Stephen King recently commented on the remake, mentioning Lohan by name. Here is what he had to say…

"I've heard rumblings about a Carrie remake, as I have about The Stand and It. Who knows if it will happen? The real question is why, when the original was so good? I mean, not Casablanca, or anything, but a really good horror-suspense film, much better than the book. Piper Laurie really got her teeth into the bad-mom thing. Although Lindsay Lohan as Carrie White… hmmm. It would certainly be fun to cast. I guess I could get behind it if they turned the project over to one of the Davids: Lynch or Cronenberg."

Word is that Lohan is very excited that King named her when discussing the film, and she is very interested in the project. Lohan was overheard saying that working with King would be "epic." Lohan is reportedly a huge King fan, and is also hoping to land a role in the upcoming adaptation of The Dark Tower.

I didn't even know they were talking about remaking it. If they insist on doing so I might be able to get behind Lindsay as Carrie actually.

Hmm. The original is very good, better than the book imo, but it is very dated so I wouldn't absolutely hate the possibility of a remake. Lindsay really is the only person for the role though if that's the pale, skinny, freckly route they want to take again. She could make it work and maybe even remind people that she can act.

I think Amanda Seyfried could maybe make a good Carrie also.

Lindsay may have some competition.

Megan Fox is ready to battle it out for her dream role — Carrie!

The former Transformers star wants to play the tortured teen in a planned remake of the 1976 horror classic based on Stephen King‘s novel.

“Megan is a huge fan of the original and would love the chance to play the lead,” reveals a source close to the star.

“She’s 25 now but she’s sure she could still do justice to teenage Carrie. She’s told her people to make it happen.”

Recent reports claimed Fox turned down the chance to play Wonder Woman on the big screen.

“Megan has been linked to the role and there was an approach at one point but she’s not going anywhere near Wonder Woman,” says a source close to the star.

“She wants to move on to more serious roles.”

Insiders recently revealed that Fox is rethinking her career by taking a break from blockbusters and heading for Broadway.

“Megan is desperate to get away from her Transformers image and move on with her acting career,” a source said last month.

“Theater really appeals to her. She has nothing lined up yet but she’s open to offers. She hopes to mix theater work with some smaller indy movies and only do big movies if they are right for her.”

I can't picture Megan as Carrie at all.

Insiders I can reveal that she isn't being offered blockbusters anymore and really has no choice in this matter.

I just honestly think the only way I'm going to watch this movie is with Lindsay in the lead role. She has so much inner turmoil in her life that she could channel into it. Can you imagine all the metaphors for her career? Crazy family, the whole "They're all gonna laugh at you." scene, being shunned by her peers (Paris), and then finally snapping on her classmates (the media) at prom. That would just be amazing.

I really want it to be Lindsay. I can't see them taking a chance on her though. I think they'll end up going with a lesser known actress for the role.

And I love Megan but I really can't imagine her as Carrie.

You're right. Lindsay and Megan's careers are over. We'll get stuck with Ashley Greene.

As I suspected, neither Lindsay or Megan got the role and it went to some bitch named Chloë Moretz.
