throw shade v. [throh sheyd] Post your favorite Diva/Knockout feuds on twitter, interviews, etc. 1. The Beautiful People vs. MaryseAngelina Love changing her Myspace mood to "Imitated" the night Maryse sprayed Mickie James with hairspray. Her status read, "You can try, but you can’t and will never be TBP!!!" Velvet's status followed suit with "Laughs at the 'model' who thinks she can come close to TBP'S style!" Her mood read " models suck!!"The most surprising thing about this one-sided feud was the fact that people still updated their Myspaces in 2009. 2. The Beautiful People vs. LaycoolAngelina Love had this to say on her Facebook: “So this is what I get for quickly flipping thru the channels on a friday night……a blonde & a brunette blatantly ripping something off……..BRUTAL!!!”The Beautiful People then solidified their spot in the Hall of Shade by mentioning Laycool on air: Layla responded with a measly, "Cuz all of the tweets about this subject For the Record I do Not watch TNA So copy cat thing… kinda NOT!! This is All I will say Done!!"

Oh wow, I was literally just looking back on the Melina/Maria stuff and was on the verge of making a thread about online Diva bitchiness. Seriously.
Anyway, here's an example of the best passive-aggressive tweet in the history of the world, in the wake of Maria's Diva Dirt interview:
"@marialkanellis Wow. Listened to your interview... That's what I get for warning you about Dolph! Our little Maria, I wish you can find it in your soul to be honest one day. To tell THE TRUTH. I admire your strong will and believe you will always shine in some way because you have it in you, no doubt. I just pray you see the truth about certain things in life and Speak The Truth. Treasure the fact that you did so much with the wwe (& did it successfully!). Now you are doing amazing things and your album is doing great!!! You are blessed and are young so there is more to come. If saying those things make you feel, I hope you do. All I hope is that you are happy. I love you no matter what Maria. And I'm still proud."

For the record, none of Maria's comments were good enough to warrant quoting.

Oh, and who can forget this:
"Melina!! Who are you rooting for tomorrow? @evemarietorres or @maryse0uellet"
"ive been telling people I'm rooting for the person with the most tv singles matches under their belt. Which is Maryse. I think eve has had like 3 singles matches in her career. I need the Divas title to have meaning. That people EARN that title! Not have two matches and win. We need to have the best of the best hold it so our new divas have something to work towards. Gail, Katie and Jillian should have a crack at it! They would make that title MEAN something. They would represent like True Champions. Harsh but that's my honest opinion. The championship shouldn't be an accessory passed around for everyone and anyone to wear. It should be an honor and a priveledge. A sign that you have reached a certain level through hard work. Sorry. Maybe I said too much."
"My 984th Tweet will be about Maryse. Other reasons I want her to win. Not only is she the most experienced out of the two but she is the most charismatic one. She is entertaining in her own right and puts focus on the championship. The title will get lost on someone who can't bring attention or validity to it. She is a good heel. She can sneak or cheat to win. Her ways of winning the title without earning it makes it worth something bcuz it shows that the championship is so important a person is willing to lie, cheat and steal!!! In turn it makes you want to see a babyface knock her teeth in and win it the way you should, by wrestling!!! You earn that championship, by Maryse constantly cheating or finaggling her way to retain it, she makes a Baby fight for it and in a different way, earn it. Good for her. Make that title mean something girl! Please!"
Poor Eve.

More Rosa.
The latest tweet from Rosa Mendes revealed the Divas she’s got beef with — AJ, Aksana, Kaitlyn and Maxine.
Rosa wrote:
"Just so everyone is clear the rookies are AJ, Kaitlyn, Aksana and Maxine. You know the new girl on NXT, with the huge overbite. Lol."

