Summer Tracks
Fascinating.
Summer is here which means sun, fun, lazy days (not for me maybe for you), beaches, vacations, and hot summer music.
This month I'm going to get into the best summer songs. Can you think of any? And since the Fatal 4-Way PPV is coming up, I'm going to list my four top songs of this summer.
Let's get this started shall we.
This is a little embarrassing but when I think of a summer song I think of "Summer Girls" by LFO. You know which one that is, trust me: "I like girls that wear Abercrombie and Fitch." That one.
I remember this song so much because it came out 10 years ago right when I was getting ready to go to college and I worked at Abercrombie. (Yes, that is the truth I was a greeter and no I wasn't shirtless)
Anyway I'd go to the Flats in Cleveland, which are non-existent anymore but were amazing at the time, go to a club, and this song would be played every hour on the hour. The DJ would stop the song right at the Abercrombie part and everyone would scream the lyrics as loud as they could. For those that weren't there or even born at the time Abercrombie clothing was the Ed Hardy of today except less cheesy. Sorry, Mike the Situation.
Next up is in my opinion the greatest college bar song of all time that makes girls get on top of the bar and dance like there's no tomorrrow. "Pour Some Sugar on Me" by Def Leppard. I don't know why when I think of summer I think of downtown Cleveland and this song. I guess that's my hayday of going out and listening to music. If you're a Mizfit you had to know I'd put a Def Leppard song in there since they are my favorite band of the '80s.
Moving on I think any Sublime song is perfect to put on while laying on the beach relaxing. Just the smooth sound of "Santeria" gets you in the mood to soak up some rays.
One song I can't stand that just came out which is supposedly a summer song but I think it's horrible is the new Katy Perry song. The worst part is next month I will probably say it's on my iPod like a Ke$ha song. Speaking of Ke$ha anyone see her on SNL? I'm no fashion designer but hers should be shot. Those outfits made her body look a little bigger than it should. Wow, that was mean but to make it up "Love is my Drug" is now on my iPod so now I have three Ke$ha songs on my iPod and every time I hear them I go "Oh no, it’s that stupid song again" and end up singing it.
Time to talk about my songs of the summer and to do that all you have to do is buy one CD. And it's not "Now that's what I call music 45."
It's "Fever" by Bullet for my Valentine. I knew this CD was going to be good when I heard the first single "Your Betrayal" was released. The best part is once I got the CD as much as I liked "Your Betrayal" it wasn’t even in my top four songs. I thought
Poison by BFMV was their best CD and didn't think anything could come close but Fever is right up there with it. So you want to know my top four songs for summer …
1. "Pretty on the Outside" by Bullet for my Valentine
2. "Alone" by Bullet for my Valentine
3. "Bittersweet Memories" by Bullet for my Valentine
4. "The Last Fight" by Bullet For my Valentine
Other notables for the summer are any song from Framing Hanley's new CD, definately a good buy and lately I've been watching the movie Rockstar so "We all Die Young" is on all the time in my household.
WWE's Fatal 4-Way PPV song "Showstopper" by TobyMac is very good as well. The song "Tonight" off the same name album is my favorite probably because the singer of Skillet lends his vocals on it.
Alright, I'm done talking about summer songs I'm going to go blast BFMV while laying out by my pool getting some sun annoying my old Russian neighbors.
They won't complain because I'm The Miz and I'm Awesome!!!
