Let’s say to be eligible you have to have had your first studio album come out no earlier than 2010.
A lot of people who still feel kinda newish to me (Rihanna, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga) have already been around for 5-10 years. Time flies.

Btw, if Jay says Justin Bieber I'm going to make a CAW of him in WWE 2K15 and job him out to Roman Reigns repeatedly. I've only heard like 2 of her songs but she has probably the best name for a pop star I've ever heard. Nick Jonas' newly perfected body. Sorry, he's not getting in on that technicality. When I was in NY way back in '08 he and his creepy brothers were already around. I remember hundreds of teenage girls screaming for them outside the TRL building.

That's bullshit. I guess, I'll go with Lorde then. I know that bitch is going to do something insane eventually and I want to be able to say I liked her before she cut off Taylor Swift's head and stored in her freezer. Her music sucks though.

One Direction and Lorde are the only two that come to mind as far as popularity go. I was gonna say Taylor Swift, but as it turns out she had her debut album out in 2006ish and didn't really become notable until her 'Fearless' album, which was like a year or two after.

This truly isn't shade but everyone ( not just on here) is always mentioning Lorde's name in the same vein as the other pop girls and the only song of her's I've ever heard is Royals. Everyone talks as if she's this seasoned hit maker, but where are they? EDIT: I guess she's got dat Grammy doe.

I'm not sure who my answer is. I like Lana Del Rey but she's too indie to be considered a pop star. And I like Charli XCX so far but I can't go too crazy just because she had a single song that I really liked. I had never heard a song by her until a couple days ago when one of her songs came on the radio on GTA. I only knew her from South Park. I thought her name was pronounced lordy at first too and not lord.

Waiment. This thread is about how you think is the best in your own personal opinion and not who you think is the biggest star/most popular/most iconic?
Lana Del Rey.

I thought her name was pronounced lordy at first too and not lord. I thought it was "Lord-A." Pronouncing it "Lord" is pretty douchey tbh

I like Lana Del Rey but she's too indie to be considered a pop star. But Summertime Sadness was a top ten hit doe.
