Haven't heard about this until now but it sounds like it has potential. Alejando Gonzalez Inarritu, the director who brought us "Babel,' "21 Grams" and most recently the Oscar-nominated "Biutiful," returns with "Birdman," a comedy-drama that's beyond anything we'd expect from the usually bleak director.
Michael Keaton stars as a former superhero actor who tries to revitalize his career on Broadway. In the teaser, which opens up with a striped down version of Gnarles Barkley's "Crazy," we get a look at Keaton, who appears to be playing a exaggerated version of himself. "Birdman" also happens the second meta-ish movie about a fading actor (Robin Wright in Ari Folman's "The Congress") that we're looking forward to this year.
Emma Stone, Zach Galafianakis, Amy Ryan, Edward Norton, Andrea Riseborough and Naomi Watts all costar. Fox Searchlight opens the film October 17.
Check out the teaser below along with a poster.
