Marvel and Fox are teaming up to bring the X-Men to television with two new series. Hellfire and Legion are currently in development for the Fox and FX networks, respectively. The 1960s-set Hellfire will focus on the eponymous club which was featured in X-Men: First Class and whose millionaire members are bent on conquering the world. One special agent is on the case after discovering that "a power-hungry woman with extraordinary abilities" is leading the charge, according to Variety. Hellfire is still in development, whereas Legion is already at the pilot phase. The FX project will star the title character otherwise familiar to X-Men fans as Professor Charles Xavier's son. Noah Hawley, who currently runs Fargo for the network, will spearhead the series. Fox execs first announced plans to bring the classic superhero franchise to television back in August. Getting Marvel to agree to the proposed TV projects was the final hurdle, which has now apparently been cleared. As these series are still in the production phase, no airdate has yet been announced. Previous television roles for the gifted youngsters included a slew of animated series, most recently Marvel Anime: X-Men, as well as the made-for-TV film Generation X. X-Men fans can look forward to the next big-screen adaptation of the comic book series, X-Men: Apocalypse, in the meantime. That film will come to theaters on May 27, 2016. - FOX's planned X-Men spinoff series, Hellfire, is looking for a new creative teamAlthough FOX is still moving forward with plans for the X-Men spinoff series Hellfire, the network is now looking to do so with a different creative team than initially planned. Co-creators Evan Katz (24: Live Another Day), Manny Coto (24), Patrick McKay (Star Trek Beyond) and JD Payne (Star Trek Beyond) have, following the announcement earlier today, moved on to FOX’s upcoming 24 revival, 24: Legacy. According to The Hollywood Reporter a new creative team for Hellfire is expected to be announced soon.
(...) Hellfire follows a young Special Agent who learns that a power-hungry woman with extraordinary abilities is working with a clandestine society of millionaires – known as "The Hellfire Club" – to take over the world. Moviegoers will recall the Hellfire club's role in Matthew Vaughn's X-Men: First Class.
(...) "The action at the center of 'Hellfire' will be dynamic and will satisfy the rabid fans, but that said, newcomers will surely be addicted too!"
Lauren Shuler Donner, Bryan Singer, Simon Kinberg, Jeph Loeb and Jim Chory are still set to executive-produce Hellfire, although the series will likely arrive in 2017 rather than later this year.

I didn't understand what the hell was happening the entire time, and throughout I was like this is interesting but I'm not sure I like it, and by the end I realized I just hated it.
I knew absolutely nothing about this character or storyline, and after an hour and a freakin half I still know nothing about this character or storyline. I didn't like any of the characters, and the main guy's acting was terrible.

I wasn't sure how to feel about it as I was watching it. The whole 'unreliable narrator' trope is kind of a peeve of mine, but I did like that he didn't realize he had powers and just thought he was mentally ill (which I assume he probably still is). I imagine we'll be seeing more of those breaks in reality as it goes on, which will probably get annoying (the dancing scene was unnecessary). But when it shows him getting his powers in the apartment, that was great. The last twenty/thirty minutes gave me chills though. From Sydney being projected into his mind, to that whole pool scene. That whole scene of them escaping the compound was awesome. I know I'm biased when it comes to X-Men and honestly I have a 'I'll take what I can get' mindset, but when the telekinetic dude started flinging rocks and soldiers around I was like shiiiiit. I'm glad Sydney ended up being real (hopefully). Didn't really care for Audrey Plaza, but I imagine she'll be turning up more later on. But I wanna know who was projecting Sydney into David's mind, probably Miss Bird, who I'm gonna assume is Cassandra Nova. It was definitely a slow burn though. But like I said, that last scene at the compound made it worth it for me. I'm excited to see where it goes and hope they bring other characters from the X-Men universe. Here's to hoping that the X-Men can set up a successful tv universe.
