When I read the headlining and heartbreaking news that Maryse had been relieved of her WWE duties, the past five years flashed before my eyes; and my mind, body, spirit and soul went numb. I still remember following the casting of the 2006 Diva Search online and instantly being drawn toward Maryse because of her mesmerizing beauty and confidence. Despite initially being cut early on into the Diva Search, she vowed to return and when she did, she captivated me in a way that no other has. Our time together has been a wave of emotions. Laughter ( her witty digs at her fellow Divas), joy ( winning the Divas Championship from Michelle McCool in Canada), sorrow ( standing by vigil awaiting her return from a knee injury). Maryse was so much more than a wrestler to me. She was a role model. Someone I looked to for inspiration in my day to day life. I'll never forget her or the times we vicariously shared, and I wish her nothing but the best in life. She deserves it. Maryse Ouellet August 2006 - October 2011The Queen has left the building.
Now, if it's alright, I'd like to take this time to specially address those who I know are also experiencing a difficult time with the grief. Tiffany: Thank you for ( literally) coaxing me out of the darkness and facing this issue with me hand in hand. Maryse brought us together, and together we'll see it through. Guillaume: Our days with Maryse date back to IMDb. She too brought you and I together. I know that when I'm ready to reminisce on Maryse's career, you'll be there to carry me through the threshold. If it weren't for Maryse, there would be no MalFizzle, there would be no Meanest Girls, and there would be no Beautiful Persons. Long live the Queen.

WWE is falling apart at the seams, isn't it?
Aw guys, I'm sorry. I know how it feels to suffer a great wrestling loss, but I imagine it's different for every person. She'll succeed in whatever she chooses to do regardless, even if it's not on television.
It's good that she managed to hop off a sinking ship at least, right? They can have their Eve Torreses if they want.

It's probably part of a conspiracy against the members of this board, really. First I lose Edge, then Tiarnan loses Melina, and now this. I can only assume Cena and Velvet are next to be screwed.

Before I get started, I'd like to thank Malfunkshun for making the new Maryse skin. It's so bittersweet yet fitting right now. I'll probably be rocking this one forever like I did the last one.
This is the most depressed anything wrestled related has ever made me. For 3 and a half years now Maryse has been my favourite wrestler. I still remember her first Divas title win in December 2008 like it was yesterday. I was so overjoyed when she won it. Even though I had already read the spoilers I was still so excited to see that match.
I never really paid any attention to her in the Diva Search. When she debuted on SmackDown in 2008 though she instantly became my favourite. I think the first thing I remember seeing is her hilariously overselling a slap from Cherry which made me burst out laughing.
I remember thinking it was cool when I found out she had the same birthday as me. I remember creating the first ever Maryse Appreciation Thread in history (until someone proves otherwise, I‘m claiming I came up with the idea first!)! I remember how excited I was when I found out she was making an appearance at the shopping centre I worked in. I didn’t get to talk to her outside of her saying “thank you” for holding the door open for her but simply being in her presence for a short while was enough (and seeing her carry the Divas Championship belt in person)!
I was so depressed when she got injured in 2009. Every week for the next few months the likes of myself and B Fizzle would speculate on when and how she would be re-introduced to RAW. When she finally (after having a little trouble!) emerged from that gobbly-gooker costume all was right with the world again.
Even though we all talked about her being pushed again and stuff, I had secretly accepted that her days of competing for titles were over. I thought she was still gonna stick around and have an on-screen role though since she was great at hosting NXT and she had so much charisma that could have been used for other non-wrestling purposes. Sadly, it wasn’t to be. We’re never going to hear “Pourquoi” on TV again. We‘re not going to get that Maryse-Trish dream match (though the memories of their SD v RAW battles orchestrated by myself and B Fizzle will live on). This dark day in our history will forever be known as Black Friday for Beautiful Persons.
But…
In the words of The Queen herself, this is not the end, this is just the beginning:
We have her reality show with Miz to look forward to that you know will happen one day. Another Playboy shoot (you know she’ll do it now)! The TNA rumors that have probably already started. The possibility of her doing a shoot interview and letting the world know how she really felt about Michelle and others! And who knows what else the crazy bitch will do with no WWE PG restrictions on her. I’m cool with her btw. I get to call her a crazy bitch.
In closing, thank you for the memories. And here’s to many more in the future. Godspeed, Maryse!

