pwmania.comPWMania has exclusively learned that WWE plans on giving Jerry Lawler his wish, and “The King” will get to wrestle at WrestleMania.
The plans, which are considered “top secret” at the moment, are for Lawler to be involved in some sort of gimmick or handicap match involving Michael Cole.
WWE Chairman Vince McMahon feels they have invested so much time and air time into Michael Cole’s heel persona, they need to get (and we quote) “some sort of payoff or resolution to the investment.”
According to a key insider in WWE, Lawler and Cole will end up “in some sort of situation where they blow off Cole’s heel run on the biggest show of the year.”
We will continue to monitor this developing story as more becomes available. This sounds about right but the only thing holding me off from taking this story seriously is that it's a PWMania exlusive. I've been following these guys since they were a shitty little fantasy wrestling site in 2003. They ain't ever had no damn exclusive story. Oh well, it sounds like a good guess. I don't see how they're just gonna make Cole stop being heel out of nowhere though. Even if they do, he'll still be booed, because he still sucks.

As long as it’s kept short I would be fine with this. Can’t wait for the “Michael Cole gets a WM match while (insert random nobody) is left off the card!??” bitching brigade begins. Yeah, Michael Cole is a more entertaining character than generic jobbers #1 through 347. Deal with it.

People take WrestleMania too seriously. It's always been built up as an entertainment event rather than a wrestling spectacular. The main event for the first WrestleMania was Piper and Orndorff vs Hogan and Mr. T... Mr. T the ultra popular entertaining non-wrestler guy.
Why do people think we need two people classed as "great wrestlers" to go out there, rolling around the ring with hold after hold for 30 minutes. We want to be entertained, not bored.

I haven't watched wrestling for "wrestling" in forever.

I haven't watched wrestling for "wrestling" in forever. If I wanted to watch wrestling for "wrestling" I wouldn't be watching WWE week in week out.
