I beat this last night and I can safely say that it was my favorite installment of this trilogy. And it for sure felt the most like a Tomb Raider game. There were times in Rise that I felt like I was playing Skyrim with all the side missions and renaissance clothing, and the first game was great, but it was almost more like, survival horror esque. There were so many puzzles in Shadow and I was surprised that there were only a couple of gun fights. This one focused so heavily on stealth combat, and even those were few and far between. But holy shit, this game goes full on The Descent when you have to go down to the Cenotes. The cave dwellers hissing and scurrying around kept creeping me out lol, but holy shit, I got chills when Lara and their queen realize they're supposed to work together. She was a fucking badass in this game, too. When she thinks Johna's dead and she's grieving on the beach when that guy comes stalking up to her and she tries to warn him not to test her, but he does anyways and she UFC's him. And again after a big explosion where she rises out of the water with fire all around her and calmly but strongly walks up to the shore where a mercenary is stirring and stabs him mercilessly because she isn't fucking around anymore. And during the 'secret' ending, when the camera pans over to her childhood drawing at the very end, the t-rex and pyramid were a nod to the original game. ❤️ I wonder if this is the end end and they'll take a break and come back with a new approach like they've done in the past, or if they'll continue with this series. Honestly, they're so well done and Shadow really emphasized getting her to becoming as close as she can to being the character from the original games, I wouldn't be mad if they retold the original trilogy in this style. That actually sounds amazing imo, especially for the first two games. Either way, Tomb Raider is far bigger than this one trilogy so you know it'll be back in one form another, but I'm curious to see what it will be.

I'm gonna get this and Red Dead Redemption 2 for Christmas.
I was gonna get the new Call of Duty too since it's supposed to be the best one in years but two games is already enough to focus on at one time.

This kinda feels like cheating a little but a lot of the time I just run like a maniac through areas with people shooting at me and hope that I reach a checkpoint before I get killed.

This game seemed kinda short. I completed it in probably less than 10 hours of play total. It was good though. I loved all the stuff with the cult. Even when Lara teamed up with them I didn't trust them. Just walking past them with them bowing down and making all those strange noises was creepy as shit.
