As noted earlier here on the website, a match pitting Michelle McCool against Layla this Sunday at Extreme Rules will carry a "loser leaves WWE" stipulation. As noted earlier, while the match was announced as a Loser Leaves SmackDown! Match at Tuesday's WWE SmackDown! taping, "WWE" is overdubbed in placed of "SmackDown!" during the telecast, which has already aired in Australia. In an update on this, numerous WWE sources are now saying that Michelle McCool is legitimately leaving WWE, not taking time off as some speculated. Therefore, this Sunday will be her final match with WWE. Source: www.wrestlinginc.com/wi/news/2011/0429/539135/It'll be weird if she leaves. I'm just so used to her being at the forefront of the division. I also wanted to see her have another face turn or a possible feud with Maryse.

This could be a great opportunity for some of the other Divas.

Hmm. Almost too good to be true tbh. I’ll believe it when I see it. If it is true then it’ll be weird seeing diva matches on PPV involving others. I can’t remember the last time a diva match made it to PPV that didn’t involve Michelle. It still pisses me off how they scrapped Maryse and Gail’s Divas title match that one time and switched it to a tag match featuring LayCool at the last minute. I was looking forward to that match. IIRC, the match ended up happening the next night on RAW instead but Maryse’s historic second Divas Championship win should have happened on the big show.

ugh, that sucks. Michelle accomplished so much in her career, but I feel like she was never able to display her full potential. she's proven herself in the ring; forever pegged as "the Undertaker's wife," she could have done much more. i can't feel too bad for her tho... out of all of the Divas, she's been given the most opportunities. but that's a good thing. she deserved most of those accolades imo. she worked very hard to become an impressive wrestler in a relatively short amount of time. sure 9 years isn't a cake walk, but look at what she's accomplished since her Diva Search days compared to say, Torrie Wilson... Divas will definitely benefit from there being a new spot open in the top tier. however, in terms of ringwork, she'll definitely be missed. Michelle is one of the few Divas that can carry a match. the fact that Maryse and Melina have had the best matches of their careers with Michelle kind of goes to show what she brought to the division. Similar to Victoria in her heyday, Michelle is a strong in-ring worker who can make even dreadfuls like Maria look good. i was constantly impressed with her ability to carry certain moves, despite her size. i've noticed that certain Divas were only comfortable pulling their most complicated and showy moves in matches with Michelle, with the confidence that they could pull it off. anyway, those are just my observations. Michelle wasn't a talker by any means; sometimes i wish she could've just let her ringwork speak for itself. then again, Laycool was kind of a blessing for the division. i can't remember the last time two Divas were given that much screentime, mic time, attention, and longevity. (too bad Divas like Kelly had to be overshadowed in the process). hopefully WWE will use what they learned from the past couple years and use it towards developing future Divas. now... with that said, i can finally breathe easy knowing that Lay-Cool is dunzo, meanwhile the Beautiful People are on the brink of a reunion! cheers.

Other than her stuff with Maryse, she’s always been my least favourite diva. Even her critically acclaimed matches/promos bored me to tears. Honestly, I won’t miss her one bit. I’m awful.

I feel kind of indifferent on the whole thing. Michelle has come a long way since the Diva Search, but all of her accolades have no meaning to me. You can be the most decorated wrestler in the world, but if the fans don't care, what's the point? I'd be lying if I said I was sad to see her go, and she's not leaving under circumstances where you think she could have done more, like Candice Michelle for example. It also raises an eyebrow that she hasn't worked a house show in months and now is just randomly bailing out. Makes me question her passion and if she was so worthy of everything she was given. But at the same time she's married and probably wants to start a family soon. All I can do is bid her adieu.

It also raises an eyebrow that she hasn't worked a house show in months and now is just randomly bailing out. she was healing an injured leg. Honestly, I won’t miss her one bit. in that case, i'm going to have to ask that you relinquish your icon immediately. Maryse is going through a tough enough time right now. anti-Marseille™ propaganda will not be tolerated.

Yeah, but that never stopped her from making TV appearances. I just don't get doing one and not the other.
Some of these reports are also saying that Undertaker wants her home while he's out, and that she'll likely be coming back when he does. Lets not splurge on a going away party just yet.

I'd lol if after all this talk Layla is the one who ends up losing the match and is then legit released afterwards. anti-Marseille™ propaganda will not be tolerated. Is there really not a better name to call them? I have (football) reasons to really despise the name Marseille.

Yeah, but that never stopped her from making TV appearances. I just don't get doing one and not the other. it makes sense considering Michelle is one of their top Divas. of course, they're going to protect their investment. why further exasperate her injury on non-televised events combating the likes of Rosa and Nikki Bella? it's only been until recently that she's even removed her boot on tv. Is there really not a better name to call them? I have (football) reasons to really despise the name Marseille. deal with it.

Michelle injured her leg in February. I can't find any results of her appearing at a house show since September. If her leg is in that bad of shape where she can't fulfill all of the duties expected of her, I think time off is the best thing she could do. Unless she decides that she loves life at home, I'm sure we'll see her back. In the mean time, I'm excited to see what they do with the women's division from here.

If I knew Michelle was leaving, I might not have been so anti Maryse-to-SD last week. She could have taken that top heel spot. Who will it go to now? Layla or Alicia? I guess it could be Kharma but I'm almost certain she'll be on RAW.

Michelle injured her leg in February. I can't find any results of her appearing at a house show since September. Michelle has been suffering injuries all throughout 2009. (remember when she was stumbling around on crutches?) unfortunately, injuries aren't something that just occur once and are forgotten; they insist upon themselves. her issues didn't just start this February. however, it could very well be the straw that broke the camel's back. due to her injuries, she's been taken off house shows despite being scheduled for them. as a precautionary measure. she hasn't been avoiding them just because. also, given the fact that she's required to perform nearly every week on tv, i think missing house shows is forgivable. though, i know she's participated in an international tour since September. i don't blame her for taking time off, a body can only take so much; she's been suffering for awhile now.

So we agree that taking time off is the best thing for her to do.
