I just read that Madison Rayne is now the longest reigning Knockout champion. She has held it for 188 days. That's just sad and she rarely defends the title which is why she's had it this long.

Awesome. She's easily the best female TNA has ever produced.

Good. It's so much better when the belt isn't thrown about (ref: Tara/ODB/Angelina).

Not that big of an accomplishment imo. The focus of her reign has remained on Mickie vs. Tara and The Beautiful People. Madge is still just as basic as ever.

On one hand, it's good since she's a native talent and therefore the general type they should try to emphasize. Building her had purpose. On the other, the interest, focus, and segment rankings in the division are not what they once were and it's time, perhaps past time, for a change.
The classic Beautiful People version 1 Love/Sky run as heels was the peak of entertainment and interest in the Knockouts segment of the product. While the Kong vs Gail feud was the peak of match rivalry. TNA should give it's distaff talent a bit more personal time and a new feature that can relight a higher level of interest in the ladies.
Lord knows they are not using most of said time for other as productive things these days.

I like Madison. And I have to give TNA credit for having faith in one of their own stars for once and not immediately giving the title to the WWE has been at the earliest possible opportunity. Although I’m sure Mickie will get it eventually.

She'll get it tonight I think. I don't see them shaving Mickie's hair off. It would be a bad thing for both her appeal in TNA and her music career.
Mickie should get a decent title run. I just hope she doesn't keep the belt till BFG or something of that nature.

Good for her. And agreed, this accomplishment is better suited for someone whose 'homegrown' for lack of a better term. I don't really watch TNA, but she's definitely my favorite KO.

I would have be impressed and give Madison some credit if she actually defended the title on a regular basis. She only defended it on PPV and mostly competed in non title and tag matches. So if she got pinned she wouldn't lose the belt. So it's pretty easy to keep a title if you do that.

Most of TNA's titles are forgettable lately. Mainly because backstage rarely treats them with care. The main thing most are is some side show to help a tired shouldn't be main event stable try to hold on and justify the excess time it takes up.
In fairness, the WWE isn't really better in this regard. Save maybe concerning their top two belts.
