With Scary Movie 5 set to move into production this summer for a release early next year, the biggest question was easily whether or not Anna Faris and crew would return. Once the first plot details were revealed for the spoof-sequel, it seemed less likely that we'd be getting Cindy Campbell back on the big screen, with even Faris herself confirming she wasn't involved a month ago. Now, it seems another young blonde actress will be taking center stage for the franchise in the first lead change of the Scary Movie series. The Weinstein Company officially revealed that Ashley Tisdale will be taking over as the new lead in Scary Movie 5. Tisdale is best known for her role in the High School Musical films, while she's found success with TV series such as The Suite Life of Zack & Cody, Hellcats, and Phineas & Ferb. Tisdale is the only confirmed cast member for the film so far, which will be directed by a new helmer as well in the form of Malcolm Lee. Lee takes over from previous director David Zucker, while both Lee and Zucker co-wrote the upcoming fifth installment. Scary Movie 5's story has been described as mainly being a spoof of Black Swan as "a snooty, aloof, imperious, and oversexed French director of a dance company named Pierre puts on a huge production. Jody, a Caucasian late-20′s mother of two and her late-20′s African American friend Kendra are both vying for the lead in the production. Jody’s extremely controlling former dancer mother is determined that Jody will have the brilliant career that eluded her. The highly skilled mid-30′s Diva veteran dancer with the company, Heather Daltry, gets cut from the production and goes berserk." Scary Movie 5 is aiming to be released on January 11th, 2013. www.filmthrasher.com/2012/06/news-bundle-ashley-tisdale-takes-reigns.html=================================== Disappointed that Anna Faris won't be returning. I also heard Regina Hall won't be either. I'm willing to give Ashley Tisdale a chance though but I don't like that it's going to spoof Black Swan. I liked the idea of them spoofing Final Destination much better.

I love Ashley Tisdale, so I'm ok with the change.

Anna Faris, Leslie Nielsen and Regina Hall were the only things saving the later Scary Movies from being completely unwatchable to me.
I love Anna Faris but the truth is she will usually put her name on even the shittiest of comedy movies. The fact she's opting not to be a part of this one speaks volumes to me.
I'm expecting this to be Epic Movie/Date Movie/Meet the Spartans level bad.

Black Swan isn't a horror movie

Yeah, Black Swan was far creepier than most horror movies today even if it was billed as a psychological thriller or whatever. How was Conan btw? I’m pissed we don’t get the show on TV here anymore. Our CNBC used to show it late on weeknights (although a week or so behind the original US broadcast) but ever since that whole controversy a year or two ago with him switching networks we don’t get it anymore. We get Jimmy Fallon instead now.

Freaking amazing. His studio is so small in person but it's nice. His Tonight Show one was excessively large. He puts on a great show live. We were sitting right behind Andy's podium so we got to see Neon Trees and the animals that were on the show right in front of us. The giant pelican kept staring towards us and flapping its wings and was scaring the hell out of me. That bird was huge. After the show he did his end of the show song and talked to us for a bit. He's way funnier off camera. Then he showed us one of his vignettes that he filmed for his Chicago shows next week where he took Irish Riverdance lessons with a bunch of teenage girls. I hope they don't cut any of it out cause it was all hilarious. Overall it was a great show. The lowest point beig the guy from Breaking Bad that I didn't care about but he only talked for like 8 minutes so it was fine. His studio was in the middle of Warner Brothers so we had to walk through a bunch of sets to get there. We went through The Big Bang Theory and Two and a Half Men sets, passed the water tower (where those pesky animaniacs live) and by the America's Best Dance Crew studio as they were getting ready to film. Lots of hookers in that audience line. We seen JC from NSync getting out of his SUV and walking into the studio. I didn't know that show was still on the air. All the dancers were outside giving us dirty looks like they were hot shit. It was fun tho. I've already signed up for more tickets. I'll probably do so every month from now on hoping I get them. It's a lottery or some shit so you have to get lucky. Back on subject tho, there's is nothing creepy, scary, or horrifying about this:

I'm jealous.
And if I ever walked past the Big Bang Theory set I'd totally be tempted to take a seat on Sheldon's spot on the couch just to say that I did.
And oh yeah, back on topic, Scary Movie 5. Most horror movies these days make fun of ridiculous horror cliches themselves anyway. Parodies are kinda pointless now.

Scream was a parody of horror movies so Scary Movie has always been a parody of a parody making it pointless since the first. The Wayans Brothers are just geniuses and the first two are classics. I don't care about Anna Farris, or what it's parodying or any of that crap. If the Wayans Brothers aren't back, I won't watch. I've still never seen 4. 3 was terrible.

Fingers crossed that Ashley Tisdale's female co-star is hot. Vanessa Hudgens. How hilarious would that be? It works on so many levels. Disney would flip.

Ashley Tisdale is very cute and very, very funny, so I'm looking forward to this. I'll miss Regina Hall though.

Hang on, they're spoofing Final Destination?
Didn't Final Destination 3 & The Final Destination already do that?

Hang on, they're spoofing Final Destination? Didn't Final Destination 3 & The Final Destination already do that? Earlier this year when I was looking for news about the movie it was posted on Wikipedia that the main spoof would be Final Destination but obviously that has been changed now.

Update High School Musical star Ashley Tisdale has officially signed on for the upcoming Scary Movie 5. The last horror parody flick was released in 2006, so what better way to start a new movie then with a few fresh faces. Along with new director, Malcolm Lee, Ashley has landed a lead role in the film though it is unknown whether she will be reprising Anna Farris’s doe-eyed ditzy blonde character, Cindy Campbell. Franchise stars Regina Hall and Anthony Anderson will possibly return to the Scary Movie set this summer. The movie is schedule to release on January 11, 2013. In the meantime the High School Musical alumni has been working on several projects with her own production company called Blondie Girl Productions and will also star in a new CBS comedy. secretsofagoodgirl.com/celebritygossip/ashley-tisdale-lands-role-scary-movie-5/================================== Good to hear that Regina Hall and Anthony Anderson may return. So that's good news at least and I don't have a problem with Ashley Tisdale getting the lead role.
