The Rolling Stones weren't/aren’t very good.
If 2Pac and Notorious B.I.G. were still around they’d basically be what Jay-Z and Nas are today. No way they’d be as big as they became in death.
Coldplay have some great songs despite being annoying as hell.
Despite not having a great voice, Britney Spears has had a lot of great songs over the years. More recently and to a much lesser extent, Katy Perry also.
Alice In Chains and Soundgarden are way better than Nirvana. Nirvana are nearer to Pearl Jam when it comes to classic grunge bands.

The Beatles were nowhere near as good as people think.

I understand that the songs are mostly great and some are masterpieces, but I can never fully enjoy listening to The Beatles because I don't like the voices and nine times out of ten I'm focusing on that when I listen to a song. Amazingly talented people who deserve all the success and recognition they got/get, but I (generally speaking) wouldn't go out of my way to listen to their own versions of their songs.
We Are Young, as great as it is, owes a lot to Glee because that cover kickstarted its success. It bugs me so much when people are like, "Ugh, Glee doing another shit cover of a great song. This is awful" when the reality is that 99.9999% of those people would never have heard of fun had Glee not covered that song first.
I hate when people see enjoying pop music as something they have to be embarrassed or 'guilty' about. Believe it or not it's alright to listen to music even if it doesn't have some deep, profound, life changing music at the heart of it. Music can be FUN. It's fair enough if you just don't enjoy music that graces to top forty, but don't try and act superior in comparison to people who do enjoy it. And then naturally you'll get the people who combine that with hypocrisy in that they'll be ranting about how horrible pop music and chart music are and how anyone who enjoys them is a total sheep, yet two minutes later they'll be buying the latest Green Day album.
This would be different if I lived in America I think, but I suppose being a nineteen year old from Belfast and liking country/folk stuff is a bit of an unpopular opinion in itself. I wish people would give it (especially country) a chance and realise that a lot of it is actually really good.
If you completely ignore the vast majority of her back catalogue pre-Girl, Dannii Minogue's musical outlet is actually pretty good. Neon Nights is a genuinely great dance/electro-pop album that was ahead of its time and by all rights should have been a bigger success than it was, but she's hindered by being Kylie Minogue's younger sister.
Madonna is similar to The Beatles in a way for me in the sense that I enjoy her songs a lot more than I enjoy her singing them. I don't her voice has enough weight or personality to carry a good pop song.
As overplayed as it is, My Heart Will Go On is a great song, although I think the standard Celine Dion production and treatment stops me from enjoying it fully.
For the most part I prefer the anniversary acoustic version of Jagged Little Pill to the original, as much as I love the original. Maybe it was a bit of a quick cash in at an opportune time, but I'm glad she did it because I don't think one song comes out of it looking bad.
I see a lot of people looking at Taylor Swift on the girl's side and Ed Sheeran on the boy's side and moaning about how it's so unfair and makes no sense that they're massive stars and yet much superior singer-songwriters are struggling. It is a shame that some amazing songwriters out there don't get recognised and I'd love if people like Tift Merritt got more recognition than they do, but I don't really think that's a fair comparison. Those two set out to make light, easy going acoustic/country pop music and really they're very good at what they do, even if I find Ed Sheeran a bit boring.

I hate Bruce Springsteen.
The Kinks are significantly better all around than The Beatles could hope to be. Lennon-McCartney have either fun pop songs or ridiculous drug fueled nonsense. Oh, and Ringo is the superior Beatle.
ABBA are awesome.
