I didn't have the channel that showed Nitro here so I couldn't watch that but Channel 5 had a show for a while that showed selected matches each week. Goldberg, Scott Steiner and Kevin Nash were my favourites. Most of the stuff they showed was crap though. I remember a character called The Dog who got down on his knees and walked around and barked like, yep, a dog!
ECW I don't think I watched at all until around the time the Anarchy Rulz video game came out and that got me a little interested. I remember finding Heat Wave 98 and Anarchy Rulz 99 on VHS somewhere and buying them. RVD was my favourite.

Nope. Seen bits and pieces of WCW and the Ready to Rumble movie but that's about it. Didn't know what ECW was until the invasion storyline.
Didn't even watch WWF on a regular basis until Triple H married Stephanie, but I had seen alot of it and owned older PPV's on VHS.
I see clips of WCW now and I'm not really sad that I "missed out" tbh

I watched WCW once in a while on TNT after Cartoon Network went off the air, but I don't really remember much tbh. I just remember becoming a fan of DDP and Sting almost instantly.
I didn't know what ECW was until the invasion either.

I watched WCW almost as much as I watched WWF. I started with WWF, but my cousins were WCW fans. So, I watched the first hour of Nitro and then flipped to Raw. Then flipped between the two during commercials or boring bits. DVR would have been so nice back then. Nitro was the first televised wrestling event I went to. It was the one where Bischoff got his head shaved. I was mostly there for Jericho, Hall, and Disco Inferno.
ECW I caught a couple of times, but I went back and watched it after it was over. As if I were not going to watch anything involving Tajiri.

I started watching WCW in 1990 when they were still part of the NWA. As for ECW I started watching them in 1996 when they aired on Fox Sports.

I used to watch WCW before I got really into wrestling, but it wasn't regular at all. I remember a party with Hulk Hogan with a ton of balloons, and I remember The Wall breaking Someone Smiley's back or something like that. Aside from that not a lot at all.
ECW I never watched - was it shown in the UK? I have the game and Pay Per View Burke mentioned though.

I watched a couple of my cousin's WCW tapes. They did nothing for me. I don't know why, I just hated the whole set up and production. I recall Stacy Keibler's rip off the camo match with Major Gunns, and Torrie Wilson's feud with Asya.

I think announcers played a major part for me. I'm not sure I would've gotten so into wrestling at the beginning had JR not been consistently on commentary, with King or Heyman.
WCW never had that.

I watched WCW off and on from the mid-90's. It had it's moments. They dragged out or rehashed too many things (like portions of the NWO material.) There ended up being too much brown nosing of the cliques.
One thing people don't always realize today is just how over Goldberg was during the better part of his run. The guy was huge back in the day.
I quite liked DDP in WCW. But found his run in the E disappointing due to creative mistakes. Lance Storm was pretty cool too. I actually chuckled at his "If I might be serious" lines.
Major Gunns ass was amazing and Torrie was beautiful back then too.
I watched ECW when it came to TNN. Earlier material I am aware of is largely via tapes or computer vids. I didn't really find it fascinating as some on the net have. But then I guess my experience was somewhat different.

I've actually gone back and watched a ton of Torrie Wilson/WCW stuff on YouTube. I never realized what a big presence she had. Before I'd only seen her stuff with The Filthy Animals and thought she was just a valet, but the stuff with Shane Douglas and Billy Kidman was amazing too and she really did a lot. Her character was actually a big source of inspiration for me when I was writing Tiffany during the EC3/KO stuff on FNBF.
I really should have recreated this with them, lol...