One of the most blatant occurrences of Divas Throwing Shade™ took place when Tummy Sytch went after everyone's favorite living Von Erich: ( brace yourselves) "Tamara Lynn Sytch wants to know who else thought Lacey Von Erich's TNA debut was less than stellar?? Man, she sucks!"
"i mean, shes so bad, WWE fired her from developmental after 4 months... I thought TNA prided themselves on girls who could WORK!"
"hey, it's not hard at all to LOOK hot...it's a lot harder to know how to work"
"nope, not a single ounce of jealousy Tim...just wondering where the business that I grew up loving has gone. Talent just doesn't seem to matter anymore"
"how can I be jealous of a disrespectful no-talent bimbo who is only in the business b/c she was born to a suicidal drug addict?"
"no personal issue with her...it just aggrivates me when some get jobs and dont deserve it, when there are plenty of girls out there with looks and talent who should have those spots" So much hate! "hey, I never relied on my looks for ANY job….think about it...I was one of the girls who was actually GOOD on the mike. I never said I was a wrestler...Im not. Never was. Never will be. do what I do for 20 years and you earn the right to critique the work of others...dont like it? Dont listen. Easy as that." I bet you were good on the Mike. "i agree.. Trish started a whole new era of women's wrestling.,I tell her that every time I see her...You see, I gladly give credit where credit is due.... but Lacey doesn't know how to handle herself in the ring, or out of the ring among her peers either...trust me, she's not a popular girl, for more reasons than one."
"ok...so if Uncle Kevin says do it, does that make you good? If your uncle told you to be a plumber, would you be good at it?"
"no, ive seen her work on indies that Ive been on...there's no helping that situation...she's bad. Candice was better than her." Candice > Lacey > Sunny "also heard she's walking around the locker room like she owns the place... Just wait til Kong gets a hold of that!"
"the only thing she has going for her is her looks...its sad" But Tummy doesn't even have that. "Yeah, she'll overdose or shoot herself before you know it....ok, enough. I gotta go do some laundry...thats more important than LVE. later peeps!" o. i c. While Lacey had better things to do than sit on Facebook all night, she did address Tummy's typos with grace & dignity: "I don't know who she is, nor have I followed her career. Everyone has a right to their opinions and the way they share them to the world. You could take the classy respectful way, or blast them on the internet, its all up to them. I ignore it, either way." ~gworl, bye❣

I remember Maryse tweeting something like “this is the greatest night ever!” on the night of Michelle McCool’s WWE exit.
Some people (me basically) construed this as Maryse throwing shade the way of her longtime rival.

AJ recently took part in a radio interview, and took the opportunity to shade qter Divas whenever it presented itself. Skipping the boring parts where she reflects on her career and getting directly to the shade: "I get a lot of advice from John Cena and CM Punk. Probably from day one, they've been very helpful and have, you know, just kind of seen that I'm a Diva that loves the business and has watched it my whole life, and I want to succeed and I'm not just a, you know, oh this is something fun to do... Like no, this is my dream my whole life, and they've really helped me out a lot and have kind of been rooting for me."
"I don't blame anyone who kind of lives that way. In this business, we have room for that. We have a need for women who are good hosts and good models; someone that is just eye catching."

Rosa’s random tirade against the rookie divas that one time still makes me laugh.
Also, that time Sunny scolded the Bella's for putting some extra weight on over the holidays and called them chubby.

AJ's shade got a sequel in an interview with USA Today: "I love the in-ring work, but as a fan I love the dramatic stuff more than anything. This day and age, there needs to be a girl who's not wearing as much makeup and isn't that pampered-up and fancy. There's a place for that, but there's also a place for a girl I think fans want to hang out with and see themselves in."

I didn't see the shade in the first post, but that's blatant shade in the second. This day and age, there needs to be a girl who's not wearing as much makeup and isn't that pampered-up and fancy. Really though? Well, she isn't pampered-up or fancy.

I don't see that second quote as a shot at the other divas. She's not saying there isn't a place for it, she's just saying that not everyone can be like that and not everyone should be like that. Lita and Mickie James are the best examples of the women AJ's describing, and they were both the most popular of their respective eras. The fact that a lot of fans could relate to them worked to their benefit I'm sure.
