Discuss your favourite shark related movies and be sure to cast your vote in the poll! I love them all basically as you might have figured by me making this thread. I can’t really choose between Jaws and Piranha 3D for my favourite though. I went with Piranha* since it’s more relevant to my recent interests. * Yes, I know piranha’s technically aren’t sharks but just work with me here. I want to see Shark Night 3D. Not really interested in Piranha 3DD all that much though. Btw, shame on all of you for not telling me that there’s a movie coming out next year called 2 Headed Shark Attack…starring Carmen Electra and Brooke Hogan! I think we already have our 2013 Academy Award winner for Best Picture. And I really want to see this one: A freak tsunami traps shoppers at a coastal Australian supermarket inside the building ... along with a pack of tiger sharks!Dawn of the Dead...WITH SHARKS. I feel like I've been waiting my entire life for this movie to be made.

I went with Jaws because although I enjoyed Piranha 3D, I've only seen it once. Sharktopus is hilarious, but for the wrong reasons. I haven't seen any of the others that you've listed. Shark Attack 3 is my second favourite shark movie. That line is my favourite movie quote ever.

I've only seen the first Shark Attack. I didn't even know there were any sequels.
I nominate the following as the greatest shark related death in a movie:

I've only seen the first Shark Attack. I didn't even know there were any sequels. I've never seen the first or second one. I saw the third one once John Barrowman rose to fame here in 2005, I think it was shown on a shitty sky channel. It's awful, but Barrowman saves it. It's so hard to get it on DVD though, it's always overpriced. I'm tempted to get the Creature Features 10 Pack from Amazon which has Shark Attack 1, 2 & 3, Crocodile 1 & 2, Octopus 1 & 2, Spiders 1 & 2 and Creature from the Black Lake.

There's a movie on the Horror Channel right now about the Loch Ness Monster. I'm surprised the US Sy-Fy channel hasn't made a Jaws vs. Nessie type movie yet.

I know this is the "Shark Movies Appreciation Thread" but I'm going to treat it as the "Bad Movie Appreciation Thread". The Horror Channel is showing 'Zombie King' on October 3rd at quarter to 1 in the morning. I've never got round to seeing it but it sounds like my dream movie, Wrestlers vs. Zombies.

I haven't seen it. I'm not even sure if it's out yet, but I am confident this will be the greatest shark movie ever.

I voted for Piranha. Sure, there wasn't a shark in the whole damn movie, but what does Piranha have that Jaws doesn't? Kelly Brook in a red metallic bikini.
SyFy makes some pretty amazing shark movies. I saw this one recently that had Kristy Swanson and some fine guy in it.
Also, I can't find the scene on YouTube, but there was one where a shark attacked a girl's water polo match. Where else but SyFy? I'll probably be first in line in the recording queue for that Carmen Electra one.

I was browsing for a movie to watch last night and this thread inspired me to pick The Reef.
It was pretty Open Water-esque and the characters insistence to stand (tread?) still instead of pressing onward whenever the shark appeared really annoyed the fuck out of me. It was pretty good though. If you're bored and have Netflix, it's worth a shot.

I just found an interview with John Barrowman from the Jonathan Ross Show that I've never seen before (I know, I'm shocked too), in which he discusses Shark Attack 3 and that line.

I was coming to this thread to mention it and had forgot that we had already talked about it, lol. I might watch it tonight.

The Sunday marathon on SyFy today is shark themed. My phone has been put on silent.

I finally saw Shark Night 3D (well, just plain old Shark Night since I watched it on DVD without any 3D). I liked it but I think I would've enjoyed it a lot more if I had seen it in the cinema.
The Reef and Piranha 3D still set the standard for recent shark related movies for me.
And I still want to see that Bait movie.
