I've watched professional wrestling off and on since the late 1980's early nineties, but I didn't seriously start watching it until after the Attitude Era (around the time Sable came back).

I watched sporadically when I was really young but the first thing I really remember is the era where Triple H and Stephanie were running things and Rock was the top babyface. This just happened to be around the time Trish Stratus debuted also. I’ve watched on and off ever since.
With most of my old favorites now retired (HBK, Trish) or as good as (HHH, Jericho) it’s difficult to keep on watching. God bless Maryse, but the other 99% of RAW is usually awful. Laughing at how bad most of it is now is what keeps me going tbh.

This is true, I am surprised that cruiserweights like Bourne and Gabriel would even find work in a company where no solid Cruiserweight division nor championship for said division exists.

I started watching wrestling in the late 90s with my dad and sister. I liked Billy Gunn, because I felt like I was destined to become him, and Stone Cold, because he seemed like he would be one of my relatives. And of course, there was Sable.

I started watching just before that whole invasion angle. I instantly fell in love with Lita and Trish right after she debuted. After the invasion angle I wanted to have Kurt Angle's adopted babies (though I was like 12 or 13 at the time I think). I stopped watching in 2003, towards the end of 8th grade. In early 2008 I bought SvR 2008 randomly and looked at all the divas, only recognizing Torrie Wilson. This confused me because there wasn't any Trish/Lita. But I started playing as Ashley and totally loved her character model. So I went to the internet and started watching clips of Ashley and the other diva storylines that I missed. I even found the channel that Raw was on (before I stopped watching it, it was on Spike tv) and that night was the night Ashley made her return back to Raw in the lingerie pillow fight. I've been watching ever since.

I just wish I could have been watching a lot longer ago like before and during the Attitude Era, those were good times. I mean I didn't get to watch Tori (Terri Poch) wrestle as she was new to WWF but I found out about her around the same time I found out about the Kat (around 2001 - 2002) and I just loved Kat's character and I was bummed that I didn't get to see her while she was on TV. I remember watching it sporadically back then and seeing a segment where Tori or Terri Runnels introduced Kane (I'm assuming it was Tori but she looked different) anyway it was back when he wore the suit with the red mask so yea. I also knew about and watched Chyna wrestle from time to time but not nearly enough

I started getting interested around 1999 when I first saw Chris Jericho debut on RAW. But at that time I had to sneak around just to watch wrestling because I was only 9 at the time and my parents wouldn't allow me to watch. So until I was 13, I was sneaking around watching wrestling when I absolutely had no business watching it. But then after that the first divas match I saw was between Stephanie McMahon-Helmsley vs Lita for the Women's Title. Then I started falling in love with divas until WWE started getting beyond retarded and started hiring inspiring models who probably didn't even know jack shit about wrestling. Which then I started to lose faith with WWE Divas around the time Ashley Massaro won the 2005 Diva Search no offense to anyone who like Ashley , cause when she wrestled I couldn't bear to watch cause it was like watching a trainwreck happen. Also, when Trish and Lita left was when in my opinion the Divas started falling from grace.
If you're wondering why I'm beyond nit-picky with WWE Divas is because some quality of the matches from when WWE started hiring models who hasn't even wrestled or if they did know how to wrestle it was really a bitter pill to swallow and watch, gets me. Now don't get me wrong, I live divas but I just don't like the direction that the divas division is going at this point.

You do realize there was a diva search in 2004, where they fired most of their indy girls for models, right? Seems like someone's just trying to pin (ha!) it all on Ashley. Either way,

Either way, Now don't get mad at me okay with all of what I'm saying. I do realize that there was a Diva Search in 2004, and no I'm blaming it all on Ashley they're were bad Diva Search constestant's who wrestled. But it's beyond obvious Ashley was a beyond horrible wrestler case in point her botches. Ends at 1:23 with her botch list. They're probably a ton more out there but they're hidden somewhere. Now this is Soooo not relating on the topic. I really think Ashley was never punk. Because the style seemed ripped off to look cool. Also there's things about her that's pretty irksome to me about her. I think she acts like she's this tough ass chick when she didn't even start dressing, "punk" (more like hot topic punk) until she started dating someone who was far from from that (Coincidence? I think not!). And then the denying and not denying that sha has a kid...yeah, I feel sorry for that kid for having a parent like who seems to have groupie like tendencies. I'm sorry to be sound extremely spiteful about Ashley. To me, Ashley didn't seem real at all to me, it was like a huge facade on-air and off to me because I have seen her before this huge Hot Topic Punk image come in. There's also pictures of her when before the Hot-Topic punk image came in. img130.imageshack.us/img130/6748/ashley7.jpg[/quote]I hope you don't get mad at me about this, it's only an opinion of what I think about her.

Well to be fair I've seen lots of girls into the whole goth and punk rock scene, and I can understand why someone might think Ashley ripped off Lita's look but I never zeroed in to it quite that much. To be honest if someone is going to henpeck Ashley for dressing Lita-like then I think all of the divas within the past five to ten years need to get the same evaluation, I mean you could say that Candice Michelle's bustier look that she had going on when she was first starting was similar to Sable's attire that she wore when she was last in the company, and Michelle McCool and Maryse both look like they're wearing similar looking outfits with the top and shorts-like trunks (but I am not entirely sure which of the two started dressing like that first). I mean other than fashion I don't think Ashley ripped off Lita that much at all. Besides Lita's look changed drastically like around 2004 or so (iirc) and it definitely changed when she got together with Edge.

Nah you're just the typical Ashley hater though. I'm not arguing about her ring skill. She was terrible in the ring, but she was probably the most impressive diva on the mic. And that punk argument is so outdated. It's idiotic of people to say she copied Lita, it may be hard for some to see, but they had two very different styles. Lita was more into the grunge/old school punk thing, while Ashley was more pop punk, that was sexed up of course. Their tastes in music were different too, Lita was more into the old school punk rock, while Ashley once again was more current with her taste in music, liking some pop punk/screamo bands, pretty much anything that's found on Warped Tour (I know kind of a broad statement). Besides her being great on the mic, she knew how to get the fans into what was going on, hardly any of the divas now can do that. And going back to her style, who cares? She stood out, that's what was important. And she looked damn good doing it. Why not call out Katie Lea too? She 'dressed' like Lita too. Seriously that gif is so played out. People just hate on her cause she was a model. And while on that topic of models, quite frankly I don't care if what your background says, as long as you want to be there and love what you do, that's what matters. Indy, model, whatever, just love what you're doing. It doesn't matter where you come from.

lol, in all fairness... it looked like most of those botches were Jillian's fault. I thought Ashley did really well at WM24. imo, that was the last Diva WM match that wasn't a total disaster. it did have its moments, tho.
