I'm not she's if there's been a thread but which have you read and which would you recommend? I get off soon and I'm kinda in that mood, though it's been years and years and years since I read one.
I've got:
- Mick Foley's first three...they were all good but there was definitely a decline in quality in each one, probably because the first had more of a narrative due to it spanning from birth to the late nineties. I mean I love that Hardcore Diaries bigs up Melina so much but on the whole it's a bit nothingy and disappointing. He spends a lot of the time rambling. That said the first is easily the best wrestling autobiography I've read. The middle is somewhere in between but i liked it.
- The Rock's - This was the first one I read. It was actually at this time of year eight years ago because I started it before the first performance of Oliver in first year. It was good but he switched into his character in the second half which I didn't really like at all.
- Shawn Michaels' - I really enjoyed it at the time but not a lot sticks out, aside from him being really horrible in the nineties lol.
- Ric Flair's - He annoyed me at times but it was a good read because he just has so much to say. I love reading about the really old school territory stuff.
- Austin's - A bit crappy, and he seems quite misogynistic. He doesn't understand women's wrestling or agree with it because seeing a girl do a Lou Thesz Press isn't sexy (his exact reasoning). Yeeeah.
I thiiiink that's it. I have a book about legends too that dedicates a section to each person's career, which again is good.
