Manny Pacquiao lost a controversial points decision to Timothy Bradley last night. He was robbed.
Although I'm more disappointed since it basically makes the already unlikely Pacquaio-Mayweather fight near impossible since Manny will almost certainly have to avenge this defeat in a rematch and by then he'll be another year older and even more beaten up than he already is and pretty much past his prime.

My friend lost $500 on that fight. Needless to say he was very upset lol

Amir Khan should have had that fight ended in the first or second round tbh. That's the super fight with Mayweather off the table.
I didn't watch Haye/Chisora because £18.50 is too much for a fight between two arses.

Ricky Hatton's coming out of retirement for a fight in November. Does anybody really want to see him back in a boxing ring after his last few fights though?

I don’t see anything good coming from a comeback. Even when he was in his prime he came up short and was easily defeated in his two biggest fights against Mayweather and Pacquaio. I can't see him beating anyone of relevance now.
If it was just a comeback to have one last big payday and get a win over an easy opponent (like Haye’s last fight) so he could go out on a high then I could understand that but he’s talking like he wants to challenge for World titles again. If he’s serious about that then I think he’s going to end up with a few more losses on his record before he finally retires for good.
I would be interested in Hatton vs. Amir Khan though just for the spectacle of it.

Hatton vs. Khan would be the only good thing to come from his return to boxing, but I doubt that would be possible to arrange for November.
I'm actually more interested in Freddie Flintoff's boxing debut, even if he hasn't got a license yet.

The Flintoff thing is strange. I know it’s basically just a publicity stunt so they can make a documentary out of it but if they put him in the ring with anyone even halfway decent then he’ll get killed.
Pacquiao vs. Marquez IV looks like it’s almost official. Their first 3 fights were amazing so I’m expecting this one to be the same.

I thought the Freddie Flintoff fight tonight was on Sky One or Sky Sports but I just checked and it's on one of those crappy PPV boxing channels.
I was looking forward to seeing him getting knocked out too.

Sounds like a Hanna-Barbera character.

Part IV is tonight. Hopefully it's as good as the first 3. I'm pissed it's not on Sky Sports though. I have a feeling Marquez will win this one although I'm pulling for Manny. EDIT: Poor Manny.

I hope Hopkins continues for several more years and becomes the spokesperson for Metamucil. I already have the commercials all worked out.

The biggest fight of the year is tonight. Win, lose or draw, Mayweather is making an all time record $41.5 million from this fight. Justin Bieber is walking Mayweather to the ring again. I don't think Triple H will be there this time though. Oh, and if you're a fan of conspiracy theories: www.latimes.com/sports/sportsnow/la-sp-sn-mayweather-canelo-betting-20130914,0,5536105.story#axzz2ep7rMSW2 LAS VEGAS — Conspiracy theorists are flocking to the Las Vegas sports books to bet that Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Saul “Canelo” Alvarez will fight to a draw Saturday night.
MGM Resorts race and sports book director Jay Rood said Saturday that after opening as a 30-to-1 proposition bet, the draw has shrunk dramatically to an 8-to-1 bet.
Rood said that number is a “ridiculously bad” bet on such a long-shot occurrence.
The bettors are trying to outthink the strange turns a major boxing match can take.
If the judges give Mayweather and Alvarez a draw, the thinking goes that the massive riches generated by the fight can be duplicated or exceeded in an anticipated Cinco de Mayo weekend rematch in 2014.
A record $20.03 million was spent on tickets for the bout, and it could eclipse the record $137 million spent on the 2007 pay-per-view victory by Mayweather over Oscar De La Hoya.
With a draw, the fighters win, television network Showtime wins, Las Vegas wins.
So the bettors want to win.
The problem for Rood at the sports book is that he took several bets on the draw with odds set at 20-to-1, so even if the number has shrunk due to the continued onslaught, “If it’s a draw, it’s a real bad night for us.”
Yet, Rood has not been alarmed enough by the pattern or size of the betting to take the wager off the board, as has been done in the past with college football and basketball games.
“It’s boxing, it’s always shady,” Rood said. “But, no, I don’t think there’s anything sinister happening.”
Nevada State Athletic Commission Executive Director Keith Kizer said he wasn't concerned about the betting pattern or what others are speculating.
"There are always weird rumors," Kizer said. "Just part of the buzz."

The Juan Manuel Marquez/Timothy Bradley fight is airing on Sky Sports tonight.
Just like with wrestling shows, I always get kinda conflicted when we get a big boxing fight on TV. I'm glad that we're getting a PPV for free but staying up until the fight begins at like 4-5am can be hell, especially if the undercard fights are really boring.

I hate both Carl Froch and George Groves but that was a great fight. Oh, and: I wish I had seen this before the fight. I'm sure they were all used at some point.