My relationship with Maryse hasn't been quite as smooth; I could be quite critical of her at times, but her talent was always apparent regardless, and I only really spoke out against her in comparison threads. Maryse was gifted, charismatic and extremely beautiful, and she will be a loss. I grew to appreciate her over the course of the last few years, and I think that she comes across like an intelligent and honest woman with a good heart and an amazing sense of humour. Au revoir, Maryse.

Maryse Ouellet... How do I begin to explain Maryse Ouellet? "Beauty, style, a little vision of perfection."My love affair with Maryse began as early as her Diva Search days. As much as her elimination still haunts me, she has admiringly stayed true to her words: "You'll see me again."In hindsight, I think one of the things that turned me onto Maryse was how much she reminded me of Candice Michelle. Perhaps it was the robe and the air of confidence, but as one of my all-time favorite Divas, a comparison to Candice was like the ultimate compliment. However, during her tenure in OVW, I was taken by just how unique Maryse really was. I remember being enamoured with her early matches, especially her series vs. Michelle McCool. I remember thinking to myself, Who is this gorgeous girl with the immaculate hair who could churn out a cartwheel, a somersault, and a split at a moment's notice? Maryse just embodied characteristics of a Diva we hadn't seen in a long time. I found her road to Divas Championshipdom incredibly inspiring. Maryse winning her first Divas' title (paired with Trish Stratus' surprise return to Raw that week) marked Christmas 2008 as the best in WWE history. Apart from Kelly, the title has never looked more fitting imo. Maryse somehow managed to bring prestige and class to a plastic-looking butterfly belt. As silly as it is, being a Maryse fan helped me discover some the greatest qualities about myself. Along with the Beautiful People, Maryse has taught me what it means to be confident, not take shit from anyone, and to know my self-worth. Maryse has also inspired me to learn French. And as of last year, I can proudly call myself a French minor. I'll always remember Maryse for her unwavering wit, her goofy mannerisms, her incredible sense of style, her refusal to take herself seriously, her broken English, and for telling Maria that "the material look really cheap." Most of all, I'll always be grateful for how supportive she was of La Belle Expertise and maryseouellet.org. This continues to be the crowning moment of my writing career.B & Burke -As three of the greatest Maryse fans on the planet, I've always enjoyed sharing our superiority over the rest of the Diva fandom. Maryse was one of the key inspirations for starting this site, and you two have been there from the beginning. From the Maryse Appreciation threads of yesteryear to the many trials and tribulations of her career. Thank you for allowing me to experience the 7 stages of grief with you. Although I might be still stuck on the first. Tiarnan: Thank you for taking mercy on our souls during our time of need. I apologize for being less-than-diplomatic during Melina's struggle. Though, I think we can agree that Maryse's release is a greater loss to WWE as a whole. lol jk And to all the Maryse fans (even the casual ones). Thanks for your support. Be sexy

A small moment of silence for Maryse followed by a quick tribute video: Goodbye Maryse (Sorry for the terrible quality. My computer hates me so I had little to work with)

Also regardless of whether people liked her or not, it really is a loss for the division, she was by far one of WWE's greatest characters. It's never a fun thing when someone's favorite leaves, and obviously there will never be a diva like her.
I really do feel for you guys, like I did for Tiarnan when Melina was let go, and I hope that you guys find another diva that can fill half the void Maryse has left.

I like Maryse and think that she was one of the better Divas on the roster and it saddens me that she was released. But at least seems she seems happy about it so that is a positive. Anyway I will miss seeing her on WWE TV. I wish her luck and continued success outside of wrestling. B, Mal and Burke stay strong.

This frees up a spot on the roster. Hopefully it'll go to Naomi, but knowing WWE, the'll probably call up Audrey Marie.
