I'm obviously like 3 years late on this show, but I already love it. I just started it last night and went in thinking it'd be some crappy teen soap. It actually reminds me of Supernatural Season 1-3, so I'm hoping that the quality stays pretty good even as the show progresses. Anyways I just finished episode 8 of season 1, and I'm so depressed, Lexi came into the picture and I adored her. Then Damon killed her. I've decided that Damon and Jeremy annoy the crap out of me, I'm not sure how I feel about Stefan. Elena isn't annoying, like I thought she'd be. And Tyler is a total douche. Apparently he gets likeable as the show goes on, so fingers crossed. I feel bad for Caroline, but from the spoilers that I know, she'll quickly grow on me. And I adore Matt, I feel so bad for him too, he just gets shit on. But Bonnie and Lexi are by far my favorite characters on the show. Also I'm pretty sure I'll be the only one talking in here, but shit. I'm so hooked and I needed somewhere to vent.

Unless the vampires are being vanquished by a cute wisecracking blonde teenage girl with her geeky but lovable goofball friends and wise British mentor, I'll pass

I bought the book about two years ago but never actually read it.
Ian Somerhalder was hotter when he was Boone and a little less self-aware.

Lexi came into the picture and I adored her. Then Damon killed her. But Bonnie and Lexi are by far my favorite characters on the show. I love Arielle Kebbel! I had the biggest crush on her when I first saw her in American Pie Band Camp. I've only seen 2 or 3 episodes of this show and one of them was the one where she got killed. I like Elena and Bonnie too. Stefan and Damon are dicks though.

Also I'm pretty sure I'll be the only one talking in here, but shit. I'm so hooked and I needed somewhere to vent. You could have used this thread, instead of making a new thread. But I have a Torchwood thread full of me talking to myself, so I can't really complain, lol.

I started watching this a couple of weeks ago. It's like, the perfect mix of Twilight's fluff and True Blood's intertwining storylines, and I love the soundtrack. Bonnie, Jeremy and Matt are my favorite characters. Hated Vicki. Between Stefan and Damon, I actually like them both. I'm more inclined to like Stefan, but Damon is undeniably likeable as well. Elena's personality is irrelevant but I'm interested in her storyline and finding out what her link to Katherine is. Speaking of, watch the spoilers.

I bought the book about two years ago but never actually read it. I was told to avoid the books, of course that's one person's opinion. Also I'm pretty sure I'll be the only one talking in here, but shit. I'm so hooked and I needed somewhere to vent. You could have used this thread, instead of making a new thread. But I have a Torchwood thread full of me talking to myself, so I can't really complain, lol. I figured I'd just use this thread similar to how the Glee thread is used Speaking of, watch the spoilers. What spoilers? Other than Lexi, I purposely kept it vague.

What spoilers? Other than Lexi, I purposely kept it vague. That was the last episode I watched. It would have been disappointing to know that she ( no pun intended) bit the dust ahead of time, especially since it seemed like she might stick around.

Ohh I thought you'd told me on ep 10, so I figured it'd be cool. Gotcha though.

I meant for future reference if you get ahead of me ( you probably already are). Just use the spoiler tag.

This show is ridiculously depressing. First it'll be cute, and you start to think, 'awww, lifes okay for once', then like two seconds afterwards shit hits the fan. I guess that's what keeps you hooked. I still love it though, and it's the perfect example of 'don't judge a book by it's cover'.

Again. This show is ridiculously depressing, I still love it though. I feel like if you're best friends with Elena (the main character), you're basically asking for a death wish.

The finale wasn't as depressing as I thought it was gonna be, but it was still ridiculously sad. I feel like they always end with someone dying. Like they brought Jeremy back, only to kill Bonnie off. And I liked Elena shoving the cure down Katherine's throat. I can really only take one of them.
Also I was ridiculously excited that Matt and Rebekah kissed, I really hope they keep Claire Holt on the Vampire Diaries versus the Originals, because I can't stand Klaus. Even if Elijah's on the show.
And I feel indifferent about the twist with Silas/Stefan. Maybe because I didn't really understand it at first, but idk. I just wish they'd bring Lexi back, they had an opportunity and decided against it.
