at NFA! This has been NFA 10: SummerMania, and we'll be back with season 2 at the end of the year!
