I just find it funny that someone who's claiming that looks aren't important keeps mentioning appearances anytime someone will listen to her. She sounds like she has something to prove. I'm not here for it.  |

I think though that because looks are so central to the divas it's inevitably going to be a topic of interest, particularly for someone like AJ who is quite a bit different from an appearance standpoint.

The shade is coming from the way she's addressing the topic though. I just think she sounds incredibly pretentious the way she's pleasantly saying "I'm not as glamorous, therefore I'm more relate-able so you should like me." She keeps trying to get the point across that she's this down to Earth girl, but the way she's painting herself in this superior light contradicts that. I'm not surprised that she's indirectly projecting her insecurities on other Divas though. Rosa's tweets must still haunt her.

I haven't listened to/watched/read the actual interview so maybe it sounds worse in that context, but I'm not really feeling that, especially in the second quote.
I just think she's coming from the perspective of someone who wasn't particularly girly growing up and aspired to be like certain wrestlers. Of course other people related to the women like Trish and Torrie, but I guess she's speaking with her own personal experience as a backdrop. I know two of her three favourites were Lita and Molly so it makes sense.

Last night on YouTube's lowly Monday Night Raw AfterShow, Maria took the opportunity to make several backhanded remarks toward a returning Kelly Kelly. @42:15 First, Maria casually let the shade down by remarking that Kelly had been gone for "something like four months" and goes into the allegations regarding her contract, then, instead of talking about the match, went on to make comments about how she doesn't respect the fact that Kelly takes pictures with other women's men. It's safe to assume that she's referring to the pictures of Kelly and Chris Jericho. What I find funny is that she's insinuating it makes Kelly and therefore the rest of the Divas look bad when I'm pretty sure Jericho is the one who's married, and secondly, if it isn't Maria's boyfriend or husband, what business is it of hers to be discussing? Maria then went on to flippantly describe the match. "Of course Kelly's finisher is the roll up . . ." If Maria paid attention to the match, she would know that Kelly won with a hurricanrana. And can anyone tell me what Maria's finisher was? That hand-me-down bulldog she never pinned anyone with? Oh. "She gets the back handspring back elbow thingy," "Pretty straight forward comeback." Kelly was having none of Maria's shit however, and responded to Maria's cryptic remarks Tuesday evening via Twitter, herself cryptically stating, "I will never mention your name, you will never be relevant. If I have something to say about you, I will say it to you #thebiggerperson." Maria responded, "Relevant enough to call me. #IMALADY." Kanellis then deleted the remark.  We reached out to Kelly for a comment, but she was too busy remaining unphased and employed by WWE to respond. |

Lol@ Maria. I like her, but I'm on Kelly's side here. Maria is just mad that she showed her ass for WWE and still lost her job before becoming champion. Kelly didn't pose nude and she got the title and a long term contract. Say what you want about Kelly, but she's a astute businesswoman. She should be GM over AJ.

Lol, Maria is as dumb as her character on TV was. Acting surprised that Kelly called her. Kelly's tweet SAID if she had a problem she'd talk to her personally and not in public like Maria did. Btw, Kenny from the Spirit Squad has commented on the situation (who keeps asking for his opinion though?): Former WWE star Ken Doane speculates that the online beef between Maria Kanellis and Kelly Kelly has something to do with WWE Champion CM Punk, who has a history with both Divas. Doane wrote:
"Oh shit maria calling out kelly. I cud be wrong here but i wonder if this has to do with a certain punk in wwe. Maria gonna get haters now.
