How known was she in the US before this?
I hope they make the wedding date a public holiday like they did for Prince William’s wedding. The best thing about the royals is that they occasionally get you a day off work.

They are smart for wanting to get away from all the old fashioned, traditional royal stuff. The whole idea of a royal family is just weird and kinda creepy.
Of course the media is hating them for it.

Basically they’re stepping back from all official royal duties and will instead focus on their own charities and stuff and any other work they choose to do. It doesn’t even sound like a big deal to me but to the serious royal family stans (those are a thing apparently) they’re acting like they’re traitors for doing it.
