We discussed their friendship before back when Maryse tried to give Alexa a makeover on Total Divas. Nia brought up Alexa's past struggles, for no real reason, and was trying to make Maryse out to be a villain for wanting to do something nice for Alexa. It seems like Nia doesn't want Alexa to feel good about herself unless it was Nia who was the one to help her get there. It's like she feels threatened by Alexa being in a good place mentally.

Hope this is leading into a face turn for Alexa. I don't even know what Nia's supposed to be.

At first I thought it was all kayfabe but that wouldn't make sense because it's making the heel look better than the babyface.
Nia's probably bitter that her title reign ended and she's getting pushed aside while Alexa gets the big SummerSlam feud with Ronda. I called it before WM though. Nia's momentum at the time was only because of the Alexa feud. It was a Virgil/Ted DiBiase or Alex Riley/Miz type thing were once you're finished with that storyline it was always going to be downhill once people realised you're really not that good. She was never going to be the champ long term. Ronda, Alexa, Sasha and even Bayley's ass are still all bigger stars than her on RAW alone.
