I went to see Age of Ultron last night. It moved so much quicker than the first one, thank goodness. It was really, really good. There's only a mid-credits scene this time, so don't sit right to the end. I still can't believe they built the whole movie hinting towards Hawkeye dying, and then killing off Quicksilver out of nowhere, with his last line being, "Bet you didn't see that coming." Fucking Whedon.

I didn't even realize this was out yet but yesterday a guy invited me to see this tonight and offered to pay in honor of my birthday, so I guess I'll go just to meet my yearly 'Friday night plans' quota. It'll be my first time seeing a movie in IMAX though, so that should be cool.

I'm about to go see this too. I was gonna watch it last night but probably would've fallen asleep because I didn't sleep the night before. IMAX is pretty great, especially if it's free lol. You'll love it. Especially if they show you the Jurassic World trailer in 3D beforehand, which they probably will. And Star Wars. And prolly a Disney movie. Don't miss the trailers.

They're doing a beer tasting prior to the movie and I know I can trust him to drive my drunk ass home.

This was cool. It was pretty much a copy and paste of the first one tho, just with a different villain and new heroes. But I enjoyed it. I'm looking forward to Civil War and Infinity War. I still can't believe they built the whole movie hinting towards Hawkeye dying, and then killing off Quicksilver out of nowhere, with his last line being, "Bet you didn't see that coming." Fucking Whedon. That bummed me out, but I was expecting it. I had heard there was a rumor he wasn't gonna make it. I was fearing for Thor and Hawkeye's life too. I'm actually surprised no one else died. But really, why didn't he pull them out of the way, or why didn't Hawkeye just take 5 steps to the right with the kid?
Quicksilver was cool, but just because I like Aaron Taylor-Johnson. I was actually a bit disappointed they didn't do more with him. Scarlet Witch was awesome tho. I loved how she moved at the beginning like the chick from The Grudge. Then when she went all Dark Phoenix on the robots after Quicksilver died. Happy she's part of the team now.
Speaking of the new team tho... lol... I'm gonna go ahead and pass if that's what they're coming with for part 3. I mean, I'm sure Iron Man, Hulk and Thor will be back, but. That was such a B team.
I actually did kinda feel for Ultron. He was like 30 seconds old and had all this shit just thrown on him. Talk about pressure. I'd blow up the world too, shit.
Vision looked cool, but you know his days are numbered. Thanos gonna come pluck that thing out his forehead any time now. That was a cool tease too, but I was sad we didn't see Spider-Man, Miss Marvel, or the Guardians of the Galaxy. But oh well, we can't have it all. And they gave us a lot.

Oh, and something I was side-eyeing at the end... Falcon's ass... "This isn't me, you're the Avenger" or whatever he said to Steve at the party. Well bitch... we're on a flying city at the moment, fighting flying robots, you can fly.. Nick showed up... War Machine showed up... bitch, where is you? Then he shows up at the end acting like now he's part of the team?? Can we help you?

I was too tired to get into my thoughts last night but first of all I just wanna say that Miss Joss really needs to chill somewhere with her signature 'shocking deaths' she does in every movie or TV show she's at the helm of. It's not so shocking when you do it every single time, and in this particular film it was just extra and unnecessary. Also, I've noticed with these movies that he recycles a lot of his own themes from previous work. In the first Avengers when Loki was using the Tesseract to turn the Avengers against one another, that was basically lifted directly from The Yoko Factor episode of Buffy where Spike did the same to the Scoobies. Also the entire scene with Ultron coming to life and going rogue reminded me so much of Joss' Dangerous arc from Astonishing X-Men that it took me out of the film. And there was even a dialogue exchange between the Avengers shortly after that seemed to be taken directly from the I, Robot... You, Jane episode of Buffy. I mean I guess it's okay for him to plagiarize recycle his own work, but I don't know, it just seems kinda lazy, but I'm sure he's got a short amount of time to present the studio with a story, and if he's able to do it without the general public catching on, more power to him.
But honestly for the next movie I don't even need nor want some bullshit story that half ass makes sense of everything. Just give me two and a half hours of the Avengers kicking ass and blowing shit up, especially Scarlet Witch.

I don't know if I want to see this. I didn't really like the first one and I hated Thor 2 which I watched recently but I did love Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Something about that just worked for me when I'm usually not into these type of movies.

I'm not even sure how I ended up seeing this. One minute I'm getting food, the next my friend is texting me asking to meet her at the theater. I really enjoyed it, but I do think the first one was better. Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch stole the show for me. But I really could've done without the Natasha/Bruce side romance plot. I remember hearing that Black Widow was supposed to play an important part in this. Apparently being downgraded to a love interest is considered 'huge'. That was my biggest gripe with the movie. In regards to the 'new' Avengers, that's how the team is. It's always changing. They're obviously not just gonna make them the main stars in Avengers 3, I'm sure we'll be seeing them transitioned into other movies to give them more depth. At least Falcon and hopefully Scarlet Witch. I don't think Quicksilver is dead though. He'll probably be back in some other movie as a surprise and to tie Scarlet Witch in as well. Also I have mixed feelings on the mid credits scene. On one hand, I think it's awesome that they're alluding to the Infinity Wars. On the other, I would've been fine if it was just Starlord dancing around. Oh the other thing I wanted to say was I loved that they gave Hawkeye some depth. I think that's why I didn't like him in the last Avengers movie. But it was great to see what his life was like and his family too. And I'm not sure if it was their way of writing him off, but if it was at least it was happy.

But now that Jay mentioned it, I really am bummed Ms. Marvel didn't make an appearance. I forgot that I was hoping for that.

It was okay. I was really disappointed Namor still hasn't been introduced. Hulk and Sub-mariner teaming up to wreck shit is the only time Hulk is tolerable.

Hulk and Sub-mariner teaming up to wreck shit is the only time Hulk is tolerable. So, you dislike Superman, you hate Aquaman, and now I discover that you find The Hulk intolerable for the majority of the time, it seems as though we're destined to become enemies (on comic book related matters, anyway).
