If I could find a gif of Melina yawning I'd so post it right now.

Melina's new attire makes her boobs look bigger... I'm a fan of the change.

If I could find a gif of Melina yawning I'd so post it right now. Melina can't yawn because she can't breath. She's strapped in too tight.

The thing about her moveset is so true. She tries so hard to be flashy with some of her moves to the detriment of the match a lot of the time. Unless you know you're going to be able to hit a move properly 99.9% of the time you shouldn't even attempt it. I feel the same way about Eve.

So true! And you know what those Melina fans always say. "It's not her fault her opponents can't sell her moves." So what they're saying is Melina does things she knows will make her matches bad. Right. So she can't wrestle and she's dumb!

I'm so glad that article called her out of her Code Red, she really puts no effort into it. However, the Sunset Split is awesome and most divas take it perfectly. The person who wrote that article just sour about this.

a) Melina HAS been figurehead of the division for years. She was always the one they chose to do the WrestleMania press conferences: she even did it when she was injured and wasn't going to appear on the card. She's been champion more than any other woman on the roster, and she was featured on TV constantly even when she wasn't champion or in a title feud. Someone's bitter because their favourite Diva has never been trusted with that kind of role. Sadly, 32 was approaching and in the WWE world that isn't good.
b) Melina's LA Sunset/Last Call works fine the majority of the time. She's messed it up on TV about twice. Once with Jillian and once with Alicia. Likewise with the Sunset Split, although she's messed that up a couple more times because she USES it more. So what? Mickie messes up her DDT and her Mick Kick a lot, and the bulk of people don't complain about that. Then again, Melina is Satan and is scrutinized for everything she does.
c) The red carpet point would be valid if she didn't get over as a face. The fact is that face Melina was the most over woman on the roster. So yeah, that's stupid as well.
d) WTF cares about her Twitter? Her fans read it. I know Melina's popular and all, but I doubt being sweet to a bunch of fans online is going to affect her heel run? We're past the point where WWE expect people to stay in character ALL THE TIME. I'm pretty confident that most of her fellow heels act out of character on Twitter as well. But again, for some bizarre reason Melina is held to a different standard.
e) I love how they feel the need to throw in the Morrison/Melina/Trish thing in there. You know, that stupid, petty incident in which Melina's name was never mentioned by a reputable source. Keep in mind that Trish was perfectly happy to mention how Morrison dared to defy her was rude to her.
f) Every diva goes through a rough patch. Mickie, Victoria, Molly, Jazz, Torrie, Maryse, Beth, Natalya, Candice Michelle etc etc etc etc etc. I guess it's a testament to how great Melina was that when it happens to HER, it has to be down to some sort of shenanigans, whereas with them it just wasn't their time.
g) I don't care whether she wins or loses. Melina will always be both the sexiest and the most dominant woman on television.
Rant over.

I don't think Melina has ever been the top diva or the figurehead of the division.
2001-2006 - Trish Stratus 2007/08 - Mickie James/Beth Phoenix 2008-2011 - Michelle McCool Now - Kelly Kelly?
Around 2007 after Trish left and before Michelle's push really began is the only time period that's kinda unclear. I guess you could make an argument for Mickie, Beth, Melina or Candice at that time.

Post-2006 WWE was never comfortable with pushing Mickie as head Diva. They were just forced because the crowd wouldn't buy into Candice and co. They had Melina go into 'Mania as Champion twice, and even when Beth was the champion, WWE made sure to give Melina the bulk of the promotional stuff to do. They've always been keen on her, as was clear when they pushed her as undisputed top face even when she was struggling to get over after her return from injury in 2008.
And Michelle was so not the face of the division 2008-2009 btw.

My point was that Melina was never the figurehead of the division for years like that article claimed.
At best she was part of an ensemble cast and shared top billing with Mickie, Beth etc at a time when there wasn't really anyone who was the "top star" (until Michelle's neverending push).
Trish Status is a good example of someone who was the figurehead of the diva division for years. Melina isn't.

Melina was the figurehead of the division in 2009. That would've continued for the bulk of 2010 had she not gotten injured. Michelle got pushed heavily in 2009, but Melina always had the one up on her purely because she was the top face whereas Michelle was the heel.
And if you don't consider Melina to have ever been top female then I don't understand how Mickie and Beth got a mention on your list two posts up.

Melina wasn't close to being the top diva in 2009.
Beth, Maryse, Mickie and Michelle all had much more high profile roles than her for the duration of that year.

Oh wow, let's see.
Beth: Enters the year as champion. Loses title to Melina at Royal Rumble. Loses cleanly to Melina about four more times. Appears sporadically on Raw until October, doing fuck all, until she gets drafted to SmackDown in October. Beats some jobbers on SmackDown and makes random appearances in the Michelle/Mickie feud.
Maryse: Wins Diva's belt, goes to Raw, feuds with Mickie and gets injured. Out for the majority of the year until she returns to feud with - you guessed it - Diva's champ Melina.
Mickie: Does nothing at the start of year, playing second fiddle (often third fiddle) to Melina in tag matches. Feuds with Maryse, wins title. Competes in random title matches every so often but doesn't really do anything. Closes year in a feud with Michelle.
Melina: Returns in late 2008. Immediately thrown into a feud with champion Beth. Cleanly defeats Beth on PPV at the beginning of 2009. Defeats Beth cleanly three or four more times, officially ending Beth's run on top. Goes into 'Mania as Women's Champion. Gets drafted to SmackDown. Loses title to Michelle but continues to feature on every single episode of SD until she gets traded to Raw. Wins the Diva's title in under a minute. Ends 2009 as reigning Diva's Champion.
Yeah, wanna rethink that? The only woman to match Melina's success in 2009 was Michelle.

The beginning of the year Beth was still with Santino and got far more TV time than any other diva.
The middle of the year Melina was the top babyface on SD feuding with Michelle while Mickie was the top babyface on RAW feuding with Maryse. Mickie was always more popular/booked as a bigger fan favourite than Melina and considering she was also on the A show and winning her fued while Melina was on the B show losing her feud I'd say Mickie was the bigger star at this point, no?
The end of the year Michelle/LayCool vs. Mickie was clearly the only thing in the diva division getting any attention.
Again, my whole point is that Melina has never been the top diva. I like her better than Beth, Mickie and especially Michelle but she was always in a lesser role than at least one of them at any given time.
