According to the Hollywood Reporter, early plans are underway at Paramount for a new South Park feature film. This comes off the news that they will also be working on a new Friday the 13th film.
The deal came together following Paramount and Warner Bros partnering for a deal on the Christopher Nolan film Interstellar. Due to that deal, Paramount has partial rights to both properties for the next five years. WB had international distribution rights on that film due to owning certain rights to the series after it owned Comedy Central for a time.
South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut was released 15 years ago, and the show is entering its 17th season on TV. The film earned $83 million on a $21 million budget.
I can't decide whether I'd rather see this or a Team America sequel. Wait a second...the first movie had a $21M budget?! Damn, it looked cheap as hell. I thought it was great though.
