First of all let me start off by saying that I've never hated an actor more than I hate Neal McDonough. First he did Lindsay Lohan wrong in I Know Who Killed Me. Then he killed Edie Britt on Desperate Housewives. And now this. Fuck Arrow; I'm taking it off my DVR rotation. I cannot believe that the "amazing storyline opportunities" they killed Laurel off for look like they're gonna be dedicated to Quentin. If anything, it should have been the other way around like Astro said. But I guess what this show was really lacking was another man brooding like a little bitch.  I wish that bug bitch had killed Felicity last week, if they really wanna give Oliver something ( else) to cry about.  |

One of my biggest problems with Oliver and Felicity as a couple is that they have nothing, besides crime fighting, in common! They're not right for each other at all, and it's a travesty that the writers have let the fans hijack the show.
I haven't watched the episode yet, hell, I haven't even watched the previous episode yet, because this show has been a pile of shit this season. Well done to the writers for somehow taking Damien Darhk, a character who appeared in the comics for just 12 issues, and dragging him out over an entire season. They wouldn't have had to do that if they'd actually saved some of Green Arrow's actual villains for future big bads, instead of having them as the villain of the week in season one. I would love to give up on the show, but sometimes shows get better after a slump, and maybe this somehow will too, I don't know.
I just know that I'll never forgive them for doing this. If Katie Cassidy wanted to leave the show, then they should have left the door open for her to return. (As the real Laurel, not as a version of her from another world). And if she didn't want to leave the show, then fuck them for basically firing her.

I don't think she even wanted to leave the show. The show runners keep saying the reason they chose her is because it'd have a lasting effect on the characters. Like the episode wasn't bad. And Laurel's fight scenes were great, it was just such a poor decision. And I think it'd sit better with me had she left the line about Oliver/Felicity out. But all she ever was, was a stepping stone for Oliver and Felicity's relationship.
I've never felt so defensive over a character death before. God I can't even imagine getting emotionally attached to someone on the Walking Dead then.

From what I've heard she didn't want to leave the show. Apparently the writers decided upon the whole "who's in the grave?" gimmick this season without even knowing themselves, then decided she'd be the most shocking.

Also, I watched the episode, and I thought they handled her death horribly! Oliver can somehow survive getting stabbed right through his chest and falling off a mountain, but Laurel dies from an arrow to the stomach? She didn't even die from that, she died from a bloody seizure! Having said that, I have a theory that she's secretly still alive. We didn't see the seizure start, it awkwardly cut to the scene where the crash team came in, which makes me believe that Oliver somehow helped fake her death, so that Damien Darhk believes she's dead. It doesn't entirely add up though, but I want to believe that she's still alive. What if Oliver needed a reason to kill Darhk, so he and Laurel faked her death, which will definitely get Team Arrow to support him in killing him. I really want her to be alive. |
