Tommy Dreamer: I used to watch ECW with my Dad when I was little, and I just thought he was cool. Beaulah too.
Billy Gunn: As a child, I wanted to grow up to be just like Billy Gunn. He was blonde, had a great butt, and didn't give a fuck. I feel like I've succeeded in that goal on all levels.
Sable: I've always said that Sable was like WWE's version of women's liberation. She really changed the game for women in the business and showed that they could be a main attraction in their own right. The original Diva. Sunny who?
Trish Stratus: After falling out of wrestling like most kids do at age 10, I was flipping the channels one night and stumbled across something that would change my life forever. Trish Stratus. She was ~the most beautiful thing ever~ and I was hooked from that second on. I loved following her career and growing with her as a fan as she went on to do all of the great things that she did in her career. Totally made me proud. Love you, Trish.
Stacy Keibler: She was good on the mic, funny, not completely useless in the ring, and she played the snobby bitch role to a T. Her face run towards the end of her career was pretty boring, but I always admired that she told WWE where to stick it and went off on her own when they tried to use her "fame" to their advantage after drafting her to SmackDown! and leaving her on the sidelines for months. You know how some guys got burned by a girl in high school and resent any girl like that afterwards? She's totally that girl to WWE. Just ask Maria, she knows.
Jazz: While I was a hardcore Trish Stratus fan boy, I still loved watching Jazz tear through the other Divas, even when Trish was in the opposite corner. A ruthless, no-nonsense, stiff, take no prisoners bitch. My kind of girl.
Torrie Wilson: When she first debuted with WWE, I hated her. I was such a huge Trish stan that loathed her by default. It didn't help that I thought she was the one who injured Trish's ankle that time she was out of action for a few months. But after she was drafted to SmackDown! and grew into the beautiful, glorious, most compassionate baby face of all time, she quickly became a favorite of mine. Her storylines with Dawn Marie and Sable were that of fantasy booking.
Rene Dupree:
Velvet Sky: You're all aware of my love affair with Velvet Sky, but it started long ago. While I was always a huge WWE fan growing up, it lost its edge as I got older, and I needed more. That's where I got my WEW on the side. "Talia" was trashy, rude, and she dgaf. My girl. I was excited when I learned that TNA was developing their own women's division and that she was going to be invited for a few tryout matches, where she was eventually signed, and the rest as they say, is history.
Candice Michelle: Candice annoyed the fuck out of me at first. The most useless of all the Diva Search contestants that got hired. She didn't even make the top ten. Then one day I decided she did good photo shoots and put that positive karma out there, and BAM! Next thing I know, she's referring Torrie Wilson and *beep*'s match at the Great American Bash and getting involved in their feud. From there she really went on to prove her worth in Vince Devil's, always commanding the spotlight and being a good character. I also really admired her dedication to improving her craft when she didn't have to, and I think she was on a roll until her neck injury brought her to a screeching halt. Had it not been for that, I have no doubt that she would have went on to cement herself as the next "it" girl she was quickly becoming.
Kelly Kelly: I'll be honest, I came for Kelly when she was first signed by WWE. I thought she was just going to be another Lauren Jones (who?), but she quickly won me over with her charm and likeability. Despite what some people think of her in-ring skills, I think she's one of the few newer girls who really loves what they do and wants to improve and be remembered like some of the other Divas mentioned in this post.
Maryse: Similar to my Trish story, I fell out of wrestling for a while in 2008. It was just lame. Until one Tuesday night, I was flipping channels out of boredom and saw my favorite from the 2006 Diva Search, Maryse, kicking Michelle McCool's ass all over ECW. It was the Stratus effect from that moment and I'm still down for the ride to this day. Maryse winning the Divas Championship for the first time was one of the most liberating moments in WWE in, like, forever, and she's the only Diva who does more than the bare minimum when it comes to her character. She really can do no wrong. Love you, Maryse.
The Miz: Maybe I just like underdogs? When Miz debuted I couldn't believe his ass had finally gotten WWE to notice him after all that talk of wanting to be a wrestler on The Real World/Road Rules Challenges. I was so embarrassed for him when he forgot his lines during the Diva Search. Then his awful douche bag Frat boy gimmick. Miz was going nowhere quick, but somehow, he's done a complete 180 on our asses and turned his career around. One of the few guys who is good in all aspects of the game. I personally think he's being primed for the main event scene. Its only a matter of time
Lacey Von Erich: As you may have noticed, I have an eye for talent . I told yall to watch out for Lacey, and look at her now. In less than a year she's become one of the most popular and talked about Knockouts, tag team champion, and along with her Beautiful People comrades, one of TNA's biggest ratings draws. All of that haterade from Angelina groupies, wrestling purists and feminists isn't going to hold her down. Get 'em, girl.
Natalya: I think she's caute, and one of the best pure wrestlers in the business today, male or female.
These are only some of mine. I'll add more later. Who are yours?
